  1. Wonderful build for the season! I really like the fire pit, but my favorite detail are those sandwiches! Well done all around!
  2. Sorry to be late to this thread. The build is marvelous! It really looks like a great place to settle in for a drink. The color combo works wonderfully. My favorite details are the chairbacks and the staircase. And I must echo Ayrlego that the mysterious stranger is my favorite pic in the whole post; something about the tilt of the hat on the head, and the choice of head at that. Glad to see Port Wilks taking shape, and looking forward to more of the story!
  3. I totally missed this build when first posted. Great job with the log cabin, especially the interlocking SNOT walls. Good roof, and nice exterior details like the log pile and such. Good job with the minifigs, too. Well done!
  4. Nice approach to the required build for adding ship limits. Good little scene, and good job with the minifigs.
  5. Maxim, I love the map! Thanks! I'll be really curious to see this next month.
  6. Skull's Eye Schooner vs Black Seas Barracuda?! This should have been the final! Toughest choice I've had to make in any of these, but I went with the BSB. Ask me on a different day and I might choose the SES.
  7. Jerome Monezterrell, Eslandola's Secretary of the Navy, was in the office of his chief naval architect, Farrucio Paraja. The Oscuridad had sunk in a storm in October, and a sistership needed to be commissioned. But Paraja could not find the plans! Paraja was frantic as he searched for his plans of the magnificent xebec. "Calm down, Farrucio," said Monezterrell. "Calm down!? How can I calm down? One of my masterpieces has gone down, and now I can't find the plans!" cried the architect. "I'm sure they're here somewhere," offered Monezterrell. "And you have the model right here..." "Hah! That model is practically useless. The Oscuridad was a work of art!" Paraja rambled on, and Monezterrell opted to stay silent for a bit. Finally, the plans were found. "Ah, filed under M, for Masterpiece!" exclaimed the architect. Monezterrel tried not to let Paraja see him roll his eyes. It was a magnificent ship, but still... "Yes, very good Farrucio. See that the shipyard gets them right away." Paraja's spirit had brightened. "Yes, yes. The Oscuridad II will restore my art to the seas! ..." Paraja continued to talk to himself as Monezterrell left the architect's office as quickly as possible. ---------- My apologies if I have disparaged Legostone's characters in any way, but the Oscuridad was his ship, so I felt his characters should be involved in the required sistershipping build. I hope my story simply conveys that it is a gorgeous ship.
  8. WINNERS! We have WINNERS to announce! This year's Weelond Oktoberfest was a rousing success, with several excellent entries. Sorry for the delay in posting the results; I was working on the commemorative poster. Here are the winners... In the category of Best Build: 1. Ayrlego - Street celebrations 2. 9. 6-9, 10-15, and 16-25 are correct. Those numbers are straight from our discussions in the court.
  10. Great figs! I love the use of the bobby helmet with the chinstrap head and the legs with the black boots. Heck, everything. It all goes together so well! I'm glad you didn't wait to share!
  11. Superb job, E! The buildings turned out great, each with the right amount of detail and unique character. And I like the unfinished edges to the whole scene; great presentation style. All-in-all, a fantastic look at a major NPC city. Kudos!
  12. The council hall was silent, its members stunned at the sudden departure of Román Fontonajo. But Guilder had known this time was coming from his correspondence with Fontonajo in the prior months. The wanderlust had struck him, and there was no holding him back. Román had apparently just been waiting for the right time. Guilder had secretly hoped that Román would serve out the term to the end of the year, but knew that was a pipe dream. And so Guilder stood to break the silence. "While I am saddened that the esteemed Román Fontonajo is stepping down from the council, we should not stand in his way. I will accept his request to fulfill the duties of Admius Legistrad for the remainder of the year as it pertains to the smooth operation of this council, but I will not exercise the voting privileges of the position, as I have not earned that right through election. The end of the calendar year will see all our terms of service come to a conclusion, and many of us have choices to make about what positions to seek for the year 618. December should be an interesting campaign month. "Román has left us with business on the table. I have heard word from Oleon that they will suspend their port tax for RNTC shareholders, and we should return to discussion of port taxes shortly. But for now, my thoughts are to our first Admius Legistrad, Eslandola's first democratically elected leader, and to all he has contributed to founding this Colonial Council and keeping the principle of trade over war forefront in his efforts in all our diplomatic efforts. I say 'Yea!' Román Fontonajo!" and Guilder thumped his cane on the floor in acclaim, hoping the remainder of the council would rise and honor Román Fontonajo with similar applause.
