  1. Thanks Phred!
  2. @Mesabi The factory still isn't showing up in the accounts thread, but I assume the account gurus will look at that when they have time. In the meantime I have paid the incentive and licence (250DB).
  3. @Professor Thaum The factory still isn't showing up in the accounts thread, but I assume the account gurus will look at that when they have time. In the meantime I have paid the incentive and licence (475DB).
  4. A very nice tannery - great idea. As mentioned the CMF capes look great as hides and I like how you have done the cut out section so you can see the interior.
  5. Nice scene - very dark and suitable for a dungeon scene... although I would imagine any dungeon below the mangroves of Fort Coyle would be a bit more wet! Very nice table, are they brown tiles in the middle? Oh and your headboard definitely makes a great backdrop!
  6. Good to see Montoya again... interesting to see where this goes. I've heard the rum on Tortuga is brutal, but no recollection.... wow!
  7. As stated elsewhere, fantastic MOC (and huge!), great details, great architecture and fantastic minifigs. The way you built the statues into the walls of the white house is really well done and I like the red roof and atrium in the centre of the building. Nice to see some of the old world starting to get fleshed out a bit and this to me is perfect for how I imagine Londa.
  8. A brilliant factory Prof, really, really impressive! I love the style of the factory with the white walls, medium dark flesh roof and open air section on the right. The way it sits on the shoreline is also very cool. I have a large commercial build started with a very similar shoreline that I think I will now adapt to match your style and vision here! The lime palm tree works well and I like the fisherman sitting on the boardwalk. The machinery itself is very impressive, the attention to detail is incredible, especially with the broken down section. All in all a lovely MOC that I am honoured to have in Jameston! I will transfer the bounty and license fee as soon as the account sheet is back to normal!
  9. I really love this build, like Sir Stig said I also can't get enough underwater scenes and this one is very nicely executed! Probably my favourite of your builds yet! Great work!
  10. Lol, great opening line! And a great build as well. It might just be the presentation or the pattern of the 'brick' bricks but I think your walls are getting better. The processes look good and are easy to follow - is that a light brick in the furnace? Cool effect either way. A bottle factory was a great choice, and rather fortuitous as I hear rumours a distillery is about to be opened in town.... Sorry about that, but rest assured I do have a plan building a large town on the edge of the known world here! I'll pay up just as soon as the account sheet is back to normal. If you can confirm you licensed it already that would be great. Never mind, you just did! How far along are you? I see a couple of choices here, 1. Jameston could always do with more factories, and Mesabi has specialised in bottles, so other glass products could be an option, so carry on! 2. As I've had a great response to the initiative so far (with at least one more factory on the way), if you'd prefer to build an educational or artisan property I would pay you the same incentive for one of those property types (I'm keen to make Large Town before I am forced away from my bricks at the end of the year).
  11. @Phred @Captain Genaro The spreadsheet seems to have dropped some settlement values for Jameston since the yesterday, x2 artisans and x4 factories (assuming @Mesabi licensed his latest medium factory - if not then it's only dropped x2 factory points). Total settlement size should be 24 not 18 - If it helps with troubleshooting I'm pretty sure it was correct when I checked yesterday... Thanks!
  12. Ah roger that, carry on then great leader!
  13. he already did: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/152200-oleon-sign-up-and-discussion-era-ii/&do=findComment&comment=2873872
  14. I love the accessibility of the factory, it way it opens up on hinges is classic Lego and I like it a lot! The wooden section, skylight in the roof and the cute little cart are also all highlights, as is the machine for crushing the sugar, although I pity the poor minifig who has to operate it! Overall a great first factory for Jameston and a very appropriate subject given the nearby Royal Sugar plantation! The bounty and licence fee has been paid. The photos look good, the lightbox sure arrived quickly! For smaller builds I have a piece of white foam board I put the build on to eradicate the wrinkles of the material, but you can then get a 'horizon' where the card ends. For photo editing my first suggestion would be to play with the white balance or try and cut the background out completely with an editor such as GIMP or Photoshop.
  15. The Governor's agents have placed instructions with the bank and should you check your account you will see that the funds have been transferred. A pleasure doing business with you Sir. May your investment in Jameston be profitable. Mr Samuel Woodruff Secretary to the Colonial Governor and Managing Director of the Allcock Estate.
  16. TLDR: No and No Basically you can build anywhere or anything you like. It's good if your sigfig can be part of the story for your build, but it won't always make sense. Many of us players who have been around a while have many, many secondary characters, some of whom only appear once or twice! For example, my sig fig is definitely not a sailor, although I currently own two licensed ships. One has a named captain who has appeared in a few of my builds, the other I have never bothered with any characters for. Same with licensing buildings. For your first few you might want to include your sigfig, just to consolidate your story, but it is not certainly not mandatory. I would guess that most of my buildings don't include Allcock as it wouldn't make sense for him to appear everywhere. To begin with most of us started by picking one settlement, (in Corrington it is usually Arlinsport - probably Breshun in Oleon???) place a few builds there then moved deeper into New Terra. But basically you can do what you like. Unlike other RPGs you will be familiar with, as long as you aren't trying to bend them to gain advantage, the rules are fairly loose and more of a guideline. But any questions ask here and you are sure to get a bunch of responses!
