The sloop Mysterious Lady, aka the Gypsy
Ayrlego replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A very nice, clean little sloop Capt Wolf. I especially like the colour scheme and the 1x1 headlight bricks as a grate. -
[COR-CWW] The Cocovia wagonway: a royal collaboration
Ayrlego replied to Brickwolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A loading station and warehouse on the wagonway for category 2. @Brickwolf would have to give you a definite answer on this, but I personally wouldn't have an issue if you wanted to build something. -
The ETTC was quick to see the potential of the Royal Cocovia Wagonway project and has thus made a substantial investment in it's development. Here a siding branches of the main track to a ETTC loading station and warehouse. Goods from the warehouse can be loaded onto wagons using a large crane. Inside the ETTC manager and his assistant inspect some of the goods awaiting dispatch. Footprint: 2034 (48x48) This one has been sitting collecting dust half finished since the original deadline and I was finally able to get it out and finish it off this week. Anyway nothing revolutionary here. I would have liked to do the terracotta style roof using round 1x1 bricks which I think would have looked much better, but I didn't have enough. EDIT: Some additional detail shots:

Sorry Drunknok, I missed commenting when you posted this, but it is definitely worth coming back to now. Both builds are excellent. I especially like the black and white checked floor in the first build as with the red walls. For the wagon way itself, that is a great carriage, especially the sloped sides. I think I will borrow them if I ever get my entry finished. The vegetation makes for a colourful scene and I like the idea of the different ways of interacting with the natives! Of course as good Corries, I suspect we will go with the peaceful option! Again, my apologies for not commenting sooner - a great entry!

[SR - AMCRA FB4 Oct] Uncharted Jungles
Ayrlego replied to MKJoshA's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great build, the landscape is really good! Those Nexo torsos make interesting natives as well. Good luck with the risky choice. -

@Roadmonkeytj Thanks, I have considered ordering another small midsection to attempt an extension exactly like yours, but we'll have to see if I can bring myself to break her up.... -
[Esl - Ship] Buying A New Ship Licence
Ayrlego replied to Tezclatipoca's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
A really beautiful little interior Faladrin, the green on the floor works especially well and the red flags as curtains are a nice touch. -
It is a nice interior Mesabi, I admit to having eyed off that kit a few times as it looks like it has some decent parts. Hopefully your marines and one 'cool dude' will be enough to handle any pirates you encounter in the area! Also I think it's a good idea for an aMRCA. I do have one question though, why do most of your builds feature TNT? As a historical note, TNT was only first used as an explosive in 1891, well outside our time frame. I don't have an issue or anything, I'm just curious. I'm guessing the reason is that the WTC just love to blow things up!

Great little interior and I really like your Mardierian officer - his torso is custom right? -
(MRCA Result) Sinking of the Shuriken
Ayrlego replied to Garmadon's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
My apologies for not commenting on this great build sooner Garm, it's fantastic. I don't really have anything new to add to the praise above - the water and minifig posing are the highlights for me as well. Great job as usual! -
That is a really great little micro build Mesabi- I'm really impressed - you've really captured the shape and look of a large ocean going galley. Personally I would of probably left out the micro-figs and flick cannons as I don't think they quite fit the scale, but that is just semantics. Great job and all the best for the next instalment.

A fantastic concept for the mini challenge Mike, and I like the detailed addition to the Serentia natives lore and it's a great little build to go with as well - great job!