  13. I tried too. Maybe I'll get a double refund.
  14. @Phred, also, I paid too quickly for an auction purchase, which I ultimately did not win. Can I get the 400 DBs I sent to Gregrory Decker back. Thanks.
  15. @Phred, I just made a series of DB transfers from Eslandola and from the MCTC to various players (monthly share dividends in joint properties), and as far as I can tell, only the first two transfers are showing up in the spreadsheet and the other ten aren't.
  16. Lots to like here, and I'm not sure how I failed to comment earlier! The brick/stone first level with the timbered, overhanging second level is nicely done. The use of those bright green bricks is a nice change of pace (do I have the color right?). I also like the torso/skirt combo on the main shop owner. Different style roof than we've seen on many builds as well. All in all another great build on your part.
  17. OK, it's in Leopoldis (zone 24) and will have to start from there in the November MRCA.
  18. Loving the street scene coming together! I like the barber pole and awning for this build; simple yet very effective. And of course good minifigs and storytelling!
  19. Thanks to everyone for the comments and feedback! Much appreciated! Thanks. The circular path was a key part of the build. Hey, if you got 'em, flaunt 'em. Thanks. Which build was it of yours that used the siding technique? I want to link to the diagram you linked to on yours. I believe they are from Brickforge, although it appears they have either been discontinued or are out of stock atm. Now I wish I got some when I had the chance....! As for the goats.... one day Lego will re-release them surely?!?!? Yes, the sheep are from Brickforge. I did not realize they have been discontinued. That's too bad. nd we all hold out hope for more goats from Lego! Thank you! Thanks. I put a lot of work into the support structure. Thanks. I'm glad the minifigs worked for the scene. Thanks. The siding was the start of this project. See above re the sheep. Thanks. Using the siding technique was the main reason I started this build, and I'm really happy with the trestle. Thanks. The worn circle really does do a lot for the build. Thanks. And I had the same concern about the door, and almost changed it out for a brown one. I'm actually working on a second mill with a roiundhouse base, and it has the brown door. The siding is tiles on overlapping plates, not cheese slopes. The only cheese slopes I used are at the base to fill the gap. Thanks! And I always make sure that my windmills can turn to face the wind.
  20. For those of you wondering where your newly purchased or re-purchased ship can begin the November MRCA, here are the November starting locations for the auctioned ships: The HRS Ardent, HRS Tonnant, Wolf II, and the Flying Colt are in Longjaw (zone 24). Edit: Leopoldis is the settlement name (Longjaw is the island name). The Aspiration and Supreme are in Westface (zone 13). Hades' Trumpet and Nerdy Mermaid are in Freeport (zone 27).
  21. OK, we've solved the problem of where they start from. @SilentWolf, I can't seem to find the data for where the Flying Colt was captured. Tell me where it was sailing and I can fix a new location for it. I will post starting locations for the next MRCA for all the ships sold at auction in the auction thread.
  22. That is still being debated in leadership. It will likely be the port from which it is being auctioned or a port in a nearby sea zone. We'll get this answered definitively in the next couple of days. Sorry for the delay on the answer.
  23. Governor Guilder has sent 400 golden doubloons to Gregory Decker. I'm not sure why I want a ship back that has never survived a mission unscathed, but maybe this time it'll all work out. Darn, I think you're right.
