  1. Great vignette! I love the fireplace and the dinner table. And such clever use of those specialty head pieces! Well done!
  2. A great build, very appropriate for the subject! I love the roof, and the tiles for texture on the walls. The entrance stairs are also very nice. My only critique would be that for double doors, I would have made the door arch a couple of studs wider. But a beautiful build none the less. And then we go to the interior, and it takes the build to the next level! (Which reminds me that I have to get back to including interiors for my builds of late.) It's well detailed, and the tiled floors really make it look sharp. I especially like the attic and the stairs that led to it. Excellent job all around!
  3. Thanks. Doing the round base was a lot of fun. It's the second time I've used that technique. Thanks. I knew I had to post a picture of both windmills together. I had this one 75% finished when I posted the first one last month. And if they hadn't originally been intended to be part of the same build, I would have certainly changed it up considerably. But part of what I wanted to show originally was essentially the same mill with and without the roundhouse. Thanks, although I had trouble with the track around the mill on this one; I didn't quite get the radius right. Thanks for the comments! I think I'm done with windmills for a bit, or at least post mills. But I got some good experience with that siding technique, and I got to use that technique for round walls again, so it was a good building experience.

  6. One of the signature sights of the Weelond coast are the windmills taking full advantage of the stiff breeze blowing in from the Sea of Storms. Last month I presented "Grist Mill #1"; this month I present the mill cleverly designated in the city ledgers as "Grist Mill #2". It is a post mill like the other one, but instead of the trestle supports being open to view, a roundhouse is built around the supports to serve as a storage area for grain to be milled or flour ready to be delivered. I originally planned on presenting the two windmills as part of one large scene, but I didn't have enough green plates to handle the terrain. But to show that I didn't reuse any of the first windmill, here they are together. As usual, all C&C welcome.
  7. Thanks to both of you! The build started as a way to use that arch in some manner! Thanks! I liked how that picture came out, too. I wanted to get an angle on the building, and get a good looking-through-the-crowd shot. Thanks. The Pirates of the Caribbean, Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, and Fantasy Era Castle themes, and the collectible minifigs have really added to the era-appropriate torsos available. Thanks. I enjoy using that style roof. I was glad it worked here. As for elections, any seats with multiple candidates will have voting in early January.
  8. @Phred, the small forts listed above for Umbra-Manis and TitusV should be maintained by the Eslandola faction account. I believe the same is true for the medium fort listed above for @Maxim I, unless he says otherwise.
  9. What can I add that hasn't already been said? The lavender and sand green work well together. I like the general size of the build, appropriate for an inn or boarding house. The foliage canopy is excellent, and the minifig choices/posing/etc really add life to the build, as usual for your MOCs. Excellent work, as always!
  10. Council campaign: Sea of Storms delegation | Capt Wolf | Eslandola
  11. A bid for new representation for the Sea of Storms in the Colonial Council.
  12. Pieter Reyngout was still mourning his uncle, Cornelius Reyngout, who was lost at sea when the Prince Fernando went down in October. With his own father also gone, Pieter was now the head of the Reyngout family in the islands. He had a successful business -- a small tavern -- and was already a member of Weelond’s town council, but now he wanted to do more. Aaron van der Meede, the head of the town council, was a common visitor to Reyngout’s Tavern, and many evenings it was an unofficial meeting location for the town council. Aaron was also a member of the Colonial Council. When van der Meede mentioned that he and Governor Guilder were looking for a local businessman to join them in running for the Sea of Storms seats in the Colonial Council for the new year, Pieter knew this was what he was looking for. Aaron made the arrangements, and before Pieter knew it, he was standing with Guilder and van der Meede in front of his own tavern, talking to a gathering crowd about serving in the Colonial Council. Well, Guilder was doing most of the talking. “Weelond and Bardo deserve strong representation in the Council,” Guilder told the gathered crowd. “With Victor Servadac away on a mission for the White Glove Order, and Marquis Alkuda moved to Puerto Desafio, a new delegation is needed for the Sea of Storms. As such, Mr. van der Meede and I will step away from the MCTC delegation to the Colonial Council so we may represent YOU, the citizens of the An Holli and An Toli. Other MCTC members will take our place in the MCTC delegation. This move will allow us to better address the issues that affect all of you, not just MCTC members.” Guilder continued to extol the virtues of having such fine members of the community represent them in the Colonial Council. Pieter found himself listening to his own thoughts, however, as he looked at the faces in the crowd. Suddenly, Pieter was aware that Guilder was motioning toward him with his walking stick and had stopped talking. After a brief silence, Pieter shook off his haze and addressed the crowd. “I know almost all of you here, and I think you know me. You are my neighbors, my tavern patrons, my friends. I already work for you in the town council, but to represent you to all of colonial Eslandola would be quite a responsibility. I know the issues that face us here in the Sea of Storms, the issues that we face running a small business or farm, raising a family, making a better life for ourselves in the islands, and I promise to keep OUR concerns at the forefront of my deliberations on any matter before the council … if you so choose to have me represent you.” Pieter exhaled. “Well said, well said!” exclaimed Guilder. The governor continued on, and Aaron was ready to speak when it was his turn. Pieter went back to his thoughts, trying to put himself into the shoes of the people gathered before him: a baker, a cordwainer, the miller’s wife, a farmhand, a sailor … a wide variety of occupations, but all making their life here in the islands. He knew he could give all of them a voice in the Colonial Council. --------- A view of the full build: Pieter Reyngout in front of his tavern: -------- This is my campaign build for the Sea of Storms seats in Eslandola's Colonial Council. I had hoped to build more of the tavern, but I didn't have the right bricks in the right colors to build it out fully as I have it planned in my head. So I just built the entrance here, and I hope to expand the exterior and detail an interior in future builds. I'll also need to replace those black double doors; they just didn't photograph well at all. As usual, all C&C welcome. Thanks for looking.
  13. Ach! A rabble-rouser in the MCTC company town of Weelond! A good campaign build, with an interesting assortment of characters, and the message is of course spot on for an independent candidate. Good luck! Of course, if no one else runs for the independent seat, you won't need any luck.
  14. I really like this ship! Quite the happy accident! Nice hull shape and sail plan. And the enigmatic stranger is shaping up to be a fun character. Looking forward to more about him!
  15. Congrats! That's a big accomplishment.
  16. Nice little scene. Great posing, and nice background. Creative way to do a build for increasing ship limits. I like it!
  17. Good interior vig! I really like the corner fireplace (and good lighting there, too!). The drapes are also very nice. Nice way to continue the ongoing WTC storyline, too. Well done!
  18. Wow. Wonderful MOC and story! You've really captured the feel of a lightly wooded area where one would find deer. Those first three pics are fantastic, the third pic in particular -- I feel like I've been there!
  19. Fun story, well written, and a great interior vignette. The cabinet is fantastic! I love the drawer handles, the use of curved slopes on the top, and the two different styles of windows used. Ingenious! If it disappears from the office, you would be right to investigate me for theft. The tall candleholders, the painting on the wall, the carpet, the tile floor, all create a great scene. Well done!
  20. Lovely MOC! There's lots to like here. Wonderful use of various earth tone colors, with good texture in the structure. I like the small fence on the left side. And the irregular base works well. I love the troops, and you've added more good detail with the chickens and cat, but I really like the men on the roof smoking the pipe. Great all around!
  21. Fun story! The telescope effect is very cool, and the microships and the sea are wonderful. I'm still marveling at the effect you got of a rolling sea so simply. Outstanding!
