  1. Must...resist...urge...to start another Fields team...
  2. I'm signing up - and I'm jumping through two hoops!
  3. Rats. I was hoping that they'd at least be unlockables. I honestly think, that if a group of dedicated enough fans would band together - and said fans knew enough about technology - that readily available freeware has arrived at the point where they could plausibly remake LU - or even make a better LU.I mean, look at this for an example. And this only took me a couple of hours. Sure, the figure was posed, but put an armature inside it, lower the polygon count, and...Well, you can see it for yourself. And yes, that is an actual 3d environment, imported to Blender from LDraw. Not a fancily edited LDD screenshot. If I, or someone else knew how Unity or its equivalent worked, and I could figure out how to cut down the polygon count...Let's just say, that there are a lot more possibilities for fans then there were four years ago. Venture League FTW!
  4. QM Note: For real. Sorry - it was good looting initiative. But those that have served the Dodekube far longer than I, have murmured about the Great Forum of Gen Dis that I'm perhaps tending towards being a bit too liberal with loot. And, having been shown the ancient name of he that is known as Monty Haul, I have to agree with them. On the good side of things, though, I'm pretty sure that you'll find the actual battle loot to be quite a bit more preferable than anything you'd find around here.
  5. To his amazement, Warlen discovers that he has found two genuine Seat Cushions! 2x Seat Cushions: Cushions, WP:0, Provides a slightly more comfortable ride in a stagecoach. QM Note: Apparently, I'm subconsciously psychic. Warlen actually is sitting by a left window in the image I finished a few hours ago. As he fiddled with the horses, the heroes could hear the driver talking to himself, apparently quoting scripture. "And then said he who sits beside the Dodekube, Now shalt I put an end to the freebies, for the people are grown slower in their speech, and inclined to exploit. And now, they shalt have to labor with their tools of war for that which they desire, and no longer find their heart's love on trees or on bushes or up chimneys..."
  6. Do the pirates appear at any point, or are their characters unlockable?
  7. I would like to remind everyone that, canonically, we do have bottomless bags of holding - we even had an entire quest centered around that. Of course, canon is a bit* flexible... *
  8. "I'll go and get it fer ye, then." "That's just a bit of an expression we use around here," the man called back as he headed towards the coach. "Just means you'll be sitting t' m' left. Attacked? Don't hardly know. Bandits around here used to not be a problem - but they keep a-popping up, more an' more. Might be attacked today, might be attacked tomorrow - you just never know, no more." The driver stuck his head into the coach. "Well, it could use some more grass - and people - and pretty much everything - but it's not the worst place t' be livin' an' workin'." He leaned back out. "Who're y'all going to be killing? Well, that's hardly in my job description, but that one bit of bandit scum, Sean Cole, I believe he's been a-making threats about t' settlement. Of course, t' mine foreman could likely fill you in on all the details far better than ever I could." He ducked back inside. "Now, where is that thing..." "Howdy to you t'-Ah! Here it is!" The man emerged from the coach, triumphantly holding a rather pink umbrella up high. "Here y'all are." He offered the umbrella to Vindsval. 1xVery Pink Parasol: Broomstick, WP:1, Male enemies are Enamored with the hero.
  9. The man looked at Vindsval, and then at the carriage, as if comparing the two in his mind. He nodded his head in agreement. "Yep, you're right. It looks like y'all'l have to ride hand-cannon with me, up top like." He cocked his head. "But you don't have a hat - and this sun could sure give you a bad sun-burn..." He snapped his fingers. "I got just the thing. Some lady left a parasol in the coach last trip or two. It should be big enough to give y'all some shade. Want I should fetch it?"
  10. On the one hand, as an RPer, I agree with you fully, on the other hand, as a player, I want it to stay the same. Maybe change the rolls so that they make bombs more often? I've thought once or twice about making my second character a Cannoneer, but the rolls, at least to me, don't seem to compare very favorably to the other available classes.
  11. The man turns, and ambles cheerfully towards the heroes. "Howdy, y'all. And yes, yes I am. T' name's Hill, Steve Hill. I was told there'd be a bunch of heroes a-coming through here sometime right about now. Y'all ready to have me take you to t' settlement?"
