  1. Oh now I get it. Very clever idea, to bad it does not work. Very good solution for the steering geometry for different angles when turning left or right. The tracked version looks really playable and very fun. I remain cheering for you to succeed on the red one ;-) Best regards, Miha
  2. Thanks Lasse, for your kind words - indeed the slack is the problem - My carrier was quite sturdy at the top but the spreader at the most bottom also didn't help. The main killer was the slack in the small turntables I think. Each individual wheel had just to mach free movement available. I don't quite understand that solution with the gray frames pulling the steering in and out - was this statical solution or active with some motor or lever that does the job? It might work on treads better yes, but takes all the realism out of the creation as you wrote. Still, I think it's worth a shot. Good luck.
  3. Very cool - string operated clutch! Fanatacstic idea.
  4. Wow, seems that you are almost done ? Great work.
  5. It's been ages since I've joined a contest here on EB. Luckily, seems the time and other circumstances are just right and I've never built a motorbike MOC before, so this contest realy tickled me. I am not much of WIP topics guy, but it seems that people here mostly like WIP topics, so here is what I've managed so far... who knows where and what this will end up to be... we'll see I guess. Not sure if I'll be able to cram something soficticated in its belly... not to much space I'm affraid. Best regards and Merry Christmas everybody!
  6. Oh my,... such pedigree! Are you sure you are not just trying to intimidate us with all with this? On the other hand, maybe it is really harder for you, with many things already achieved on motorbike MOCs, than it is for me - I have never built a MOC motorbike and I do admit I feel tempted - although I don't know anything about motorbikes... We'll see how it goes... There are some free days ahead... Best regards, Miha
  7. With ease, it's LEGO we are talking about You just stick a number to it...
  8. @Jurss Not that I know of. I see only icons and name of the files. That goes for my home laptop and desktop at work as well. Never mind, video says it all. Sorry for messing up the topic. Again, very nice creation!
  9. Wow, no way, totaly panels-free and still such a good shape without stacking beams. Very good look and functionality. Maybe I would still try to fill in the blade a bit, but that's just me.
  10. I cannot see the photos...
  11. Very nice! How much does it weigh? Maybe it could use a bit softer suspension.
  12. Thank you for encouragement, but no third party parts are allowed on ideas - this carrot has buwizz ticking inside of him ;-) There is no room for using LEGO PF small battery and 2 receivers... at least not aestheticaly. Yes, I was surprised as well. The last lucky lady was the second from the left in the upper row in my signature photo. Stil haven't made a presentation. It is waiting in boredom on the shelf above my desk. Coming to think of it... this signature photo should be updated...or even better... tossed away. Thanks again everyone for really nice comments. If eel truly honored by them. Oh, and @proran, I hope this will satisfy your needs Best regards and may all of you have a pleasant and healthy end of the year. Cheers! P.S.: Only now I noticed I messed up the description of the truck and bed - the bed is tilted with additional M motor which is ran on the same output as the compresor, but over a PF switch. Just to be clear
  13. Thank you I forgot to mention that hands free phone is also a feature of this MOC Yes there is a nice ammount of those handles :-) Ideas platform prooved many times, that it is not suitable for LEGO Technic models, so I don't even consider this option. Also, U400 is an already done SET for LEGO and I highly doubt they will have another go with it, ever... Also, if a miracle would happen, and by a fraction of a chance this would reach 10k votes, you are right, there is no way it would pass the QA/QC tests and other rules for LEGO products due to some building tehniques and quite hard assembly of some parts. Regarding instructions - it will be done - but don't expect it any time soon...
  14. Heheh, good stuff! I wonder how do banana gears look after the procedure - are they fused with the metal powder?
  15. This is in no way a set MOD - completely new build in much smaller scale. But yes, the intention was to have all the functions as the 8110 and more. As written before, instructions are planned, but not very soon...video first also not so very soon but sooner than instructions :-)
