  1. Although I wasn’t a player in #124, I just want to say that I really enjoyed reading the NPC interactions that went on. NPCs can sometimes feel a bit flat, since they’re mostly there to either advance the plot, or a pre-written story. I didn’t get that feeling from anyone in #124. They all really blended well into the story, and felt like actual people the heroes were talking to. I especially enjoyed the Laureline/Darksten interaction - that was probably my favorite part, as both the QM and the PC clearly had different ways they wanted the interaction to end, and both of you were writing some brilliant dialogue as the characters verbally dueled it out. Pacing wise, I also thought it was very well-paced overall, especially the dwarves re-appearing at the end - I know that wasn’t planned, but it gave them a bit more meaning than if they were just another random encounter. The ending with the Count felt a bit short, since it was written, but had it been a television episode it would have worked just fine. Loot-wise, it did seem a little light, but it was a story quest, and if I had been on it, I would have felt the high-quality of the NPC interactions definitely made up for anything light in the drops All in all? Excellent reading, and I really need to sign up for one of your quests someday.
  2. Instead of a artifact, a consumable to apply to gear...I like it.
  3. What does everyone think about an artifact that takes potential ether power from the rest of your equipped gear, and converts it to your health stats, etc., for cases where the player's class doesn't use ether?
  4. At this remark, the Black Knight's eyes sharply swept around and focused on the Battle Mage. "You must elaborate upon that, sometime..." the Black Knight murmered.
  5. Oh... Yeah... I missed that part...
  6. Building upon LotN's idea... In one of my planned quests(not my trilogy, anther one), I actually have a great place for something like this. (There are some merchants who are offering the Guild of Invasion access to some of their new products, and the heroes would get a chance to buy some of them.)
  7. I don't quite see Lind becoming one, but how well would an Anniversary Medal work for a Chi Monk build?
  8. EDITed. I apologize if/that I stepped out of bounds. Mencot specifically said that the question he was asking was for RP purposes, and I unthinkingly made the assumption that I could simultaneously save Sandy some work* and fill in some free time. My apologies. *I would only have quoted information posts that had already been made - had it gone anywhere beyond that, I'd have stepped back instantly.
  9. "And it that, we see the value in the wisdom of a party, versus a single person." The Black Knight bowed towards the Mystic Knight, then turned toward the box. "A galactic voyage, you say? Sounds extremely fascinating. I would be most interested in signing onto such a trip - and for such a reasonable price, too." The Black Knight stepped into the light beam. "Ray-pull, magic-lift, beam me up, Scotty - or whatever it is your proper name happens to be - bit of Munchkin slang for your average Joeseph, you see..." OoC: Read the EDIT in my previous post.
  10. Probably not. But then again, who knows what will happen in a generation or two? At one point, no one expected we'd have LEGO Star Wars, and at another, no one expected we'd have LEGO LotR - both things that fans had wanted, that seemed highly unlikely. Maybe in a few years, there'll be enough AFOLs working at LEGO to convince the people in suits that parts like that are worth the production cost. Heck - maybe even the suits themselves will be AFOLs, and won't need convincing. It never hurts to hope.
  11. "THAT WAS RELATIVELY EASY.""Suspiciously so, yes..." The Black Knight removed his helmet, and turned to the party with a reassuring smile on his face, laughing as he spoke. "No need to worry, these are just your standard evil magic beings, trying to make us believe a bunch of lies. It's actually quite cliched, really, the old "magic beings living up with the stars" story - rather silly of them to think that a group as traveled as ours would believe them." EDIT: OoC: I'm retconning the bit of speech Lind originally made here. He will make it - but later on. I did specifically say that no one in the party could hear him, so it's effectively the same as if he hadn't said it. EDIT II: And just to make sure everything is clear, when I say "retcon," I mean that Lind never made that bit of speech to anyone, alien or hero.
  12. Good job! Your turn, Master_Data!
  13. One of my favorite* still shots: *I originally wanted to post a shot from the extremely well-done opening sequence, but it would be too hard to tell what it is.
