  1. Looks pretty cool :) No longer using LAs for steering then?
  2. That's exactly what I did :) The only expensive pieces are 'Red Technic, Panel Plate 1 x 5 x 11' (but you only need four) and possibly the wheels and tires. The rest of the pieces are all common parts.
  3. I share your opinion! 9398 looks nice and has a pretty cool suspension, but lacks motorised/pneumatic functions. Both 8258 and 8110 have lots of functions, and also have very large part counts. But then again, the 9398 has 2 x PF L motor, 1 x PF Servo motor and a v2 receiver + remote, whereas the 8258 and 8110 have to make do with a single PF motor (M for the 8110, XL for the 8258). So yeah, depends on your priorities. If you want lots of functions and lots of loose parts, go for the 8258 or 8110. Compared to the 8258, 8110 has slightly more parts, and also some cool new parts like the new wheels, portal axle hubs and ball joints. And pneumatics! 8258 on the other hand looks better (imo). If you want lots of PF stuff, go for the 9398. Good point!
  4. By the way, nice model once again! Quite impressive to see it navigating the snow with ease. Suspension also seems to work very well. It does seem to be a bit top-heavy though?
  5. Horizontal plane for turning and vertical plane for handling steep inclines/obstacles I guess.
  6. Love the look of those mudspattered tires :) But what about the fenders - shouldn't they be dirty as well? By the way, your 9398 MOC is definitely one of the best efforts so far - most of the entries seem to be quite lame colour variations on the 9398, or simple mashups of the 8297 body and the 9398 chassis. P.S.: your website is down?
  7. Yep, I wouldn't mind paying for building instructions of Sariel's excellent models, considering how much work is involved in creating decent instructions. Some other high-profile MOC'ers also allow you to buy instructions.
  8. Looking forward to seeing this thing finished! Chassis already looks very impressive :)
  9. Thanks for providing instructions Sariel, much appreciated :) And I second the CUUSOO motion!
  10. Haha, was thinking the exact same thing. Lovely model, really want to build it. Shame pneumatics are so expensive.. Maybe I should use some LAs instead, or is that considered blasphemy?
  11. Very impressive model, it looks sleek yet deadly. Lovely colour as well.
  12. I like idkwhoyouare's red jeep, not really feeling the other entries to be honest.
  13. Love the looks of this entry, you've got my vote as well :-)
  14. Very impressive looking MOC! Have you set it loose in the wild yet? Very curious how it performs. Thinking of building it myself
  15. Currently building this Already made one additional improvement; I use an old-style differential gear to route the drivetrain for the left track through the turntable, rather than the driving rings. This gets rid of the annoying backlash.
  16. 8258 is definitely the best set out of those four. I didn't particularly enjoy the 8053, though the B-model is pretty good. The 8297 is nice if you don't have any big wheels/shock absorbers/etc. yet, but the motorized functions are pretty lame. I have no experience with the 8052. You're not considering the 8265 though? It's really an excellent set. Can't recommend it enough.
  17. Looks good but I agree with Sariel, it definitely could use bigger wheels :-)
  18. Beautiful truck! Love the attention you've paid to the livery. Did you motorize anything?
  19. Never heard of this guy but his MOCs are very impressive indeed Love that tow truck..
  20. Thanks a lot for the videos, they show a lot of detail. I always love the ingenious creations LEGO Technic builders come up with to model real-life systems
