Is it supposed to be the innards of a smoke detector?

Every time I have suggested the existence of a majority of LEGO themes sharing a canon universe or universes, based on cameos and crossovers, I have always noticed that strong sentiments commonly arise in quick response to this. Because of this, I created this thread. Now, this thread is not a thread for why you disagree with one or another of the many theories regarding canon, or a thread for you to comment on why you think other people are foolish for linking themes together in their personal canons. This is a thread for you to share your own personal views as to what sort of universe or universes you see your figs occupying - even universes based on personal imaginatings, and not on canon. Hopefully, we'll see enough different views to start a general index of opinions on the subject. (The index will mainly be focused on LEGO Co.-centric canons, completely imagined ones would be hard to categorize for obvious reasons. We may very well create a unique index for completely imagined ones at some point, but separate from the canon-based one.) What sort of universe, or universes, do you, the individual person that is reading this, consider the various themes to occupy or share? Because this could quickly go down-hill, a couple of basic rules(these may be added to, as time goes on): 1. Telling someone else that you think their ideas are stupid or foolish, will not be allowed, and any comments like that will be marked for moderation. This is a thread for free opinion - and comments like those are discouraging to the flow of free. 2. You are allowed to question as to why other people believe in one theory, or another, but in a way that is constructive, not deconstructive. Deconstructive: "You said that A=B. Well, you're completely wrong because C=B, and therefore A can't equal B!" Constructive: "You said that A=B. When you say that, have you take into account that the more recent release of C shows that C=B, and that that might contradict A equaling B?" Let's get started, and have some fun reading what kind of worlds other people have their figs existing in, canon-based, original, etc.!

Lego Ultra Agents 2015
Lind Whisperer replied to TPLSTER21's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Someone was speculating on whether or not something, "in-universe," might have "inspired" SPIII, "in-universe".In response, I provided a rejoinder based on the canon of crossover's I have created through many hours of linking themes. My suggestion of themes together creating a greater canon over time may be hypothesed, but that does not necessarily discount it. It's a hypothesis - a theory, one that is neither true nor untrue. Also, with the rise of references, nods, and shoutouts in themes such as SPIII, (and let us not discount the hundreds in the CMF series!) the possibility of all the themes existing in a shared universe or more likely, universes, has actually been severely indicated, to the extent that it's pretty much been everything but stated. The real question, is how many universes exist, and which themes exist in which. And then, with themes like UFO which involve other universes by nature...Let's just say, the number of potential universes is fairly large. I am not at all arguing for a universe that contains all themes. Themes like Bionicle, by their own canon, exist in their own universe. See my thoughts above on universes. The question was whether or not, in a universe that contains SPIII and UA, would UA have inspired SPIII or not. If Ninjago, and Clutch Powers are considered to not exist in that universe, I would not have a response to the question. But, because they have both crossed over directly enough to exist together in at least one possible universe, I responded based on that universe, and that universe only I took the question, and drawing out what I considered to be reasonable threads of speculation, gave my own opinion as to the answer. You are free to draw a different answer. That's actually not strong evidence. Now, I'll be the first to admit we're getting into dangerous terrain here, but Ninjago could very well have extremely different views on death.Even here on Earth, there are many different ideas as to what "death is". Some people think it means that your consciousness will be extinguished. Some believe we are re-incarnated. Some believe we have souls, and that we will go to either a heaven or a hell. Etc., etc. The point is, different cultures have different concepts of death, and what it means. Now, you will notice that Clutch, an Earthling, has the same views on "death" as an Ashlarite, a person from a different planet. But look at their cultures. They are both highly similar to Western culture, and share many of the same themes. Ninjago, however, is highly Eastern in culture, a radically different place to the west. It would make sense for Ninjagoans to have different ideas, or at least words, for death. Do not read me wrong, I am not saying that they are identical to real-world Eastern/Western culture - I am merely saying that it makes sense for a Western-like world and an Eastern-like world to have different words of expression for one thing. You're going way out into, at best, fanon-field here - I never suggested anything as radical as that. I merely commented on shared cameos. See above. This is a good point - but in a proper application of Occam's razor, we have at no point seen any suggestion of the Clutch Powers time-line being changed or influenced by time travel, and until we do seen an indication of this, it is simpler to assume that there hasn't been any. -
The thread is titled Purist Superhero Figures - meaning Superheroes built solely out of official, unmodified LEGO product, whatever that product is, or whatever shape the figure takes, be it brick-built or minifigure(If it was titled minifigure, it would be restricted to minifigures, but it isn't, and it isn't.). In this case, semantics do matter. Perhaps a second thread called "Near-Purist Superhero Figures" should be created, where people can post figures built using knock-offs or copies?

