  1. Mayor James Hume of Moorton Bay would certainly be honoured to attend such an event. As a fellow Corrish mayor in the next largest town in the region, he would have many good reasons to attend, as well as to celebrate this achievement! It may be a good idea to keep him away from the slanderous editor of the WTC monthly, surely no good would come from them meeting after the article that appeared about him earlier this year. Hume is equally skilled with blade or pistol! Colonel Allcock would of course love to attend as well, although he is currently exploring the jungles of Celestia and is unlikely to reappear in time for the ball. I am sure he will be very disappointed to have missed it!!
  2. A great looking fort Drunknok, I love the 'classic' pirate feel of the yellow highlights! The overall shape is nice and the lower 'brick' level fits well with what we have seen previously in Mesabi Landing. While the bay window would be very impracticable for a fortification, it does look quite good although the whole rear wall looks like it could do with a slope or offset - probably between the 'stone' and white wall. A very minor detail though that certainly doesn't detract from a very good looking fort. Great job!
  3. A very nice looking frigate Bodi, with very sleek looking lines. The sails and rigging are awesome - great job!
  4. Although I know very little about rigging, (and even less about actually building it!) I certainly love the way you've done this one - It instantly stood out as a bomb ketch when I first saw it. The way the mortars are mounted also stands out. Great job!
  5. A very nicely done ship Capt Wolf, and the influence is easily seen. I was able to pick up a second small midsection before I left home, so when I eventually return I will probably be tempted to try something similar!
  6. While some cobblestones would have indeed been nice, I do think your buildings are definitely improving (apart from that hideous pink roof! ) The medium dark flesh bricks at the bottom make a nice contrast with the simple yet effective looking white facade and the profile bricks nicely break up the light bley quay. An overall shot would have been interesting to see the full facade. Anyway, as always an amusing story. Nicely done!
  7. A very beautiful foundry Captain Dee, very impressive - especially that roof!! That is a serious amount of round plates and they look wonderful. I like the clean lines of the building and the long windows. The explanation and representation of the process are also great. All up a fantastic job!
  8. A market stall selling fresh seafood including the Brick Sea famous Garma Crabs!
  9. Previously... Restoring Order, Mesabi Landing by Ayrlego A letter to Colonel Allcock by @Drunknok Dramatis Personae: Ayrlego Port Woodhouse, early January 618AE Mayor of Port Woodhouse, Commander Matthew Allcock RN and Major William Bradley, Commanding Officer, Paradise Isles Garrison emerged from the temporary headquarters building, currently guarded by a soldier from a Highland regiment. The pair had decided to take some fresh air after being locked inside most of the morning discussing directions that they had just received from the Colonial Governor who was in Jameston preparing an expedition into the interior of Celestia. "It's a tricky situation" said Bradley, "Indeed" replied Allcock, "However my cousin assures me that your previous experience on the Isla de Medio - both times - means you are the perfect man for the job." Bradley just grunted. The two had been discussing his orders to take a force of regulars to the allegedly wayward colony of Mesabi Landing on the south western tip of the Paradise Isles. "My cousin's source in Mesabi Landing arrived here last night, she is waiting to meet you in the markets to give you a brief on what you can expect to find in the settlement. It appears the WTC either got word of our impeding intervention, or for whatever reason decided to clean their act up. Things have apparently calmed down since she first arrived there." said Allcock "Shouldn't it be Mesabi's Landing - with an apostrophe?" queried Bradley "Apparently not" replied Allcock, deadpan. "This news of the construction of a fort is worrisome, I didn't realise private entities could construct fortifications in Her Majesties colonies" stated Bradley "My cousin assures me it is not illegal, although like you point out, it is somewhat irregular. He believes that the WTC will claim that the erratic behaviour of Major Mason at Fort Agravia necessitate them having their own protection" "If you ask me the only thing the Paradise Isles needs protection against right now is the WTC." shot back a somewhat irritated Bradley. "Now I have to leave the development of our most strategic post in the East Prio sea to supervise a colony controlled by an arrogant trade company and populated by horse eating drunks." Finally, the Major's frustration got the better of him, his composure slipping. Allcock sympathised with him but said nothing. Bradley sighed. "Duty was never meant to be easy. I shall go to Mesabi Landing" he stressed the last syllable of Mesabi, "Relieve Major Mason and replace the garrison of Fort Agravia, restore order in the streets and ensure