You've got everything there, you just might want a bit (read "a lot") more track to have a decent sized layout. A simple oval get mighty boring after a while, trust me.

Looks like it was moved from the Town forum.

Cool! I'll see if I can make it. Martinez is a bit far away from Pleasanton, though.

Are you using the wheels with the traction band? The ones w/o the rubber band don't give you very much traction.

The station is going to be rebuilt? I think it looks awesome! Don't tear it down!

Lego Ideas Project: The Polar Express
detjensrobert replied to Lego Dino 500's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Looks good, but will probably not make it through the approval stage on lego ideas mainly due to the fact that it s 8 wide (not that that is a bad thing). Lego group has stuck to 6 wide. Other than that, nice build!!- 6 replies

PF Battery Box or PF Rechargeable Battery Box
detjensrobert replied to legotrainfan's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That is what a lot of people do. They use "Eneloop" batteries in the AAA bat box. -
^^^^ Did you modify the World City freight engine?
-
True, but it runs just fine on curves (and straights if pulled). I'll see if I can scrounge up a video to show you guys.

Sorry to bump an old topic, but ive had a similar problem. One of my 9v motors works perfectly, but the other "jitters" on straights. It jerks or lurches forward (if that makes any sense). The gap between the flanges and the motor is clean, however, the spring that pushes on the flanges is slightly weaker than the ones on the other 9v motor. Has anybody else had this problem/knows how to fix it? Again, sorry to bump an old topic. I didnt want to start a new one when I saw this one.

Awesome idea! Now you can make working level crossing gates. Also: I think I've seen people do something similar with isolated 9v track/ motors driven by PF. I'll see if I can find it again...

Best way to power 2 HE (10233) with PF
detjensrobert replied to Rumpelmuck's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think what dr_spock meant was the powered engine in the rear of the train, pushing instead of pulling. -
I was thinking 'whats with the dinky wheels?' and then I saw the croc arms! Awesome concept!

Try either an old 9v battery or an 9v battery ()