  14. Debating the pros and cons of this idea: Assault Shield: SP:2, unlocks the additional Job Trait Assault, suitable for all shield-carrying classes. Assault: After naming their primary target, the Hero can specify a secondary target to bash with their shield, with a 1/2 chance of doing their Power level x their shield's defense power in damage against that target EDIT: Changed down to SP:2, after I realized how much 4 times the typical Power level would be.
  15. Somewhat disgruntled at the situation, and the contrary information the villagers had provided, the Black Knight walked over to Caarrie, and held onto her. "If I might propose our new order, I believe if the Druid and the Battle Mage hang onto that one(Gaarry)," he indicated with his hand, "The Mystic Knight hangs onto that one(Laarry), and the Beserker and I hang onto this one(Caarrie), we should more than equal the upward force." Ooc: Gaary: 12 + 4 + 5 = 21 Laarry: 8 + 13 = 21 Caarie: 6 + 11 + 6 = 23
  16. Like the lyrics say, . As in, the (then-current, now replaced by Max) Lego Maniac, Zack. Not the Blacktron II(Or Blacktron: Future Generation, if you want to be fancy) faction. This is one one of those commercials that doesn't really count as canon, since it doesn't feature any specific events or time periods. But, if you really want to read something into it, in these commercials Zack would typically "save" whoever it was by using ships/sets of the themes involved. So, he may have saved the human race using Blacktron II vehicles - but, that's still him doing it, not Blacktron II. They were almost definitely custom made for the commercial. If you try, you might be able to kit-bash their outfits, but you'd need to talk to a professional cos-player for advice on that.
  17. Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but most canons are made up.
  18. That's kind of a tough question. Here's one of the designer's words on the subject: On the one hand, their brief would seem to suggest that it's a Space theme. But if we agree that it's a "reboot" of Agents, then it's actually under the City themes. Granted, there is the fact that it happens in (presumably) space...except that so does Ninjago. Ninjago exists on its own planet, a fact that is confirmed as since Project: Arcticus. (The shown constellations bear no resemblance to those around Earth, nor the land masses.) Thus, I don't think it's too big of a stretch to keep Ultra Agents under "City themes," or continue to leave it under "Action and Adventure," where it currently is located.
  19. Are you sure Darksten's a Ranger, not a Rogue?
  20. "Well, that was not expected, that they'd be so weak..." The Black Knight gently held onto the sheep(Maud) by the wool around her neck, stroking her so she would stay calm. (He was still standing more or less next to her, after the mask incident earlier). He called to the others. "I wonder if this is a new group of enemy we're dealing with? Because they were clearly mentioned as lifting roofs off of houses. Now, granted, it has been a long time since I saw a pair of scales, but I'm fairly certain that I don't weigh as much as a roof - and our svelte Battle Mystic clearly doesn't..."
  21. Thanks! To do it, you'll need a basic knowledge of Blender and LDraw, but here's how I did it: First, you build everything individually in LDraw. In my case, I was fortunately able to pull most of the models out of the Eurobricks LDraw Models forum. (Thanks again, Pathaldric! ) Then, I use le17's LDraw to Blender converter to append the models into Blender. I then arrange everything in the way I want the scene to look, add lights, and swap over to "Render." I could try to go into a list of all the little details you can do, but it honestly boils down to just spending a lot of time trying different things. I got the effect of the uneven cobblestones by simply shifting the 1x1 tiles along different axes. When you're lighting it, feel free to try different light combinations, and different colors. (In this scene, I ended up with two different light sources, one blue, one red, and the cards are set to Emit). The most important thing of all, though(and I speak from far too much personal experience) is to make sure to SAVE FREQUENTLY. I don't even want to think about how many times I've wished I've taken my own advice on that. :serious face emoticon we really need:
  22. My bad. After thinking about it, I'm going to wait on that quest till some other time. My proposition will just be a simple "go and fight bad guys," and I can re-use some of the sets for the more complicated one some other time. Just one question - it is permissible to use Blender renders for set MOCs, right? Like the one I used for my Training Room post? I'm asking because the rules list only list LDD as an alternate option. The sets would have brighter lighting than in this one - it's only this dark because it fit the mood better.
  23. I think I might have what you're looking for - and I think I have the time for it, too. I just need to finish the plot... Are there any QMs who could read through a brief overview plot when I'm done, and make sure it makes sense? I have a bad tendency to make things over-complicated...
