[COR/OL FB] Commissioning HMS Resolute
Capt Wolf replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Wow, sorry I missed this one earlier. I love the collab and the two different builds of the office. Excellent work there. As for the ship, and excellent little brig of war. Nice job with the SNOT and tiled decks. Well done! -
I really like the small brick-built boats and brick-built sails. Good luck with those rockets!
-
Great scene! I really like the minifigs you've put together for the natives. Great foliage, as always, and putting the whole build on an angle really enhances the presentation. On top of that, you use the build to pose a simple but significant question. Well done.

[SR-FB] Becoming a Landlubber
Capt Wolf replied to Roadmonkeytj's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Nice build. I must repeat what others have already pointed out: Great roof, great job of incorporating those printed panels, good work with the vines and such, cool approach to those lower level windows, and ... clean those dusty parts. But it's still a great build, with good color and general composition. When you have time for an interior, I'd love to see you do an interior for this façade.- 10 replies

MRCA deadline Feb 25 - and new "Black Flag" rule
Capt Wolf replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Game Mastering, i.e., someone has to decide where the story goes as a result of the build, and what options the adventuring player will face next. I'm very hopeful this will add a lot of intrigue to the game. -
The sign-up deadline for the next Adventure MRCA and Trade MRCA is February 25, midnight, anywhere in the world. ---------------- Players can sign up for both the Adventure MRCA and the Trade MRCA, but individual ships can only participate in one or the other, not both simultaneously. To sign-up for the Adventure MRCA, read the rules here and then sign-up via this form. To sign-up for the Trade MRCA, read the rules here and then sign-up via this form. For a ship to take part in either MRCA, it must be licensed. You can license your ship under the new ship rules via this form. ---------------- NEW RULES: Raise the BLACK FLAG! When a player submits his/her MRCA orders and wishes to go "all pirate," but not have it reflect on the faction, he/she can choose a new "black flag" option on the ship's MRCA order. All ships listed on that order will then, rather than be considered Sea Rats (or whatever faction the player is from), be considered “black flag” pirates. Once a ship has been registered as a “black flag” pirate AND committed an act of piracy, it retains its “black flag” status until some external event (capture, trial, pardon, etc.) wipes its slate clean. A player won't be committed to being a pirate going forward, but each black flag ship will be. Note that this requires players to follow the honor system and continue to check the “black flag” option for the ship in subsequent MRCAs (until we have a way to track it automatically). The MRCA forms will also have a “black flag” targeting option for players wishing to hunt pirates. Note that black flag pirates will be distinct from independent pirates. Also note that the MRCA forms have not been updated yet, so if you plan on raising the black flag on a ship this month, wait for us to update the forms before you submit your orders use the ship license form. Repairing your ship You have probably noticed the "damaged" results in the MRCA results the last few months. To this point, it has had no effect on the game. Starting this month, damaged ships will incur higher upkeep costs the month they are damaged. There is no need for players to do anything, just know that your maintenance costs will reflect the cost of repairing the damage. FYI. ---------------- Help Wanted: Players who have some time the two weeks after the MRCA are asked to help out with the AMRCA. The Adventure MRCA requires some GMing, and the more help we have, the quicker we can turn things around and keep the MRCAs on a monthly schedule. Contact @Bregir or @Legostone if you're interested in helping out. ---------------- Consult this map for trade zone numbers before submitting any forms: And here are the trade values as of February 6, 618. When filling out your MRCA form, please make sure you spell the ports exactly as they appear below. Cool. OK, thanks for confirming that. I'll use the NPC and Old World trade values from last MRCA.
-
@Phred, it looks like the trade values for all the NPC and old world settlements have dropped by about 30-35%. What's up with that?

Guilder always marveled at Jalape's accent. He could never quite locate it, at least not to a region of Eslandola. "Thank you Chef Jalape. Does anyone else have any thoughts on a joint anti-piracy effort with Corrington or other navies of the Brick Seas?" As Guilder waited for a response, another messenger delivered a letter. Guilder read it quickly to himself, then addressed Jerome Monezterrell in the MAESTRO delegation. "It looks like we have some news from Fuerte Unido. The ships and crews are under armed guard, although it appears several Sea Rat crews have fled into the jungle. Jerome, do you have any additional news from your fair town?"

Congratulations to the winners and everyone who entered for some fun builds. And thanks to Drunknok for a great mini-challenge! -
[COR - Era II - Callenge 1 - Cat. A] The Captain's Daughter
Capt Wolf replied to Mike S's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Lovely tavern! Sorry I failed to comment on this earlier. The medium blue windows really add something to the build, and I like the vine and how it turns the corner of the building. Wonderful interior as well, and you've introduced a fun cast of characters. Well done! -
@Phred, the MRCA profits show up in the spreadsheet for the NPC factions (look specifically at Namere, Romantica, and Terraversa), but they're not getting added into their totals. I think this might have happened with the previous MRCA as well. Could you take a look at that?

[ERA II CH1A] Monkey Out... Inn
Capt Wolf replied to Legostone's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice! It could have been very "square" but you were careful to add depth to the corners, framing, and such. Very attractive structure. And the irregular base is excellent. It really enhances the overall build. And on top of that, monkeys! -
[ESL - CH1 - Cat A] MAESTRO Office Jameston
Capt Wolf replied to Maxim I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Very nice! I like how you've combined your usual Trador style with something that fits the Corrrish setting. Attractive building, with nice details. Well done! -
Impressive inn! It's also, appropriate for the location, very, er, how do I say this, ... RED! But seriously, it has a very stately feel, and I'm sure the Corrish residents of the island are happy to have it in Jameston. And the build has your usual flair for activity, with the interior, and minifig posing, and smoke from the chimney, etc.

[COR EraII ChI CatC] Temple Ruins
Capt Wolf replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent understated job on the ruins! But there's still enough there to be interesting, and it all looks very natural. I feel like I could stumble across that in a nearby field. And the tree trunk made of of pith helmets is great! -
Fantastic tree house! I like the attention to detail, such as the vertical siding at the base of the house. Wonderful foliage, rope bridge, and the waterfall is tremendous. And for some reason I always imagined that Guy's Uncle didn't have kids. A revelation! All in all, dare I say, very cool!

[ESL-ERA II-CH1-Cat A] WGO Lodge Number 9
Capt Wolf replied to Sir Stig's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I really like this house. Good texture, and your usual creativity with the windows. Great roof, and the white glove is . -
Fantastic build! I love the architectural details on the exterior (balcony, columns, arches above windows, the "bumpy" roofline of the wing ends), and the low-level photography really makes the exterior shots come alive. Then the interior is fabulous. It's all well thought out and executed. Well done, sir.

A-ha! The plot thickens! I thought Sinbad might be involved. And I'm impressed that he let the messenger live! A very clean build, and it still has some nice detail, such as the bone on the plate, and the mop in the corner. I also like the use of that arch piece in the wall supports. Nice vig, and I like that we are getting some storytelling out of the Trade MRCA.

[CH 1B - ESL] Mountain Goats and Yellow Highland Frogs
Capt Wolf replied to Elostirion's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Wonderful build! And I, too, am jealous of the goats. Two of them! <sigh> Great rockwork and vegetation, but the storytelling really makes this for me. Excellent!- 6 replies