the current order is not simply a sham" "Remember the Governor has given you full power to suspend civil government and institute Military law, although he is depending on your discretion to only use this as a last resort. The WTC has currently made overtures that it intends to reign in some of its somewhat questionable behaviour" "Yes, I've seen the declarations that they are unyieldingly loyal servants of Her Majesty, the gods help them if that proves wrong." stated Bradley with quiet determination. With those ominous words, the two parted ways. later that morning at the fish markets near the docks, where Major Bradley's troops were already loading transports. "They accused me of being a prostitute, then when I wouldn't accept any of there custom, a witch" sighed Jessica Campbell. Bradley looked at the very capable looking young women and decided that he wouldn't want to be on the end of one of her refusals. His keen eye could see at least one concealed pistol and what he suspected was a rather large knife. The story Jessica told matched the intelligence Governor Allcock had conveyed to him and Commander Allcock. The debauchery that existed when she had arrived had one day all of a sudden given way to ruthlessly enforced sobriety. It appeared Major Mason was ineffective, having succumbed to angry flights of rage and frustration. Bradley decided he would need to guard carefully against the same fate, although he had the Governors warrant if required. It would certainly be an interesting time... Mesabi Landing, mid February 618AE After several delays due to storms, Major Bradley and his men finally reached Mesabi Landing and marched towards the Fort Agravia, brass polished, flint tight in their muskets and making a great show of a professional fighting force. Major Bradley's first impressions of the settlement were that his intelligence was correct, the WTC had restored order. The WTC fort appeared finished and operational. He would present himself to the Mayor after sorting out Major Mason and Fort Agravia - unless of course the Mayor found him first.... --------------------------- A somewhat delayed part two - life has been crazy this year and I was focusing my reduced BoBS time on the challenge, so apologies to Drunknok for taking so long. It would appear by now that Governor Allcock's reply to Mordo has been lost in the same storms that delayed Major Bradley's arrival, something that will no doubt further complicate relations with the WTC !
  10. I admired this one on flickr before you posted, it is a very nice design, great work! I know you licensed her yourself, but will she be a Royal Navy ship in-character? Or will she remain a privately owned warship? Just curious
  11. Nice developments Kwatchi, I always enjoy your Charlatan Bay storyline, it's always interesting to see where it goes!
  12. The offset baseplate is indeed clever - great for adding modules later - I'll have to remember it! The surveying equipment is well done as well.
  13. Wow Captain Dee, my apologies for not commenting until now - this is quite the contribution and definitely brings the 'Royal' aspect to the project! The colourful and lively style is instantly recognisable with your gardens in King's Harbour. The duel carriage way was something that was bothering me about the project. The logical part of my mind objected to a single line of track as how would you achieve two-way travel? I just didn't have the rail line to correct this in my contribution however, so I'm glad someone was able to! The carriages themselves look great, I especially like the one carting the logs. I'm glad you included them, distracting or not they look great and really add to the scene! Overall a majestic contribution to the project, absolutely fantastic job!
  14. Autumn Trading House, a large commerce property for the settlement
  15. With her new official 'City' status, Jameston is fast becoming a major trading hub in the East Prio Sea. As more and more merchants flock to Jameston each trading cycle hoping to make it rich through trade deals, the settlement has recognised a need to support them. Thus a large trading house was planned, where merchants, ship's captains or company factors from all nations can meet together and buy and sell cargoes from all over the brick seas. In recognition of Eslandola's superior mercantile reputation and to honour the special relationship between Celestia and the Eslandolan colony of Otoño, the trading house has been named 'The Autumn Trading House' and one of the distinctive red foliaged trees that Governor Guilder sent to Governor Allcock has been planted out the front. The facility is provided to merchants from all nations on behalf of the settlement, free of charge. -------------- A large commerce for Jameston. My original plan was to build a 'green' commerce property for Jameston then a 'red' educational property for Hojaroja (Yep, I haven't finished building on Hojaroja yet!). I will probably still do this, however I really want my gift builds for Hojaroja to be real brick, so it will probably have to wait a bit! The carriage included in this build is not entirely my own design, but is a modified version of a carriage I found in the LDD designer gallery.
