  1. Well I guess there are "suitable" foods and "bad" foods when building Lego. Everything that melts or is in any kind greasy is bad. On the other hand, healthy things seem to be more suitable as the mentioned carrot sticks or something like that. Peppers would be fine as well. Gummy-Bears or the like are somewhat ok, though they put some fat (?) on your fingers as well. As well as those little pretzels we have something called Salzstangen here in Germany. It is basically the same, but as a stick. Regarding the half-hour break: This won't really work. Imagine you are building a set and are currently in the middle of a step when your reminder beeps. You discard the alarm, because it is annoying and say you just finish the step. Until you finished the step, you forgot to make a break or you simply want to continue a step or two. After that, it is all over and you'll never make your break. Usually I eat nothing while building or make a break to eat if needed. For drinks, everything is ok. Soda, juice, water, alcoholic beverages ...
  2. There were, for a fact, two stickers with the LEGO logo and TECHNIC for 1x4 plates in 8110 Unimog. See here:
  3. According to Rebrickable, my collection is slightly below 25k.
  4. I can only speak for my NXT, but the BT stack of my Laptop and my cheap BT dongle I got from eBay (which is now 6 or 7 years old) as well as my Android devices show no problems when connecting to my NXT brick.
  5. I would guess that this is and was (for NXT) not the problem of the programmable brick, but the problem of Apple products. *stopapplehate*
  6. Well I just need a color sensor :D
  7. Thanks for the link. This is very valuable information. Too bad, that sensors are not compatible.
  8. On the same note, are there certain compatabilities between NXT 2.0 and EV3? Like, could I run the color or touch sensor from EV3 on my old NXT brick?
  9. This is a very iconic car. Even for me as being german. But nowadays, you don't see them very often anymore. Also, I don't recall having ever seen a 4x4 version. You captured the shape very well. I wonder how fast this will go. Also, I really think the front grill with the iconic logo really adds the most to the looks.
  10. Please let me present you my blog. http://brickstastic.wordpress.com/ I am trying to sum up my story with Lego and of course showcase the MOCs I built and/or created myself, excellent MOCs from other builders and my thoughts on new sets. In the future I plan to also make reviews for the sets I have and my general thoughts about Lego, building techniques and questions that form in my head.
  11. Well, it seems everything has worked out well. Congratulations!
  12. Thanks. In fact, the boards are 37.5 cm deep. So it is deep enough for either 2 rows of books or some of the bigger MOCs The table plates are 80 cm deep. The long side is 3,20 metres and the short side is 1,60 metres.
  13. in to ... not into ... lol :-D But, I forgot I have the design graphics for my table. Take a look if you want. That is how it will be.
  14. I would like to present my work desk as well. But it is not yet finished, because I am currently moving into the flat of my girlfriend and still need to finish building my shelve and desk. But it will be somewhat similar to what Doc_Brown has, but then again totally different. I'll definately post it, once it is finished. Currently building takes place on the couch when I have the time. I'll pre-sort parts and build other peoples MOCs mainly at the moment. Once my building area is completed I can put more time and effort into building and have some great plans for the future.
  15. Hi Jurgen, I didn't check the instructions yet too thoroughly nor do I have 42009 yet. But I have a question. Have you included sync for the winch when raising/lowering and extending/retracting the boom or are the speeds just synchonized by the gearing up/down and simultaneously using them? From the video it looks as being automatically synchonized.
  16. I will finally take my turn on this great model. And I will try and use Therion's instructions for this. I guess it will still be easier than disassembling the whole .lxf file. The parts are already sorted, so I could probably start right away.
  17. I am a little late with this, but I have just finished my own little review of the Porsche. If anyone wants to read it, here is the link: http://brickstastic.wordpress.com/2013/08/23/porsche-997-gt3-from-crowkillers/ Though it is mainly praise, but this model deserves it.
  18. Wow. That test chassis is pretty fast.
  19. Or the old Bionicle vehicles, which had lots of panels. From the thread title I was first thinking about sets that holds rare parts, like 8450 which was the only set with 19L black flex axles.
  20. @Polo-Freak well THAT would be most awesome.
  21. To really find your love again, build them. Also, in the general section is a thread for storage and sorting Lego which could give you some cool advise for your collection. Also in this very Technic section is a thread for showing off your collection, please use that for inspiration and to show off your collection of course.
  22. Oh ... okay. I'll wait for the real thing then ;)
  23. To be honest, I am a bit disappointed right now, because I expected you to attempt a Ford Focus in Technic and scale ~1:10. Also the digital model looks a bit too blocky in some sections. I know it is hard to build such shapes with bricks but it doesn't meet my expectations right now. Perhaps I'll say something different when it is built from real bricks. Also, the wheelbase of the Focus isn't wider in the back than in the front. But not everything is bad ;) I like how you did the lower reflectors, tail lights and the indent for the license plate. This is to me the most appealing area, because it allows me to recognize the car. Please accept my humble and non-professional criticism.
  24. Are you a member of a LUG? No, not yet. Currently much of my freetime is held with the local firefighters. But soon I will move. I will think about this again then. Another thing is, that I am not entirely sure to know how a LUG actually works and what exactly defines it. But I consider it as some sort of club. Would you consider supporting more actively the online AFOL community (e.g. Eurobricks) as moderator, regulator (indexing, ...), making set reviews, etc.? I'd love to do something for the online AFOL community. Something like reviews, photography, articles, proofreader ... If the answer is no, what's the reason (e.g. lack of time, ...)? Currently, the lack of time and moving between my home, work, girlfriends home. Even my own blog was a victim to that and other hobbies, too. I am just glad, that I could maintain sticking to LEGO the last months.
  25. Wow. This is something really original.
