  1. Take a look at this thread of my layout: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102373&st=25
  2. Not to be harsh but we have given plenty of advise on trains and now you're way off topic. Your question can be easily answered with a google search and it will lead you to either brickpicker.com or bricklink.com. Take the time to get familiar with Bricklink because it can answer most any Lego question including the one above.
  3. What trouble are you having with Bircklink? Unless you are trying to re-create a rare set whose Instructions are worth $100.00 or more (like #10190 Market Street) it is rarely cheaper to buy the parts individually. Any savings on individual parts will be eaten up by shipping from a multiple of vendors. The best value is to buy used sets from a seller that has a lot of feedback and states in the description that the set is complete. Here is a good example: http://www.bricklink...itemID=78628618 Here is a link to the full line of Western sets that came out in 1996-1997: http://www.bricklink...=S&catString=69
  4. Keep an eye on ebay for track lots like this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-City-Grey-Train-Track-Lot-33-Curved-17-Straight-and-2-Switch-Tracks-/272168586798?hash=item3f5e830e2e:g:lScAAOSwxp9W5ZTe Be careful that your not paying premium price for the old 9v metal tracks which you do not need with the newer Power Function system which has all plastic track. You can go to Lego.com and buy track and now is a good time since they have double VIP points: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Trains-ByTheme Welcome to the club!
  5. I received my order today for one 1/2 circle of 56r ABS curves that I placed back in January. I was surprised to also receive one package of double straight track and sample pack of silver rail and dark brown cross ties. From reading above, this looks to be meant for the Kickstarter folks which I was too late to participate in. I am happy to pay for these items as I do not feel that I deserve them. I am certainly looking forward to future products and am very happy with the new possibilities I have incorporated into my layout with your current products. THANKS!! 6. Are you aware of this product? https://www.sbrick.com/ I've got a these running a couple trains and they work pretty good. Looks like yours may have more functions and new products are always welcome! Good luck!
  7. Looks like a good start! Don't be afraid to mix is some over colors for a little more variety like I did on this small Hoth diorama. DSC01212 by Scott Roys, on Flickr
  8. I always love seeing your stuff and finding new inspiration for my layout. I'm going to have to steal the prison work team vignette and "the cut" is high on my list to copy. I've very curious about the tables. They look like they collapse quickly and are light-weight: two things my tables are not!
  9. No real issues here. I attach the head to the neck and then attach that sub-assemble to the body BEFORE the legs are on.
  10. I think it is cheapest to find one that is 90% complete and finish up with Bricklink. Every time I Bricklink something, I always find extra parts that I need/want and I loose track of how much is spent on the original!
  11. DSC01157 by Scott Roys, on Flickr LIke this?
  12. Funny story about the Station. I bought the plans for a guy selling them on eBay. As I was building it, it became obvious that the designer had never built it since it had several structural problems and multiple none-existent bricks. I wrote the designer a nice critique but never heard from him and never saw the plans on eBay again. I guess some cant take a little constructive criticism!
  13. DSC01466 by Scott Roys, on Flickr DSC01478 by Scott Roys, on Flickr A couple shot from this years show. Bigger and better than last year! A lot more action with two operating trains (1 PF and 1 9V), two Ferris wheels, the monorail, the WV merry-go-round and the mixer. Flickr album here:

  15. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102373&st=25 Not much time this morning, but checkout my thread on the same subject. For the kids, the seek-and-find was a great thing for them to do rather than running your trains.
  16. Brickshelf says that you have not made your pictures public yet.
  17. Situated at the former Munitions storage depot: Eastriggs near Carlisle Based on this quote, I assume that it was a former government installation.
  18. Here's all the superlatives that I could find to describe this creation: amazing!, astonishing!, outstanding!, surprising!, dumbfounding!, stupendous! shocking!, remarkable!, wonderful!, incredible!, marvelous!, spectacular!, and beyond belief! Really, you guys set the bar high and provide a ton motivation/inspiration for the rest of us mere mortals. I know that you have no idea how many piece are in the roundhouse but how many 1x2 tan plates did you order from Lugbulk? A staggering amount I'm sure! Any idea what the next project will be? This seems hard to top!
  19. I wonder what the equipment looked like. Very interesting that it was installed starting in 1990. Lots of government waste here!
  20. Issue #24 of Brick Journal had an article on brick-built monorails. One of the featured builders, Masao Hidaka, is in one photo in the latest issue #38 on page 69.
  21. Perfect! All I needed was a general idea of the basics from which to deviate. Thanks.
  22. Nice layout and a great bunch of custom trains! That HE at the station is looking rather puny next to the rest of your 8 wide stuff. You said that you got the Bigboy instructions off line. Do you still have the link? Been wanted to do a mallet.
  23. The phrase "check this out" is usually followed by a video of some drunk redneck about to do something incredibly stupid and painful! Not this time. My goodness, that is a thing of beauty! At first glance, it doesn't look like Lego but then you realize that the scale is enormous!
  24. Don't be afraid to order from European stores. This guy does does not add 4% for paying by Paypal which a lot of Euro stores do. Shipping rates are clearly stated so no surprise there. If he has a bulk of the pieces you need, you will be money and time ahead of buying them from Lego. http://www.bricklink...itemID=44905165 His per piece price is cheaper than Lego.com. I would also add that Pick-a-Brick or Bricks & More is dreadfully slow to the USA since they ship those items from the Homeland. Expect 6 weeks at least and shipping costs (unless you top $100.00 for your order). Good looking Engine shed! I'd make a few changes to include: - Doors that are hinged on both sides and rounded on the top. - More pitch and detail on the roof. Those ramps make an easy roof but are rather plain compared to the rest of your highly detailed model. Also that piece is expensive at about a $1.00 each and you need about 48 of them! http://www.bricklink...&ColorID=86 I've got a nice design that looks like a ridged tin roof if interested. - Roof vents! Need some place for the steamers smoke to escape!
  25. Can you call this an MOC? or just a decent photoshop?