  16. A beautiful little scene Elos. That olive green base is especially good looking (and I am jealous of so many olive plates!) The lavender stalks and dark red leaves make a nice contrast. I have a suspicion we will indeed find out more about these natives
  17. The first vessel for this program, HMS Resolute. Purchased from The Oleon shipyards of Eltina. HMS Resolute by @Bodi
  18. A collaboration between @Bodi and @Ayrlego The concerning rise in piracy in the Brick seas in the last months has left many concerned. One of those was Colonel Dirk Allcock, Governor of the Paradise Isles in the East Prio Sea. With the Royal Navy concentrating on the conflict in the adaptly named Sea of Thieves, he is concerned that the East Prio sea is vulnerable. As naval matters are not his area of expertise, Colonel Allcock has consulted with his cousin in the Royal Navy, Commander Matthew Allcock and both are decided that along with the Gunboats for the Colonies scheme, the Paradise Isles should have some medium sized warships available for defence. As Governor, Colonel Allcock is willing to finance the purchase of a vessel for the Royal Navy to fulfil this purpose. However, the few Corlander shipyards in the New World are currently working at full capacity and were unable to accept a new contract for some time. An alternative solution was required. Oleon have always been well known for the high-quality vessels their shipyards produce, so the Allcocks mused, would their nations one-time bitter rival accept a contract for a vessel? It was rumoured that the Royal Shipyards at Eltina were open for contracts, so Commander Allcock was dispatched to Eltina to find out if a deal could be struck. Around the same time, Rear-Admiral Fletcher of the Royal Navy Terran Novan Fleet came to the same conclusion regarding the need for medium sized vessels in the colonies and subsequently launched the Sloops for the Royal Navy Scheme. As the vessel envisioned by the Allcocks matched his requirements for this scheme, it was decided to integrate the potential new vessel into this program. Royal Shipyard Office by Ayrlego Commander Allcock had never travelled to Oleon territory before and it felt strange to be on the streets of Eltina - a pair of the (for a Corlander) notorious Oleon grenadiers marched past in their bearskin hats. Grey and white robed priests were common on the streets. Commander Allcock paused outside the offices of the Royal Shipyard before entering. Although he wasn't hiding the fact he was a Corlander Officer, he had decided not to wear his uniform in Eltina, in deference to his hosts. The negotiations were surprisingly swift. In the spirit of the newly forming cooperation between once bitter rivals, the Eltina shipyards were very happy to accept an order for a Brig of War from the Allcocks. However, it was decided that for diplomatic reasons, the ship would be sold un-armed. The complement of Cannons would be supplied and mounted once the vessel reached its destination in Port Woodhouse. Commander Allcock left his factor in Eltina, to oversee the construction and returned to Port Woodhouse successful. Royal Shipyard office by Bodi With speed and efficiency which would impress even the Dee Shipyards of Corrington, soon the completed design was finished and launched, and a Corlander crew accepted delivery of the ship. Unarmed, the ship unter took it's maiden voyage to Port Woodhouse. HMS Resolute, unarmed by Bodi And soon after conducted a shake-down cruise, now armed with 14 cannons. HMS Resolute armed and with sails by Bodi ---- Thanks for viewing our collaboration and a huge thanks to Bodi for his awesome ship - all credit for which should be directed to him! My office scene is a gift to the good people of Eltina (represented by Bodi), who may license it as a small commerce however they deem fit. For a challenge, Bodi decided to replicate it, I believe both should be able to be licensed as they are different builds. The vessel itself will be licensed by Corrington as a Class 4 and donated by Allcock to the new Sloops for the Royal Navy scheme, which was somewhat conveniently launched just before we were ready to publish this collab!
  19. @Bregir Allcock will be happy to finance this initiative
  20. Sorry Mesabi, it was meant as tongue in cheek, hence the emoji. I literally had about 30 seconds to skim the article before I had to leave, I noticed the mistake and pointed it out - I certainly meant no offence.
  21. The WTC, can't even spell the name of their faction right
  22. Thanks, although it doesn't seem to have gone through - (EDIT: It's on February's sheet!) a link would be great too, but not essential!
  23. If you'd told me you were going to make a mine in the style of Stormhaven, there is no way I could of pictured it, however it seems you have pulled it off really well - This is really good! Nice to see our first (I think) operational gold mine.
  24. Another great entry Drunknok. The ruins blend into the vegetation really well and the river through the middle is a great detail, as is the tree with the olive green stalks and all the little brick-built flowers. As usual your macro flower is fantastic. The brick build skyline is good, if you could play with the depth of field in the photo a bit more I think it could probably benefit from being a little more out-of-focus (especially the second image), but that I know that is really tricky to do (having failed myself many times ). I love the story of the sun setting between the two pillars, very nice addition, although I'm not sold on the blue jewels on top of them. All up yet another fantastic entry from you, you're really on fire this challenge - great work!
  25. I don't think I've seen a BoBS tree house yet - this one is very cool! I love the bright colours and the description of Uncle's kids is hilarious. The flowing water of the waterfall also looks great. It's a privilege to have such an honoured guest in Jameston! Will you license as a medium residence?