  16. My thoughts exactly. There'd better be something very new in that yellow boy...
  17. I am ashaimed to say, that somehow I managed to miss this fantastic ingeniuous build. The loco looks amazing, very accurate and the mechanisms are just splendid. Of course I supported on Ideas. Well done, hope you reach the milestone. Best regards, Miha
  18. Wow, first of all, thank you all for such a good reception. It really feels good and rewarding to receive so many nice comments from each and every one of you Thank you! I am affraid that you would probably lose that bet. I don't know the part count yet, but the winter version with gritter and plough weighs a ton - well 2286 g exactly (including buwizz, which is quite light) so together with the bed, winch and crane I guess there will be quite a lot of parts. Thank you my friend. Was really nice getting your feedback. It was actually you who inspired me with your many UNIMOG creations, and the new middle size tires of couse - those just screamed "8110 remake" to me when I bought them I must credit @Zerobricks and this post of his for the idea to make the portal axles in a way that the bottom gear is not braced from outside and therefore making it compact. I never thought, taht such design would actually work, but so far, so good. And I must especially thank a guy from Facebook, whose name I have long forgotten: When I posted my first wip photos in some technic groups there, he shot me down imediately, saying that that is no U400, as it doesn't have portal axles. I tried harder, saw that post from Zerobricks, and voila...made it. Seems that situation is getting better with frontpaging Technic MOC, thanks to @Milan Dear @steph77 , I think I just might have dropped a tear of happiness reading your comment, really, may sound cheesy, but that just might be best praise, I ever received And from such a great builder. Respect is very much mutual Thank you. Good observation! Yes it is indeed at its limit, I guess if the axles at the back of the truck would be braced better, it would have had serious problems, but since those u-joints are a bit further from the last brace of the axle, there is enough slack to work. I simply couldn't find any better solution to position the PTO's so i have them sideways through the chassis girders - the middle sections was packed full and I wanted to have a fake engine at the front as well. Thanks. I agree, I think full combo from all type of bricks brings best results. I find myself not being able to leave the "system" bricks out of my builds anymore. Also, why would we constraint ourselves to 100% technic, 100% system or 100% of whatever creations Thanks again to all of you. I hope to make video sooner than usual, and I am almost positive to work on instructions right after the video is done. Best regards, Miha
  19. Hello everyone! I can't believe it's been 18 months since my last MOC actually finished. Well, here is the latest to join the party: Unimog U400... and no, it isn't a MOD of 8110, that one is two times bigger ? Sadly, I don't have the 8110 to shoot them side by side, but I will try to borrow it so that the "daddy&son" bonding moment can be documented Maybe I'll be good enough to even finish the video until New Year... but then again, probably not so soon, not to mention the instructions...? Unfortunately, I move in a much slower time dimension ? Features: TRUCK: • Should be around 1:16ish, scale, tires as a starting point, • Buwizz powered, • XL for drive + fake 4in line engine with fan, • servo for steering with working steering wheel, • M motor for front and rear PTO, • L motor for compressor, pneumatic attachment front and rear, • M motor for bed (activated with PF switch), on the same buwizz output as the compressor, bed can be raised in all three directions, • cabin tilt (manually, a bit poor - two orange tiles below direction light must be removed), • detailed cabin with opening doors, • live portal axles, front with “floating” differencial • 3 differentials • trailer hitch with additional PTO, CRANE • Crane outriggers and rotation over a PTO, • 3 manual pneumatic valves for operating the crane, WINCH • manual clutch to cut off the PTO, • automatic brake against unwinding, PLOUGH • pneumatic valves for raising and switching sider, GRITTER • PTO powered double auger (two salt compartments) + rotating dispenser, • manually operated stands WINTER IS COMING! I hope you like it. Please be patient about the video...I will prepare it as soon as possible. Best regards, Miha P.S.: Some more photos of the axles and the under side can be found here.
  20. Great idea and execution. I've known about CPT tests, but didn't know about this type of truck. Well done.
  21. Fantastic - I wanted this set so badly as a kid - still do :-) Wonderfull recreation!
  22. Applauding with the others! Fantastic looks and magnificent use of space inside.
  23. Very nice MOC, the only thing that doesn't look all right to me is that panel in front f the rear wheels - looks like it is too big for the model. Otherwise very cool and I like it that it is not obsessed with filling the gaps ;-)
  24. Great job as always I wonder how much more expensive this version would be. Regarding the fake engine - I find use of the part 6575 smoother due to its eliptical shape and takes up same space as 2L thin liftarm while rotating.