Some exciting news I feel appropriate to share here, I've been away the last couple of days staying with a friend interstate and we started to sort out his childhood Lego collection. Being a proud redcoat I was very excited to be able to put together a very nearly complete 6271 Imperial Flagship which originally belonged to my friends sister. She then generously gifted it to me and now I will proudly display it next to my Caribbean Clipper and Armada Flagship! She's a beauty, almost a shame I can't use her in the game! -
[OL - Era II - Ch 1 - Cat. A] Oleon Consulate
Ayrlego replied to KotZ's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I'm no expert, but I use Bluerender 6, but I also have a mod loaded that @Kolonialbeamter recommended called the bublible_sunflow_mod. I don't think it is available anymore, but I just found the .zip file I originally downloaded. If you want to give it a go PM me your email and I'll send it through. Here is an example of a build I rendered using Bluerender 6 and the Sunflow mod. -
[ESL-FB] Post Mill with Roundhouse
Ayrlego replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I think it makes a lot of sense for post mill number 2 to be of the same construction design as number one, although like Bodi I did do a double take at first! I like the round house underneath, probably a bit more than the also excellent trestle on the first one. Again the track around the windmill and the landscape and goats are awesome. Great job! -
[OL - Era II - Ch 1 - Cat. A] Oleon Consulate
Ayrlego replied to KotZ's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great consulate and a very welcome addition to Jameston! Hopefully this bodes well for future relations between our great empires! The front façade is very nicely done, and the interior is great as well! What will you license it as? All together a very nice entry. -
[COR - Era II - Ch I - Cat. A] Back to school
Ayrlego replied to Brickwolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great entry Brickwolf, a schoolhouse is a great place to start your expedition and a nice addition to Jameston. I like the curvature of the roof and addition of the flag, and as mentioned by others the bell tower is great. A humorous team composition and nice to see the ETTC Sepoys make an appearance. Also great to see Dr Lupus again, the links were a nice reminder of his achievements. Great work all round! -
[Era II - Ch I - Cat. A] a pied-à-terre
Ayrlego replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice entry Professor, I like the wooden crossbeams and the way the building is presented on an irregular base. The interior however steals the show, great details! Well done!- 12 replies

[OL - Character Intro] New beginnings
Ayrlego replied to Khorne's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Fantastic build, all that SNOT work looks great and the snow and ice makes for a nice change to the usual BoBS scenes. Those Garvian soldiers look good as well! I look forward to seeing Magnus adventures on his way to join the foreign legion. As for photography, light is definitely the key, although it shouldn't be direct light. I use a 90cmx90cm light box (pic below) which I have found invaluable (about AUD$100 on ebay), although you can make the same sort of thing yourself. I've seen set ups (Gideon for example) using a roller blind and lamps refracting light of the ceiling down onto the scene and others using boxes with the sides cut out and replaced with something like greaseproof or tissue paper so that the light from the lamps on the other side of the paper is diffused (some examples and a guide here). The other thing that really helps of course is a decent camera. I highly recommend a good digital SLR so that you can manually adjust the shutter speed/aperture etc Anyway, I'm no expert, I just have decent tools, some of the other guys round here are far better photographers than me. Hope the above helps. -
[COR] Arriving at the Courthouse (DISCUSSION)
Ayrlego replied to Mesabi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The first part (Judge's opening remarks) are up: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/157203-cor-the-trial-of-captain-tyrell/&do=findComment&comment=2897604 -
After everyone had taken their seats, Judge Cornelius Swenson continued in the calm and measured, yet unmistakably authoritarian voice that had made him famous throughout the Belson courts. "I understand that this case has caused a deal of controversy in these colonies of Her Majesty. I will take this opportunity to warn all present, I will not countenance any disruption of this trial, or any disrespect of the court. Any who attempt to test me on this point will be held in contempt of this court. I have been told Mooreton Bay has a penal sandstone quarry, I believe a period of no less than three weeks hard labour for Her Majesty to be a fitting punishment for any minifigure I find to be in breach of this order." He paused, peering above his steel rimmed reading glasses to survey the room with a stern look. "I will now hear opening statements, beginning with the prosecution" ----- Over to you @Bregir Sorry it took a while to get up, for some reason it's a busy time of the year.... (Merry Christmas all!) I did however want to attempt a version of @Mesabi's courtroom for my parts. Lucky I only had to replicate the front, and I have taken some liberties and added some detail to the original, while trying to keep it the overall same style (original here).