  12. As they are many miles away from Heroica, all he sees is a generic panorama of the Low Kingdoms - although not an unattractive one, by any measure. Unfortunately, lonely sand-covered climes are not known for growing such things as gold coins or silver ore, but his efforts do turn up three bones. 3x Bone - Can be thrown at monsters to distract them for a turn, worth 5 gold in magic shops. QM Note: Noted, and fixed. His magnifying glass reveals that it's a extremely rare Rockapple Fruit. The half-giant cleric examines the vines on the trellis awning, which from a distance look to be bright and green, but up close prove to be rather shriveled up by the constant action of the sun. On the opposite side of the building, he can see a large water tank, apparently fed by some sort of pump system. He also notices a man working on the coach.
  13. Examining the sole pieces of local fauna, Annienal makes a lucky find! 2x Rare Rockapple Fruit (Raises health permanently by +1. Its shell is hard enough that it can also be used as a SP:4 Throwing Weapon - but not after it's been eaten, of course!) 1x Naturally Dehydrated Level-Up Shroom (Although this normally delicious Mushroom has been dried up by the constant dry weather, it will still raise the hero's level by 1/2 of a full level!) The Dehydrated Shroom would be easy to pick by hand, but the Rockapples were a bit too high up for her to reach. Perhaps one of the other heroes could help her out? Glad to have you!
  14. After having spent quite some time first traveling in one direction, then retracing their steps when they realized they were going exactly the wrong way, then re-retracing their steps when they realized that the problem was only that someone had gotten the longitude and the latitude confused, then expending some small energies on a minor disagreement of whose fault it was, then some large energies, then several hours of arguing over who forgot to bring the rez scrolls, then several more hours figuring out how exactly it was that they'd accidentally rezed a half-fly, half-human creature, and then even more hours un-rezing and re-rezing, and finally some significant actual travel time later, the party finally arrived at Lone Bamba Station, located somewhere or other - probably other - in the Low Kingdoms. What would the party do? General QM Note: Hi everyone! And welcome to Quest #131: The Kind of Law They'd Understood! Glad to have everyone! As most of you know, this is my first time as a QM, so if I make any mistakes or errors - or even if you think I've made an error, but you're not sure - please, speak up, and I'll see to it right away! Feel free to interact with scenery and any NPCs - especially the scenery. I'm on the side of the loot fence that considers leaving anything nailed down to be a waste of good lootable nails. Let's go questing! :) Exposition QM Note: No need to consider the majority of the incidents in opening paragraph as having actually happened*. It's just meant to be a funny bit of opening narration. Moderator QM Note: I will get the opening picture shrunk down soon - my bad! *Other than the arrival at Lone Bamba Station, of course!
  15. A dwarf with a large red sombrero enters the hall, removes the Quest 131# sign-up sheet, and puts another piece of paper in its place. Having done this, the dwarf exited the Hall in the general direction of the Merry Mermaid.
  16. *Sign-ups closing within the next few hours.*
  17. "Uh...Oi vey..." "Uh, Master Battle Mage, much as I know you want to hang on to it, and much as I want my fullest possible claim to my share of all that loot, it might be a really good time to use that Cataclysm Bomb of yours." The Black Knight nervously flails at Tactician Kaz with the Chaotic Whip.
  18. Did I accidentally make a innuendo?
  19. What happens if you equip the armor, then you try to train a class that doesn't equip shields?
  20. As in, several months, or bordering on a year?
  21. ^It looks like we're nearly out of unique wizard hat colors... On a completely different note, here's Olegia from space*: *Why are the oceans so surrounded by white squarish blotches? Well...The planet's made of LEGO, so that's why they're square, and the white is foam, bouncing off the land. Or something. Or the maker of the render didn't have the time to trace around the continents. But I like the first explanation better.
  22. "Oh, I'm being rude too - no argument there. Logically, there are only two ways this plays out - either we kill you, or, you kill us, and then later on, some other heroes come and kill you. Properly, I should be supporting the first option - and I do. I just thought, when there's a lack of options, what's really preventing us from making a new one? Sure, it's heavily slanted in our favor - but that's how bargaining works. And when the other party's either going to kill you, or have someone else kill you later - well, you don't really have too much room to argue with them over the deal. On a side note, I'd also like to make a complaint: I feel rather offended as being referred to as the "metal man." - That's a blatant case of elemental profiling." "You're bad at counting. Anyone can see that it'll take at least two blasts to kill me." The Black Knight's face didn't quite turn as dark as it had earlier, but although the mead was still flowing through his veins, his face still lost its frivolity. "You're near the threshold of doors you can't see, and you're walkin' blind. And I can't be held responsible for what happens if you don't turn around." The seriousness faded away as soon as it came. "That being said, I am offended at such a low offer for me."
  23. They just happen. Like Hechz and the perfume in #118.
  24. Looking interesting there... Future Shaman?
