Very nice! I am not familiar with this train and had to google some pictures of the prototype. Other than the green isn't quite the right shade, you nailed the shape and details. I browsed around the Flickr account and was very impressed with the rest of the contributions. Why haven't we seen that Rio Grande train featured here? Hope it doesn't take 7 more years to see more of your work!

To quote M'Lynn in the movie Steel Magnolias: "That sanctuary looks like it's been hosed down with Pepto Bismol!" Nice MOC!

Thanks for for all those great links! One question: how do you power 4 motors?

Mmmmm...Bacon..... Are the side rods complete? There are some obvious missing parts for full functionality. Who is selling those plans? I've not stumbled across them yet and would like to do this project. Thanks!

Very nice FIRE train! Any chance a moderator could fix the title?

Interesting theme and very well executed! The tilted buildings and cracked street leave no doubt what has happened. My only comment would be to use some of the building colors for the rubble.

How is this not front page!! Boats, subs, trains, cranes, buildings, lights...the list goes on of all the amazing details. Any chance for some shot of the cut-away sub? All your work is amazing. Thanks for sharing! -

Looks great!!! Any shots of the backside? -
That is absolutely gorgeous! Those curves both on the fins and the rocket body are exceptional! I would love to know some of the techniques you used to accomplished those curves.

I always enjoy the TB layouts. Beautiful scenes with lots of trees, buildings, and people. How big was this layout? Is it just set up for shows or does your club have a home?

My 8-car train (2 engines, three 2-car sets) runs just fine with the motor installed in the front engine as per the instructions. I would think you might have some front end derailment problems pushing exclusively from the back.

Don't give up now! It can be done! I'm sure that you have read most of my tips in this thread and the one over on Brickset tagged above. The first thing that you have to do is re-enforce the frame so that the top bar does become a handle that will support all the weight. The part that made the most difference was adding 4x32555 to the frame. I think I've got a picture of that addition but I need to go find it.Once the frame is modified, you can actually swoosh it around. Once done, here is the order I assemble it in. 1. Break the legs into 2 sections above the knees. 2. Set the feet on on two 48x48 plates as shown in one of these threads. 3. Place the lower portion of the legs on the feet. 4. Attach head to neck. 5. Attach head/neck assemble to the frame. 6. Attach upper portion of legs to the "hips". The front legs will stick out the front and the back legs stick out the back. 7. Attach the two sides and adjust as needed. 8. Now comes the part where help is very useful. Lift up the ATAT by the handle which will now support all of the weight. Hold it over the legs. Have your helper attach the legs. Let the body settle into the legs and let go carefully. 9, Set the 3 roof plates on. 10. Ta-dah!

I really like your track side structure series that you are doing but the one doesn't look quite right. I think it is the use of the palisade bricks on the upper level. If this was modeled after a real building, what would account for the change in building materials? Too much "The Old West" look. ......But this is just an opinion from a guy that hasnt build anything new in 8 months so keep on brickin'!

Looks great. The top really captures the feel of a tin roofed - rusted! (Yes, a nod to the B-52's). Maybe it 's the new Love Shack! By the way, does your club modify all of your switches to take out the extra curve?

"Now yes, I know Luke did not pilot a snowspeeder with orange markings, but who was ever cared about this with the original snowspeeder back in 1999 and its reboot in 2003?" Well, I'll be darned. I never noticed that before! Was it Hobie that drove the ZZ Top variant? I've been enjoying the progress and look forward to the finished model.

Looks great!! Does the cockpit rotate and the wings hinge flat? How does the scale compare to other USC models? How "swooshable" is it? Any plans to share the LDD files? Third picture from the bottom shows that the underside of the wings are as smooth as the top.

Beautiful! The canal side reminds me of Venice. Hope the water doesn't get too high! Nice touch with the cattails and lily pads.

It's the New Republic's Blue Angel flight demonstration team version!

Just when I thought it couldn't get better! Those engine vanes look really good now. One point of weakness is going to be the attachment point of the slope 75 2x1x3 on the rear of the wings. Anyway to extend that 1x plate by 1 stud to help? Also, you add more layer of 1x plates (5 studs worth) on the wing edges where the 1x tiles are now. You could then cover the end of the 75 slope with a tile and both ends of it would be held. The one exposed stud on the slope 14 4x1 could now be covered with a cheese wedge piece.

I, too, have loved watching the evolution of your design. I'm not 100% sold on the SNOT wings (the wing tips are too thick for my taste) but you have nailed all the major aspects of the model (especially the engine grill ) . Now stop stalling and build it!! I guarantee that you will find several small structural flaws to correct.

DSC01189 by Scott Roys, on Flickr DSC01200 by Scott Roys, on Flickr Here's a couple snowspeeders that I heavily modified from the current set #79045. I was very happy with the way the engine vanes in the back turned out. I struggled with cockpit and an not 100% happy with it but it's not too bad. Maybe I'll use some of your ideas to tweak the design. They were part of this display: DSC01208 by Scott Roys, on Flickr
