I can see how it'd sound like something the Doctor'd say, but that wasn't supposed to be a reference. If I was channeling anyone, I was channeling Phil Coulson...

Pelly's Paradise Day One: Huh?

My staff wasn't on the list either - I'm guessing that we'll possibly be seeing all of those in a later costume allotment. Here's a short draft of all of the accessories I can see in the pile that weren't on this list(feel free to point out anything I've missed): Storm's Hair Storm's Lighting War Machine Helmet Iron Patriot Helmet War Machine Shoulder Mount Iron Patriot Shoulder Mount Shovel Egon Spangler Hair Egon Spangler Proton Pack Blackbeard's Cutlass 80's Magneto Helmet Joker Hair And it wasn't until after I'd hit "Post" that I realized I'd forgotten my own staff. "Well, I suppose-Listen!" Unfortunately for Miderun's ambitions towards the idea of an ambush, suddenly hoofbeats could be heard from the trail- "I think that's-!" -And just as suddenly, two figures on horseback galloped into sight! "Yah! Yah!" "Vell, ve zoney zeemed vike vit vould ze - vait - vare vose zoof-zeats Zi vear?" What would the heroes do? QM Note: "Well, the money seemed like it would be - wait - are those hoof-beats I hear?"

Heroica RPG- Quest #122: Invasion of the Sheep Snatchers
Lind Whisperer replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
The Black Knight finished dodging the general's blasts, and repeated his attack. "It doesn't matter whether your race holds the crown of one star, or a thousand. Or a galaxy - or even a thousand galaxies. Because this is our world. And you'll never hold the crown to it. You'll try - oh, someday, you will try - but throughout the sky, there are still secrets that not even your greatest minds will ever know. There are still places where there are hidden powers beyond even the highest of your technological achievements, still doorways that are barred against your kind. Your kind will try someday, to seize the crown of this world - or some kind like yours - but you will fail. The world may burn in fire a hundred times, the very soil turned to desert by the blackest of dark spells - but it will never belong to you." -
Pelly's Paradise Day One: Huh?

"I believe I'll choose the Falcon's Wings, since every time I've had a problem, it's been fixed by eagles. Which are radically different animals. But it's the same principle." -
"Na, lad - my father was a smith back in Titaan. I moved out here when the settlement was first made."

I'm just a first-time QM, but I was thinking it would be an interesting thing if QMs worked together to host quest sagas that directly interlocked and crossed over with each other - like how each entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a unique, individual stand-alone story, but yet is simultaneously a distinct part of a bigger Universe.

The aged wizard lifted his trembling hand. "Surely you wouldn't deprive an old man of his walking stick?" -

QM Note: My bad, I was having too much fun with the accent. "True, true, but I think it's almost cute." In future, I could post a translation of what she's saying, if that would be helpful to everyone. Warlen: I'll have those for you in a minute.

"Well, I'm not exactly sure how much it's worth, and it looks perishable, but it also does look exotic... Hmm, I believe I could give you 25 gold for it." QM Note: No idea how much it's supposed to be worth - but if it restores full health, and Grand Potions give 25 health each, 25 gold is two Grand Potions(for 50 health, which is about as high as most heroes might get at the moment), plus an extra five for the exotic-ness.

Warlen finds 2x Shiny Gold Rocks - worth 1 each gold at normal shops, or worth 5 at magic stores for the mica. QM Note: Well, I figured that different locations would have different prices on goods, so it didn't make sense to just cut and paste from the Marketplace - and why shouldn't a Western-themed quest have cheaper picks and shovels? I'm glad people are liking the Ten-Gallon hat. The roof of the Spider Arm's Saloon hangs down low, the oddly placed lanterns burning even in the middle of the day. Inside he finds himself pleasantly enveloped by cold air, the cool grey walls arching high above him. From somewhere deep inside the crevice going back into the mountain, the proprietress emerges, and scurries back across her webs up to front. She smiles at the cleric. "Vand how vay I velp you?"

"It's a growing mine. For a while there, it was barely worth working - and then we suddenly were pulling it out by the coach-load. We'll get it better guarded soon, but we're still adjusting to the change." The storekeeper shrugged. "Can't say much - I'm new here. I just know what I've heard - that he's a mean son of a gun, with a nice hat and he rides a white horse."

The blacksmith squinted at it. "Hmm - good metal. I'll give you 30 gold for it."

