  1. Alsterarkaden by Scott Roys, on Flickr I was playing around on LDD this morning and came up with this mod for the arches. They are 32 studs wide and 10 bricks tall.
  2. Or better yet would be a pair of #2339 (Brick, Arch 1x5x4 - Continuous Bow) to achieve a full 180 degree arch like the real thing. Very nice building!
  3. Did a double take on that photo of the court house as it looks very similar to my home town county seat. Great interior! The mayor has a lot of skeletons in the closet! The floor pattern sure made me chuckle. Looking forward to seeing it "in place" on your layout.
  4. Overall, a real feast for the eyes! The park, the gazebo and the restaurant are all very harmonious! Nice use of the minifgs to make the build come alive! The only thing that looks out of place (to me) is the top of the carousel. It's too tall and the color does not complement the rest of the scene. Looks kind of gloomy. I will say that is a very innovative use of the QAR sails, though! Thanks for sharing.
  5. Great! Looking forward to seeing your version of that very cool ship!
  6. Nicely done! What's the larger ship that they will compliment?
  7. Great vignette! Where is the secret stash of fireworks?
  8. I've got 6 cars on my HE and the magnatic couplers work as advertised. On the last picture, that is just the May give-away that usually comes from a different shipping point. You will get your PAB order later.
  9. I picked up a used 4558 from Craigslist. The box was in better shape but it does not have the interior packing materials. I'm curious as to what the piece of literature is in the upper left of the instruction picture that show the pirate and space man fleeing from the train on a handcar. Also, since this is an old thread, did you ever build it for Christmas?
  10. Not recently! I built the coachs for the Christmas 2013 tree set-up. The baggage cars and Observation followed in the spring.
  11. and the best thing is that no expensive #6556 tan windows! The reddish-brown plate hinges are a bit hard to find though.
  12. Abe has to sit to give his Whistle Stop speechs since his hat is so tall! (Yes, I know he's not the correct President for that event or era). You are correct on the doors. You have to take the roof off and pop them open with your finger since the thickness makes them bind up. But they look nice!
  13. I think I solved my own problem. The issue seems to lie with using Explorer as the browser. I switched to Google Chrome and was able to copy the BBCode into Eurobricks just fine.
  14. DSC01242 by Scott Roys, on Flickr DSC01232 by Scott Roys, on Flickr DSC01230 by Scott Roys, on Flickr Here's a mere 10.5 ft of Emerald Night. Two powered loco's, 3 baggage cars, 5 passenger cars, and 1 observation car.
  15. DSC01240 by Scott Roys, on Flickr DSC01235 by Scott Roys, on Flickr DSC01236 by Scott Roys, on Flickr Here's a couple shots of my baggage cars and observation car I built for my Emerald Night. I am particular fond of the 24 stud "shorty" baggage car at the head of the train. As you can see the doors on the baggage cars do open but with some difficulty.
  16. DSC01071 by Scott Roys, on Flickr Here's all of the my Modulars plus a few extra buildings on a train layout I had set up last February. I like extra levels for the CC and the GE and the Parisian Cafe is built mirror image so the deck is not next to a building.
  17. I am now having issues with posting pictures. Basically, nothing happens when I try to copy or paste the BBCode or image into the Eurobricks comment box. Any thoughts?
  18. I would love to have anything that you could put together but I dont want to have you go to any extra work. I just hate to waste time to figure something out that someone has already perfected and your running gear looks and works great. Are you going to make some log cars to go with it?
  19. Looks great! The only thing that bothers me is that the shield generator domes are perpendicular with the slope of the bridge instead of standing straight up. I think this could be easily solved with some combination of hinge pieces.
  20. Very funny! You didnt over-do the destruction part of the video. Maybe you could show Luke "using the force" to avoid a spud or two before the ultimate destruction. Right now, the Obi-wan segment doesnt make sence to the story sence he's already been blasted.
  21. Pure speculation, but I wonder if this years Winter Village set will be a train. I know the info released says that the WV set will be a "toy shop" but that could just be a place holder since the toy shop was the name of the first WV set and it seems unlikly that it would be repeated.
  22. Wow!!! It looks so authentic! And the fact that you have it powered with not just one but TWO motors in the engine (vice the tender) is a testimate to your engineering skills. Any chance that you have LDD instructions that could be obtained? I would love to use that as a start of a Uintah #50/Sumpter Valley #250.
  23. 12 volt: Looking forward to more pictures of that fantastic set-up! Got a layout big enough to run them?
  24. Sign me up for the LDD files! Cant wait to start this project! (And I cant thing of a better post to be promoted to "citizen" on!!!
  25. Duq: How so you know that sales of the HE were disappointing? Totally agree with the rest of your points but hopefully it's not justification as to why we will never see another Creator train.