Lego Ultra Agents 2015
Lind Whisperer replied to TPLSTER21's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Those were the instructions they received from LEGO - an "Agents" styled theme, set about that long after Galaxy Squad. They are separate themes - the Space Police(III) are more of an inter-galactic organization, whereas Ultra Agents are very much a one-world organization. Also, using the canon timeline, SPIII clearly exists prior to Ultra Agents, or at the very least, concurrently.Clutch Powers interacts with SPIII at their X4 prison facility. Clutch Powers retrieves a Ninjago Fangblade. Whether this happened before or after the movie is undetermined. However, it is clear that it happened long prior to the TV season. Certain Ultra Agents villains cameo on the Ninjago TV show. Although some of them are given back-stories that slightly differ from their Ultra Agents stories, there is nothing that significantly prevents them from being the same villains. This also suggests that Astor City may in fact be located on Ninjago. If Clutch Powers retrieved the Fladeblade "a long time" prior to the Ultra Agents cameo, and assigning minifigs at least some sort of aging factor, he must likely have interacted with SPIII in his movie before the season with the cameos takes place - which means that SPIII already existed in a galactic manner prior to Ultra Agents. -
What if the effectiveness of an effects bomb was determined by level? Low leveled enemies would always be effected, middle leveled enemies would likely be effected, and high leveled enemies would possibly be effected.

You got it! Your turn.
-
Looks great! You clearly have some good plans for this, and you have some excellent models both built and designed. Any chance you might share the .ldr for that Monastery? I seriously like the way you designed it.
-
Yes to all of those.
-
Direct To Consumer - e.g., only sold by Shop At Home and LEGO Stores.
-
Nope. When you think "French," think people, not stories. *Cyrano de Bergac - it's also a favorite of mine, but not the one in the picture.
-
From the rumors we've been getting, I believe Castle will be the big new theme for 2016. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a single large D2C set though, like we got with the last wave.
-
Nope, the film I posted was released exactly half a century after that one(at least in years, I don't know about days).
-
Complete agreement - a definite classic. This one is a little obscure, but by no means as much so as the other B&W I posted. From my favorite scene:
-
Twelve Angry Men.

If your ship is airtight so that it can survive without an atmosphere, and it has rockets* to navigate in an airless environment, I think a steam-punk ship would be fine. *Or you could have the ship propelled by steam.
-
Another beautiful ship that's your usual top-of-the-line quality. Are you absolutely sure you're giving up pre-fab hulls forever? I understand if you want to build some bigger ships than they can serve as base for, but you build so well with them, and they always look so good.

Which LEGO Pirate captain is your favorite?
Lind Whisperer replied to Captain Roger's topic in LEGO Pirates
Good idea. -
Is it cheating to Google the title of the movie, if we know the historical story it's telling, but we don't know the movie?
-
Do we get bonus points for integrating obscure official LEGO Sci-Fi canon? I have the idea of including a Zarconian* in my fig-bash... *Not to be confused with the similarly named Zonian Federation.
-
to all of those. Also, you might look up any Clone Wars episodes featuring Hondo Ohnaka, the couple of Futurama episodes that had Space Robot Pirates, and anyone from the LEGO Universe Venture League Faction(Also the Paradox Space Marauders, but they're more marauders than they are Space Pirates). If you need inspiration for how to meld two different styles of building, take a look at David Pagano's Space Police Logs for SPIII, and see how he integrated Town and Space(you'll need to scroll down the page a bit.).

Heroica RPG- Quest #122: Invasion of the Sheep Snatchers
Lind Whisperer replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
"None at all. When we do hand it out, though, looking at the potential value of all of it, and how it doesn't divide perfectly, I'd be fine taking the small share if I could have first pick on any shields or swords I'm capable of carrying that future rounds might drop." "Very much so. Or for them to come down so we can destroy them. Either way works." Lind retrieves his Ethereal Deck, and while he's waiting, looks through the wreckage of the turret for the crystal in its neck. -
But don't you know? .Sage in the back to keep those paladins hale and hearty The minstrel in the middle, where she can sing some light And you never let that darn kobold out of sight...

Well, to recap, Flipz, Althior, and Alexis are cleaning house in a dollhouse, and Eric, Heckz, and Throlar just dropped off their bag of cursed items in Eubric after somehow having managed to not kill each other several times over. Meanwhile, Nerwen, Pretzel, Grimwald, and Kiray are infiltrating the Order Imperial, and Asphalt, Warlen, Annienal, Actaeon, and Midrun have just finished killing a lobster and retrieving the Golden Fleece Lotus. And, up on Mount Olympus, Sericon, Purpearl, Matthias, and Lind are fighting Hypaxxi aliens, while Lind tries to cover up the existence of said aliens. Which is going just about as well as it sounds like it would...

Heroica RPG- Quest #122: Invasion of the Sheep Snatchers
Lind Whisperer replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
The Black Knight thumped her on the back. "That's the spirit!" He then lashed out towards Other Grunt B with the Chaotic Whip. OoC: I motion to auto-roll until the battle's over. If a character rolls enough Damages to be in imminent danger of KOing, they stay where they are in the order and take a potion.
