  1. I almost have all the parts necessary to build this marvel, only missing the following: 2 x 'Light Bluish Gray Dish 3 x 3 Inverted (Radar)' 17 x 'Light Bluish Gray Technic, Axle Pin without Friction Ridges Lengthwise' 2 x 'Trans-Clear Dish 3 x 3 Inverted (Radar)' Unfortunately hardly anyone near me is selling these, so I'm thinking about replacing the axle pins with (old) gray ones. Will have to change the front lights as well I guess. Close enough :)
  2. Blakbird: would it be possible for you to create a parts list for the blue version? I love it, and would like to build it.
  3. I have just looked through Therion's instructions (thanks for that by the way, makes it a lot easier!), and I can't find it being used anywhere. Guess Rebrickable is wrong there (not the first time) ;-)
  4. I'm also planning to build this model, but according to Rebrickable I'm missing a 4L light bley axle, which is hard to find. Can anyone tell me where it is used in the model, and if it can be replaced with a black one without sacrificing aesthestics?
  5. Zorex and Backhoe also have some very rare parts ;-) But that's ok, you can always work around it.
  6. Agreed! Offtopic: are you working on any new trucks? Would love to see you do a proper studless truck :D
  7. 24 tooth clutch gears? Simply take an old style differential (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6573), cut off the excess part from the 24 tooth gear, use coarse sanding paper to remove the two 'stumps', then use very fine sanding paper to make the surface as smooth as possible. Like this: http://imgur.com/a/i5IG2#0
  8. Not sure, but maybe http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=45677 ?
  9. Those are very easy to make yourself :) Just made two yesterday.
  10. Yes, those are awesome... and not for sale.
  11. You want linear actuators that are black rather than light bluish grey? They don't exist.
  12. At least we got the prices now (assuming they are correct), seems like 42024 will be a big set at 8990 rubles/208 euro! Finally a proper container truck. Only 42021 looks like a small set.
  13. 2990 rubles is about 70 euro, so a mid-range set then. Edit: if you look here they use that same 'top' for all the sets: http://le-go.ru/lego..._technic_2014/.
  14. Looks nice! Those rims are truely buttugly though
  15. Just wondering, what would it approximately cost if one where to bricklink all the dark blue parts? Maybe that's an alternative for all the people who missed out on this set?
  16. Replacing one of the M-motors by an L-motor will need some more changes though, as the M-motor that is used for raising/lowering the boom is also used to power the left track. So you have two options: replace two M-motors by L-motors so that both tracks are powered by L-motors and will therefore be synchronized (but slower, unless geared up), or somehow change the geartrain in such a way that the L-motor is used for rotating the upper structure when not raising/lowering the boom.
  17. Wow, those pneumatic brackets are damn expensive indeed nowadays. Good thing I bought four of them for cheap 3 years ago when I was bricklinking 8275
  18. Which was a good decision IMO. Sure, pneumatics come closer to the 'real thing' (hydraulics) in terms of looks and function, but linear actuators are more user friendly, far easier to motorize/remote control, and cheaper to produce.
  19. Gekke Ted: did you order that planetary gear?
  20. Nice renders Blackbird :) Though I wish my Lego was that shiny ;-) D3K: I think I found another small mistake in the inventory: it lists both 4 x 32529 in black and 4 x 32529 in light bluish grey, but I think you only use 4 x 32529 in dark bluish grey in the instructions (I could be wrong, I only quickly skimmed through them).
  21. Those custom tires (tyres?) look badass, how much did you pay for them?
  22. Some illegal techniques? Like chopping up the old-style differentials to get 24-tooth clutch gears you mean? :D Ah well, I blame Lego for not producing those themselves.
  23. @therealjustin: have you built the supercars of the likes of Nathanaël Kuipers, Crowkillers, Jurgen Krooshoop, etc.? Those might give you some good ideas on how to handle stuff like the chassis, suspension, gearbox, etc.