"Good day to you, sir - what can I get you?" General Store: Milk - Restores 15 health and ether when consumed. Costs 8 gold. Potion (Restores 10 health to the target.) Costs 5 gold. Tonic (Restores 5 ether to the target.) Costs 10 gold. Grand Potion (Restores 25 health to the target.) Costs 10 gold. Grand Tonic (Restores 15 ether to the target.) Costs 25 gold. Elixir (Restores 50 health and 10 ether to the target and removes all negative effects from the target.) Costs 35 gold. Remedy (Removes all negative effects from the target.) Costs 10 gold. Ten-Gallon Hat: Gives the wearer the "Tourist" effect, causing no one to take them seriously. Costs 1g each. Ten-Galleon Hat: Grants the wearer the immunity to water effect. Costs 50g. Black Hat: SP: 3, grants the wearer immunity to electricity. Usable by rogues, rangers, black knights, and raiders. Costs 100g. "We're not really a town, here - the settlement's really just a glorified bunk-house for off-duty miners. And a half-way point for gold shipments, of course. The mine itself is much better guarded." QM Note: I would like to point out that although it might seem like a useless item at the moment*, if you ever need someone to disbelieve your character, the Ten-Gallon hat might not be the worst thing to have in your inventory. Just a thought. ~Heroica's Resident Munchkin *This should not be taken as a hint about this quest.

"No, it's just a regular canyon. But we're on a shelf here, so there are only two ways up and out - and one of those is from the mines, so he won't be taking that one. He'll be coming the way you came - but the walls are steep enough that I doubt you'll be able to set up much of an ambush." QM Note: If I try to describe the geography...it's just going to be hard. This was originally planned to be a much more visual quest than it's ended up being. Then Blender stopped importing correctly... Suffice it to say, there's effectively only one road in, and the walls of said road are steep enough that there isn't room for an ambush. "Right over there." The dwarf motions to the building next to the party. "'Allo, and what can I interest y'all in?" Blacksmith: Shovel (Allows the user to dig the ground in search of a treasure.) Costs 5 gold. Pickaxe (Allows the user to dig through a breakable wall or obstacle.) Costs 10 gold. Well-Balanced Scythe (Scythe, WP:5; suitable for rogues, alchemists, artisans and necromancers, turns rolls of Miss into Aim) Costs 75 gold. Plains Axe (WP:5; suitable for barbarians, alchemists, beast warriors, infiltrators, regulators and winged warriors, double damage to wood-elemental enemies) Costs 70 gold. QM Note: A friendly tip for everyone exploring the town - if you feel industrious, you might do some price comparisons.

The dwarf nodded. "Every so often, a shipment of gold comes down here from the mines for shipment. But our last two shipments have been stolen by an outlaw calling himself "Sean Cole," who's dared to ride straight into the settlement after them. We've just got the latest shipment in, and I expect that he'll be coming in after it shortly. I need y'all to be ready to teach him a lesson when he comes in, and inform him that he isn't stealing any more of our gold! Up till he arrives, y'all are welcome to browse around the settlement. If you're interested, we've got the Spider's Arms Saloon, the General Store, and the Blacksmith's."

The dwarf examined the bodies. "Looks to be just another bunch of bandits. As our gold mines have picked up, we've kept seeing more of them roving about. Sorry to disappoint, but no, I don't believe there are any bounties on their heads." QM Note: Got it.

The party loads into the coach, the driver snaps the reins, and they drive on for about another hour until they top a small ridge, overlooking a small canyon. Built on top of a shelf jutting out of the canyon wall, the few buildings of the settlement sit peacefully, with a few people walking about. They continue on down the road, and pull to a halt at the end of the single main street, where the party disembarks from the coach. Two dwarves step forward to meet them, one wearing a broad-brimmed helmet, and the other wearing a bright red sombrero. The one with the helmet spoke up. "Howdy, y'all! My name's Veín Gravelslayer, and I'm the foreman for the mines in this area. Are y'all the heroes we sent for?" QM Note: The building behind the dwarves that looks like a mine opening is actually the local saloon. Building time restraints prevented me from making that more obvious in this final shot. Also, my apologies for the "mysterious" purple lines around Gravelslayer. They're, uh, magic line-thingies. That prevent him from getting crushed by rocks. Totally not a mistake by a busy QM.

"I'm still a-sitting up here - figured it would be better to stay out of y'alls way, while you were thrashing them bandits. If y'all are ready to get rollin' again, could y'all load up, then, please?"

Heroica RPG- Quest #122: Invasion of the Sheep Snatchers

"It's been fun." Lind attempts to finish off Kaz with the Chaotic Whip, repeating his attack. OoC: If I can have the Plasma Shield as half of my total share of loot(along with the Invader's Armor), Lind'll add the Xeno Whip and the Doomsday Bomb to the group loot pile.