  17. and the diagram I linked to was this one: Panel oblique, for facade by Werner, on Flickr They are actually tiles! See above ^
  18. Dramatis Personae (I too really like this idea to keep characters sorted! Thanks to @Kolonialbeamter for the Inkscape template for the character tags!) Colonel Sir Dirk Allcock has finally made it back to civilisation. After months in the jungles of Cascadia with the Myzec, he has finally arrived back in Jameston, a settlement that has grown much in his absence. As he greets Samuel Woodruff outside the new constructed offices of the Allcock Trading Company, Dirk notices that next door is a barbershop. A barber with a luxurious moustache is waiting for customers at the door. After months in the jungle, Dirk longs for a proper shave and trim, so much to the surprise of Mr Woodruff, but not so much Sergeant Gowan or Davy Russell, who had both returned with Dirk from Cascadia, he heads over and greets the Barber. The moustached barber returns Dirk's greeting enthusiastically, revealing a thick Mardierian accent. Dirk soon finds himself in the barber's chair, looking out onto the street with Mr Woodruff hovering alongside and Sergeant Gowan lounging on the back wall. Russell has wondered off. The barber's name was Marco, and he was indeed of Mardierian descent. "So my fine man, how did you end up here in Jameston, by the sounds of it you originally hail from Mardier?" "Not Mardier Signore, but rater the Isle de Medio, born in New Ter-ra. I worked as the personal barber for teh Mardierian Viceroy himself." "and you fled after the fall of the Island to Eslandola?" "Si, Signore, bet-ter to leave no?" "Quite so, but why not New Haven with your fellow countrymen?" "Ah, Every-a-one go to New Hafen - Marco, he lika his chances going east, so I a come here no? Open my own shop" "Well my dear man, let's see if your barber skills are as you say, your finest shave and a trim thank you." With that Marco got to work. Mr Woodruff began a report. "The incentive for factories was released as ordered Colonel. We have had more interest than expected so far, but I shall await judgement until the projects themselves firm up." "Quite good, and I see that the resupply convoy from Cocovia has arrived in harbour, I noticed the Lady Jacqueline amongst the ships at anchor on my arrival" "Indeed, Captain Sawkins awaits you at your pleasure. The convoy is readying to depart in the next week and are currently loading goods, mostly sugar cane" "Yes, I see the sugar industry here is off to a great start, very good indeed" The conversation went on for sometime, until Marco had finished. Dirk felt great - it was indeed a fine shave. "Well my good Sir, that was indeed as good as promised, Sergeant, pay the good man from my purse if you please, and don't skimp on the tip." "To be sure Sir," "Actually while you are there, Marco, give my Sergeant a shave, he always seems to have that shadow on his face" The normally stoic Sergeant Gowan looked horrified. "Ah Sir, for the love of the gods you wouldn't let that Mardo anywhere near me with a razor would you Sir?" "Don't make such a fuss Sergeant, you will feel better I assure you" "Zeus, Hades and Posiedon!" Sergeant Gowan made the sign against evil. Dirk sighed, "Just pay the man then Sergeant. We shall be returning." "Many tanks Signore, a fine day to you" ---------- Another small artisan for Jameston and the first section of the street put together. Below is a picture of the Barbershop on its own. It was time for Dirk to return and time to focus on storytelling again, hence the wall of text. I really love @Kolonialbeamter's tags for his characters and hope to put together some of my own, as I seem to have lots of named reoccurring characters and it would be nice to weave them back into the stories again. EDIT: Tags added thanks to KB's assistance!
  19. Really great scene KB, the minifig posing is perfect as is the palm tree and the row boats. All up just a lot to like here!
  20. As I commented in the NPC development PM, these are some great minifigs. The yellow and blue makes for some interesting combos. The use of the Arabian Warrior CMF torso back-to-front and with a fleshie head is interesting however the marksmen has to be my favourite. I have wondered about the batman belt before, but in brown and for more modern soldiers - I'm undecided about it here though - that yellow is just so bright! Great job, Terraversa is looking good to repel any Mardierian attempt to reclaim their wayward colony!
  21. Nice to see Uncle back at it... although poor Agnes, strung up for her husbands debts!!! The palm trees are indeed quite nice, I will have to try that at some stage.
  22. Thanks Spud. The buildings were all supposed to be attached, but I keep making overhangs which means that they will have to be detached at this stage... Thanks Prof Thank you Bodi Thanks Kwatchi. I can't help but think the half timbered wall would have looked better in sand or olive green, but I couldn't help but use the medium green because of it's unusualness Thanks Captain Dee. I wish I had half the dresses of your collection! It was nice to have a build that had more ladies than men for a change! I am liking the 20x20 format at the moment - it is a good manageable size and can be finished relatively fast! Yeah, I don't know why more people don't invest in one. Presentation is one thing that really helps lift a build, and I understand that it can be a lot of money to spend on a light box, but if you are constantly taking photos of Lego that costs a whole lot more, then I believe it is a good investment! I have got a 64x48 inside before (just) I don't think I've tried a 64x64 but it would be tricky and your angles would be limited.
  23. An extremely nice mill Capt Wolf. The siding indeed works well here but I too well remember the frustrations of working with it!! The track around the mill and landscape are very nice and I like the stairs on the wagon wheels for this part. The sheep roaming the fields gives the whole thing a nice touch. I believe they are from Brickforge, although it appears they have either been discontinued or are out of stock atm. Now I wish I got some when I had the chance....! As for the goats.... one day Lego will re-release them surely?!?!?
  24. Thanks Silent Wolf, The cross beam is kind of just wedged into place, it fits almost perfectly diagonally across there. Thanks Elos! Thanks Drunknok, no interior on the first level. I only have medium green in 1x2 bricks, so the interior is a little messy.... Also @Bregir asked about by photo setup on Flickr, so I thought I'd post this here in case anyone else is interested. It's a 90cm x 90cm light box from ebay - cost about AUD$90 and was very definitely worth every cent - although it does limit the size of the builds a bit - you'll notice the quality of the photos of my bigger builds degrades a lot.... :(
  25. Milk away! Although the Governor reserves the right to withhold the bounty if he feels quality is being sacrificed for quantity...
