Great moc, I love the architecture and all the magic effects! The presentation is also really cool! The mosaic looks great as well! I have one question: What piece is the fire that is shooting out of the staff/ spear thingy?

Wow, that Kawashita mech is amazing! Its shape and all its details look absolutely fantastic! However, I do not like the landscape at all. My first issue with it is it colors. It looks very messy and plain. I feel like having dark bley, the dark grey, light bless, black, and brown makes it look messy and not very appealing. Also the landscape looks unnatural, largely due to all the strait lines. These are especially noticeable where the color changes, with a strait line in the middle. These lines are less noticeable and don't look so unnatural when it is the same color. Also it looks unnatural when the landscape drops down by the height of a brick when around it the landscape has been dropping by the height of a plate. ( sorry if this is confusing but its hard to explain.) If lack of parts/ time is the issue, then i would recommend a smaller base with more detail. The current base is unnecessarily large and i think a smaller base would have worked better for this scene( a smaller base would also allow you to add more detail.) I'm sorry if this sounded too harsh, I just feel like the base drags down the overall quality of the build, which is a shame considering how awesome those mechs are!

Fantastic build! The whole scene is gorgeous, but I think my favorite part is the shack on the docks. GoH. LoR came after it, although it was called LCC back then.

Ha Ha this is fantastic! I love the story, it was such a great idea to tell it from the mummy's POV!

Heres my Category A build for the Desert King: A Dwarf's Life- 272 replies

The post is now updated! Thanks! These are Kaliphlin dwarves, they are a group of Southern Dwarves. Thanks! The crossbow was origionally designed for a wall in Avalonia ( which i ended up scrapping), so it actually articulates up and down and side to side. The crank on the bottom would be used for tightening both crossbows at the same time, and the bar on the back is for aiming it.( I tried to make it realistic). It even has a sight Thank you! The inventor usually only works for supporters of the Desert King, although I'm sure he would make an exception for any Avalonians ( as long as they don't use his designs against the Desert King)

The underground base of the Southern Dwarves in the Kaliphlin Rakath Mountains... This young dwarf reflects on how much his life has changed since the war started. Before the war started and the Southern Dwarves declared their support for the Desert King life was very different. Back then the dwarves focused more on the arts and craftsmanship, but these days sculpting and carving are not considered a priority and have been put aside in order to make more room for weapons and supplies for the war. Nowadays inventors only job is to create weapons of war... and the alchemists brew deadly concoctions designed corrode or explode The forges are lit day and night as dwarves workers build weapons to arm the Desert king's forces. and now the young dwarf must grow up from a kid to a man as he prepares to go to war and fight for his King... Extra pics: The desk A shelf C&C appreciated. I am still not to happy with some of the pictures, but they are all WAY better than before

Hey Bob , do you think you could change my thumbnail picture to this when you have a chance?

Ok I fixed it. I don't know how that happened, the first picture was normal sized but somehow the second one ended up way to big

Book II - Avalonia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
LordDan replied to Rogue Angel's topic in Guilds of Historica
Heres my latest free build. It feels good to finally be building in Avalonia again! -
Avalonia's vast and beautiful forests hold many secrets. Many ordinary citizens travel the well used paths through the forest on a daily basis, but few have any inkling that they are being watched over and protected. They occasionally hear rumors and catch a glimpse of the elusive rangers, but few have heard of a smaller branch of the rangers, the Woodland sentries. These mysterious fellows are few and far between, but they are experts of camouflage and are often posted nearby main roads and paths, to listen and watch for any signs of intrusion or danger, and if they spy an enemy or threat they can quickly and silently eliminate it before anyone even knew it was there... I got the idea for this build after seeing this build by Sir Gillian. The Woodland Sentry is from my CMF series C and C appreciated

Hey guys heres my build for this week. I posted it early since it was already done and I am going to be away for the rest of the week. Also here is my updated picture of Dan, in his new gear ( which he wears in combat, hostile environments, etc)
-
After he had finished setting up a communications center, Dan was ready for a little break, so he decided to go out and mess around with one of the new prototype MANTIS drones he had designed. This was originally going to be my challenge entry, but I decided I liked this better with the drone and fig so I built another challenge entry and saved this build for this week. C and C appreciated

The barren world of Guinevere is made of immense spans of desert. However, besides for the sand and dirt and occasional withered plant the desert also contains a very valuable resource...Gold! Heres my challenge 1 entry. It was built last minute, I had a different, larger one built, but that one looked too plain without figs so I built this instead and will use that one as next weeks build. C & C appreciated

Due to the strategic importance of Guinevere's vast deposits of gold and the numerous hostile Kawashita intruders on the planet Dan's superiors felt that establishing communication between all MANTIS forces on the planet was an essential step to conquering the planet. Dan was immediately sent out to construct a communication center. Unfortunately, the base took longer to construct than expected because all of the assistants sent to work under Dan turned out to be sick with some sort of stomach bug. The base is outfitted with several rooms full of holographic display screens, monitors, and many different buttons and keypads that allowed MANTIS supervisors do perform all sorts of tasks such as controlling drones, coordinating MANTIS counterstrikes against Kawashita operatives, analyze reports, access MANTIS records and operative's reports, remotely access MANTIS weapons platforms, launch missiles, and do all sort of other fun stuff. (Pictured is the main control room) ( Dan had a little fun testing out some of the systems before handing over control of the base to his superiors.) C & C appreciated

LordDan replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great diorama! The size of this is very stunning! This looks like quite a party,I love the sense of fun and excitement that all the colors and minifigures create. Also I spy Lord Dan on one of the rooftops :) somehow I never ended up commenting on this until now, which is weird because I definately looked at this 4-5 times. oh well better late than never...- 35 replies
