Whoa, that habitation module is amazing! Love the overall shape, but the door especially. Really dig the landscape too. I'm awful at landscape so I appreciate when others do it well.

Hey, it's me! ;) Love the landscape and that big, beautiful ship. Glad I wasn't red shirted like Trooper 2!

Love Madam, her detachable pod and MARIE! The complete package. Kickin design on all 3!

A lot of great humor in the build. The magnifying glass droids are my favorite!

The whole house inside and out is incredible!

Great story! Like the build too, good landscape and nice craft. Hope to find out what it is in the future.

That is a really great fighter with a lot of greebling. I know what it is like having to get back into it. Most of my stuff is from the 80s/90s. I'm still wrapping my head around SNoT!

Fantastic story! Love the builds and especially the last one. Great footsteps, great actions and love the details like the icicles! Go Octan.

Location: F09 - Arium Minor Tags: Science, Octan, Civil, Vehicle // PERSONAL DIARY // As a recent graduate of the Octan Science Academy (with honors!) I was excited to see my first assignment in the real world. I'd been sent to Arium Minor to work with Dr. Martenz. I hadn't been quite sure what I would be doing, but it felt good to finally be able to contribute and Dr. Martenz was well regarded within the company. Upon arrival at the Octan Corp ship on planet I introduced myself to Dr. Martenz and was a bit saddened by how little attention he seemed to pay to my arrival. He seemed distracted by his work and quite busy. He said that some of the local alien pathogens were fascinating and had a lot of potential in the biomass field. He then said he needed me to take a pair of monkeys from Medical down to the Lab. They had been exposed to some of the pathogens and he needed them monitored. I tried to tell him that while I minored in xenobiochemology that my primary field of expertise was robotics including drones and autonomous vehicles. He asked if I had taken the "REQUIRED clinicals" at the academy, to which I had to say I had. We were short staffed at the moment he explained and given that I knew the proper safety protocols and had a containment suit I would need to contribute to the needs of the company and not be as worried about my own desires. "There will be plenty of opportunities to play with your robots!" he said rather dismissively. Obviously he thought of himself as a true scientist and I was merely a boy playing with toys to him. But he was an important scientist and I didn't want to make a bad first impression so I complied. I had been a bit worried about his repeated warnings to keep my containment suit on and NOT let the monkeys escape. Plus it was disconcerting that he asked if all of my next of kin info had been filled out. The dart gun mounted near my seat seemed more for show than to actually be used. I made sure to drive very carefully and ensure my cargo made it to the Lab safely. It may not be how I pictured my post-Academy life, but it certainly isn't boring! Apologies for the bad pictures and quick build, I joined mid-week and thus was quite rushed. Hopefully churn out better stuff going forward! Go Octan!

OK, got a build started for this week. It isn't much I'm afraid, but it should grab us a few points. My weekends are crazy busy so I'll finish it up tonight and grab a few photos, including one of my minifig. Then I'll post tomorrow. I'll try and start thinking more ahead so once I'm building further out they should improve versus just building against the clock.

I'll submit my resume to Octan corp for a scientist role. I see they have matching 401k and dental! Between SoNE and this, gonna really see what my brick supply can handle. I'll have to get a sigfig pic, for now feel free to give me generic scientist.

So I have nothing "Octan" branded (and likely the wrong greens/reds), can I still join Octan? I have a fair bit of white and I think it will photograph better than Mantis.

I love the original inspiration and you did a fantastic job capturing the spirit of that building. I like all the little realistic touches you included too. Has a very sunny European feel to it!

Wow, love this. Looks retro-futuristic. A sort of space faring Gee Bee. Just the right amount of chunkiness and some very lovely detailing.

I think the color scheme works well. Totally agree that the aft space would be well used for storage. Seems a shame to have it just empty. Great build and I love seeing LDD -> bricks happen.

That is really incredible. Looks just like the show! I loved that episode. I'm finding myself liking the show more than I figured I would given the audience intended.

Great sense of motion from the posing. The slight head turn on spidey towards the scout really sells it.- 11 replies

Out of the blue I got a message from my old childhood friend Zosj. His unit was being reassigned and he was going to be on Nar Eurbrikka for a week picking up some supplies before they moved to their new posting. I knew this was a rare opportunity for us to catch up and I had plenty of leave saved up, so I put in for a few days off. He suggested we get away from everything and rent a couple speeder bikes so we could take them up to the old Ha'Ka'Le Temple in the nearby mountains. It was offseason for the temple, the usual school groups wouldn't be there. It wasn't cold out, but it was cool and the guides only operated during the warmer months. I'd never made it up there myself, but knew some other pilots who had and they said it was a very interesting historical place to visit. When I made it to town Zosj had already rented the speeder bikes and was waiting. He looked about the same as when I had last seen him, but different. I couldn't really say how he looked different, he just did. We shook hands and exchanged brief pleasantries before the conversation just trailed off. I asked if he was ready to head up and he said he was. I expected to have him suggest we race to see who could get there first, knowing that as a scout trooper he had an advantage, but he never did. Maybe he had matured and that is what seemed different. The nearly hour we spent on the speeder bikes was in silence. Zosj was never the most talkative sort, but I fully expected something... anything. Not a word. I just trailed after him and he wasn't even going along at his usual breakneck pace. It was controlled and orderly. When we got to the temple we parked out bikes and looked at the outside. A further few minutes stretched on without talking or anything really. When he finally spoke it was jarring as it seemed so out of place amid our long silence. "This place used to be the center of the lives of the Ha'Ka'Le people. They would come here every day. They worked tirelessly to build this place and then it was the center of their existence for hundreds of years. Then through technology, marrying foreigners, and other things they just ... vanished. This is all that is left to prove they ever were. None of it mattered." I knew it was more than a history lesson about the Ha'Ka'Le. He was revealing his own thoughts. I wasn't sure what to say, so I just stayed silent hoping he would continue. "My last posting was rough. How has it been aboard the Avenger?" "At times fun. At times sad. I'm alone in my cockpit, so it is quiet. When you lose another pilot you don't really hear anything, it is just nothing. They aren't there. You get back to the ship and they are gone. But we try to make up for that by doing a lot together as pilots and within our own unit. I have some good guys watching my back." Zosj let out a big sigh before speaking again. "Not like that on the ground. The locals didn't want us there. The rebels... they'd snipe at us every chance they got and supplied the locals too. I was scared and clueless when I first arrived at our outpost, but the sergeant in charge showed me what to do. Six weeks in he and I were headed to our "showers", really little more than a hose with some boards for privacy, after we'd spent the morning repairing a speeder bike. I realized along the way I'd forgotten my shave kit in the barracks, so I went back to get it while he continued on. Part way to the shower with my shave kit in hand a rebel supplied rocket obliterated the showers. We were supposed to be there to bring order to the chaos of their planet. Different factions fighting all the time; we were supposed to keep the peace. During my time there we had an 80% casualty rate. I don't even know how or why I'm still here beside pure chance. And in a hundred years none of what we did will matter or be remembered. Probably even sooner." As we returned to silence we headed into the temple. We admired the craftsmanship and artistry done with such primitive tools. It was hard to imagine the space as it was used instead of being a historical site. Once it was full of people and vibrant, now just a historical footnote. I better understood Zosj's taciturnity and choice for our outing. Please critique and judge. Extra pics below:

I really like this set and it has a great deal of play features. I'd buy several!
