  1. Learning the hard way is always tough. Next time, do something like that on the ground
  2. Lots of hot water? But, very interesting method of separating eggs. And even completely non-mechanical, yet functional.
  3. The only thing that I really had built wrong and only realized some time later myself was one friggin gear in an outrigger of 42009. But, I got used copies of 8458 and 8466 last year. And 8458 had some bent liftarms in the wrong color. Nothing major though. It wasn't even visible on the model.
  4. From just looking very closely (because the picture is so small), it might be possible to replace the 2 micromotors with a single regular PF M-motor.
  5. It's really impressive how you squeezed all this into such a small model. Also I like your collection of wheel loaders. This is very cool. I have a suggestion for the fake engine though. You could have built something without using the fake cylinders. Like it was done in the 9393 B-model. That would probably fit better to the scale.
  6. Very nice. Still, I think it should be wider on the rear axle.
  7. Since this is mostly my own version and I didn't think about the dogbones in the front I had to improvise a lot. So far it is very sturdy. But I think this depends a bit on how I built the front. Well the ackerman steering is working the wrong way. But the steering lock is huge, which is a fat pro.
  8. Here is the pic: As I said, I only had some soft shocks available. Thus I had to support the back somehow. Also I put some 9398 wheels in the back, because I was too lazy to put the correct ones together.
  9. shimon: I compared your lxf to mine and found some interesting things I didn't even think about and make totally sense. Also, I finished my real build with the help of your lxf. In the end, I realized that I somewhere got some lengths wrong so my model is a stud shorter or so. I think, the rear axle is not built with double 6L thin beams, but with 7L beams instead. But that is just my thoughts. In the end, I need to rebuild my version
  10. I gave this one a try myself. Got it mostly finished and probably some sections totally wrong. Will take a look later to see if I can improve my own version.
  11. Ah okay. Makes sense if you think about chain tension
  12. This is so cool. Can't wait for the instructions.
  13. Cool, but why no chain drive instead of gears?
  14. I think that depends on the actual look and feel. Does the nylon "behave" like the rubber of the original flex axles?
  15. Thank you Eric. Exactly what I meant.
  16. Why should it stop spinning? That makes no sense.
  17. You can drive two functions through a turntable as it was made in 8043. Then you can have a second shaft going up that drives your gondolas.
  18. Ok ... idea worked out, parts sorted out and ready. Let's see if I can build what I imagined
  19. This is very ambitious, but I think the prices for the complete sets are ridiculous.
  20. Cool contest. This will be very interesting!
  21. I don't think that it would work if the uppercarriage could really rotate when the stabilizers are deployed. I didn't think about that before. It would work if the stabilizers somehow "rotate" around the uppercarriage, but that would pose similar problems as with stabilizers in the chassis. Hm ... forget my idea please
  22. Nope, correctly understood. But I understand this is a special challenge to construct, because of a) space in uppercarriage b) aligning the outriggers so they still provide diagonal support. I think the approach could produce very interesting and challenging results.
  23. Mounted on the uppercarriage. So the support they give goes directly to where it is needed.
