I can't agree more. Contests are meant to be challenging and something new, that why restrictions are good.
-
Silly me Should there be a minimum percentage of pieces from the A model used for the B model or not?
-
In was wondering if we could be allowed to have an extra few pieces for the B model so that it could be of an A model quality ?
-
Aww, I guess we now need to think inside the box! :p I think that this is a great contest and I have multiple ideas of what to build. EDIT: I was wondering if there was a 2 week wait before all WIPs ?

I would say both the A and B models. -
So as some of you might of seen me comment in the technic general discussion that I was wondering if anyone had ever made a lego 3 axis gimbal. I couldn't find any so I designed one myself in LDD. I had to do it in LDD because I don't own an EV3 nor three gyro sensors. It works by counter acting the motion of the gyro sensors with the motors. This design would be fit for a GoPro or another action cam. It was rendered with Bluerender, it's an LDD rendering software that was created by a fellow EB member. The camera would be attached on the grey section. The LDD file is can be downloaded here. I can make instructions if someone would like them. I would be very great-full if someone would build. Thanks, (PLEASE BUILD IT )

Has anyone one ever built a working 3 axis gimbal out of lego? I wanted to record stable videos and thought that the gyro sensor for the ev3 coul see help make a good gimbal. -

I was wondering if this project was still going on or not? -
Anyone know what IP could mean for the ultimate IP car? Could it be some of these? -Internet protocol -Interesting person -iPerson ;) -Injured person -Intellectual property I would say it's probably the last one. We're getting a 'Smart' car guys, How good is that ? Though I hope it's not this type of Smart car:

Not amazing RPM but it's possible. I would highly recommend opening your cylinders and replacing the grease with some better type of lubricant, even plain old vegetable oil works well for me.

Yay! I got first place at the bottom of the list! Congratulations to the winners and all the contestants!

Well, bricks are 1.5 studs tall so it shouldn't really matter, plus this is a technic competition so it should be easier because technic beare 1x1xlength studs long. If we are going the cm or inches, I would not use inches since only three countries officially use it, therefore the rest of the world might have trouble finding an inch ruler. -
[MOC] RC Motorcycle
Epic Technic replied to Epic Technic's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As I said in the OP, I was inspired and got the ideas from Slewentogzz ;) I sadly only have offroad wheels but don't let the size of my weight confuse you its just a few metal magnet balls, it actually weighs about the same as a weighted brick, its just that I don't have one available. Guys you should remember that SLEWENTOGZZ is the true genius behind the steering. -

Thanks all of you guys! -
So I have always wanted to build a RC motorcycle but didn't know how to, until YouTuber Slewentogzz showed two working designs. I built it Friday the 13th in one long afternoon. It isn't modeled after anything special, it was mainly an experiment with building a bodied rc motorcycle. This is my second working design. It uses a weight that is shifted from side to side for the steering with free to move front forks. The video doesn't make itself justice; they do work, it's just that it's difficult to control and film; you have to build one yourself. Functions: -propulsion - Buggy motor -steering - servo -battery box - AAA box -receiver - PF IR v1 (this servo didn't work with my v2) -full suspension The video: Some pictures: I hope you like it!

Well, don't have a foot pump, I only have a handheld bicycle pump that definitely does not get to 100 psi very easily.

That's actually a very good idea, thanks. It gives me the idea that the can could be built inside a car and there would be a throttle system to let air out. Was your LPE modified, and did it use the new or old style switches ? How long did one spray can last you? I have tried but it doesn't get at a very high pressure, nor does it run for very long. If you want a bunch of pneumatics, buy the 8455 from bricklink, though it does cost around $140.

It finally worked with a 24t-20t-24t gear combination and a 'front panel thing'. The next issue is that even my four LEGO hand pumps aren't enough to get it rotating at a decent rpm. I need to find a method to get high air pressures, however, I do not have access to an air compressor, nor dry ice. Any help is appreciated

I dont have that many chains :( I know, I am going to make a front 'plate thingy' for it then try.
-
No space inside but I could easily build an extra front panel and it would do the same. Thanks!

Sadly all of the 24t-20t-24t; 20t-24t-20t; 8t-36t-8t; and 36t-8t-36t just slip when I try them. Though an idea just popped up in my mind, what if I had a 24t-20t-24t then a chain around it. Could it better distribute the forces? But first I need to find a few more chain links in my big box of LEGOs (it might take some time ).
