  1. Anyone know when we might expect the first pictures to appear? Curious about the colour schemes.
  2. Same here, could use a few of those for a new MOC I'm building (teleloader). Anyone know if they are for sale yet? And no, not planning on buying 42009.
  3. Yes, I would definitely recommend it. Great value for its price, especially as you also get some cool new parts like the claw arms.
  4. Are there any real benefits (i.e., not theoretical) to using the V2 IR rather than V1 in MOCs? I can get some V1's pretty cheap and the V2 looks like it's going to be expensive, hence me asking.
  5. 8043 really impressed me with its complexity and playability, and comes with a lot of useful parts (I bought 2 copies!). 8110 was also an instant classic IMO. Very cool set to build, and easy to modify and add new functionality (which the 8110 mod topic is testament to). From the latest batch, I really like 42006. Smaller in size than 8043, but very nicely designed and a pleasure to build.
  6. Do the mechanisms function well? I read something about the outriggers being slow? Is the boom actually capable of lifting anything? Edit: ah, I see you talk about this at the end of the review, nevermind :)
  7. I think I'm going to skip this one - not keen on the aesthetics and the mishmash of different mechanisms (LA, pneumatic).
  8. Stunning, really. In Dutch: een meesterwerk in wording! Keep it up!
  9. Looks like I'm just 150 parts shy of building 42009 - I think I'll just bricklink it :D
  10. Just finished building 42006, and I must say I'm quite impressed! It's quite a small set, but it's very cleverly designed with lots of neat building techniques. I especially like the way the gearbox and claw are constructed. Very good value for its price! 9/10.
  11. That's what I was thinking as well, should be a cool B-model! Lately they have been a bit lacking.
  12. I'll probably end up buying 42000, 42008 and 42009. Going to be another expensive year :-) If you already have 8043 (and doubtless some other sets as well), you might consider building 42006 using the online instructions. You only need to order some missing parts (such as the claws) on bricklick. That's what I'm going to do. Shouldn't you reserve judgement until you have built 42009 and toyed around with it? Seems a bit rash to judge it purely based on some pictures.
  13. By the way, just wondering, in previous years, did the final 2H models differ significantly (if at all) from the models shown at the toy fairs in January? Thank you!
  14. By the way, any Germans around to translate what the German presenter is saying when handling the crane? I can understand some of it, but not all.
  15. Look at the video: the grey panel is simply part of the superstructure, and the long pins are used to mount the superstructure to the chassis, similar to 8053.
  16. The new 'regular' 8-tooth gears are tan, these new red ones are assumed to be the frictionless versions.
  17. I'm not that impressed with 42008, looks like something I could (and probably will) build from my own parts. Not a big fan of the green colour either. 42009 on the other hand looks really cool - the new panels, new sliding gear, massive part count, intricate mechanisms. Yep, I understand that the sliding 8-tooth gear needs a different colour to differentiate it from the light bley or tan 8-tooth gears, but I would've preferred black. Oh well, at least we finally have a sliding gear! Now for a smaller white clutch gear...
  18. I don't think the LA has something to do with it, I think the U-joint between the boom and dipper is making an excessive angle.
  19. You're right, looks like it can go quite a bit further. That thing is absolutely massive.. Move over 8421 and 8053, there's a new king in town!
  20. Love that crane, going to get a copy for sure. That panel looks useful. Any other sets it has appeared in?
  21. Don't have pictures, sorry.. recycled the model months ago! These changes aren't hard to figure out for yourself though. Part of the challenge ;-) No model is perfect :)
  22. I had the same issues, used a clutch gear to prevent the LA clutches from engaging, and changed the dipper construction slightly to prevent the u-joint there from making excessive angles.
