  1. Yeah, I bet there is a lot of stress on the gooseneck. How high (in bricks) is the floor of the lowloader in all? It looks like something between 3 or 4 bricks. Also, did you use some studless beams to reinforce the gooseneck, to hold everything together?
  2. I am pretty impressed. Not only because of the size and the detailed looks, but also because it looks like the trailer isn't bending at all, even with the big weight of the crane. I'd say, that is the most impressing part.
  3. Wow. The manual version has just been released on ReBrickable. I am now already trying to compile a parts list for ordering.
  4. That makes sense. But I have seen some renders before, which also had a twixed perspective regarding the wheels. But I am to lazy now to look for an example.
  5. I like the idea, but I guess the loading mechanism is far from optimal, because you need a lot of force on the axle to actually lift the bin. I would expect a linkage with a actuator-style mechanism to work much better. Also, this would be less stressing the parts.
  6. Is it just me or do the wheels look rather small in the renders?
  7. Middle or left. I'd decide that when it is finished.
  8. You mean like this? Indeed impossible.
  9. I am really looking forward to this. Can't wait to show of the Technic Focus next to my real Focus.
  10. It definately is huge. I am pretty sure, this will evolve to a pretty good MOC. By the way, I would be willing to offer translation services to Zwergi if he needs it. I guess that would be better than translating through Google Translate.
  11. I just went to the Play Store page for the Android App and it says my tablet device is compatible. I have a Odys Aviator (Dual-Core 1,6GHz Cortex A9, 1GB RAM), which is rather no-name. I tested the app, but it's not working well. Untextured pieces and it's very laggy.
  12. I really like it a lot. Finally your hamsters get the "tools" to take over the world! Next up: Hamster-driven and -operated Nuke launcher!
  13. Of course they have changed box dimensions over time. To decrease the amount of danish air!
  14. Regarding too much air inside the boxes, there are some problems to consider. If the made a box according to every set, they would have a lot more expenses on boxes than now. So they have various sizes of boxes and look into which a set will fit. Because sets have various sizes in terms of different piece sizes and piece counts, the bare sets are always different in regards of their whole size. So now, when they look for boxing them, they put the pieces into a box and find they bags don't go in easily, so they try the next bigger available box. Thus, there is the extra danish air in the box. Now please think about the box of 42009 for example, which was full to the rim. Not much extra air. Also, they have improved on the boxes a lot, because only a few years back, you would have approximately half the box empty.
  15. A little OT: That is not only a problem with the forum software here on EB, but likely on every forum. Google is a huuuuuuuuge company which has a lot of knowledge regarding search engines, search algorithms, they have the hardware and software architecture to support all this and so on. They are not No.1 because they provide crappy search results. And such specific knowledge is missing in companies who provide such a forum software. On the other hand, such forum software has a myriad of functions and possibilities to customize and so on. That is their main feature, which the producer of the forum software has built up a lot of knowledge and specified in. Let's call it a niche. There they placed themselves and are successful with it.
  16. That's a nice mod. Perhaps I'll steal the idea :D
  17. A4 is fine for people who print it, but I want to suggest this to be landscape format. I have seen many instructions being A4 and upright, which is kind of dumb to view on a widescreen monitor - lots of wasted space. Just my 2 cents.
  18. About a week ago, I nearly built something like this: Gladly I realized what I was about to do and did not build it like that. Even if this is solvable, it's still a pita to disassemble.
  19. I think, doing something like this on purpose is pretty stupid!
  20. This year was really really good for me. I mostly purchased Technic sets this year (or got them), so I will leave out "normal" Lego sets. Here is what I purchased/got: 8458 8466 9393 9394 9395 9396 42009 The first two, I got used through eBay. The rest were regular purchases. Mostly through Amazon. All in all, I was pretty satisfied. There were only minor things to complain, like the bad weight distribution on 9393. In addition to that I got parts through BL, worth approximately 200€. Mostly Technic parts to supply the collection for building a series of MOCs, like Crowkillers Supercars among others.
  21. Or maybe make a open frame construction instead of closed surfaces with panels.
