G'day. This is my entry to the Technic C-model contest. I borrowed my sons lego set and created this helicopter loosely based on the Apache helicopter. I used the technic set 9394 Jet Plane 499 pcs, http://brickset.com/...394-1/Jet-Plane. The biggest challenge was to make it different to other helicopters and with limited pieces, so I came up with the idea of a handle and trigger that the faster you pulled the trigger (lever) the faster the rotor would spin but still be able to be free spun. Then have removable weapons and be sturdy enough for kids. 4 days of play from 3 boys it still works. Free Rotating rotor blades. Removable swivel undercarriage gun. Removable rocket/missile wing store pylons. Retractable front main wheels. Retractable handle for one handed use to lever to spin main rotor blades. Geared and sprung lever to spin main rotor blades. Movable pilotage system. 9394 C Model Helicopter by jono.rocky, on Flickr 9394 C Model Helicopter by jono.rocky, on Flickr 9394 C Model Helicopter by jono.rocky, on Flickr 9394 C Model Helicopter by jono.rocky, on Flickr 9394 Left over pieces by jono.rocky, on Flickr

Completely awesome moc. Great detail and F\functions.Will be a great one to build. Have also built your corvette but my eldest son who loves cars- holdens and corvettes claimed it. This will be under lock and key. -
What if I have all the parts for the single set or for both sets to be modeled on for the c model, but not all in the right color. Can It still be entered knowing they are the right parts just slightly wrong in color?

Realy cool idea, will have to try them out. -
This will be a awesome set to have and I have ideas on a "c" model to go with it. I agree before that the distance between the front wheel and the bucket is quite long but given the size of legos acuators I gues it has to. I have but one dislike and thats the turn radius, its needs more. I used to drive night shift with a cat 988 at a sand quarry and the monsters could turn on a dime. The green engine is different and why not we need different coloured parts. had to laugh when I noticed the controllers on the box, its one controller copy, paste and that will do it. Hope they fix that image ( yes its sad I still have all my boxes stored away) Ive no doubt missed it somewhere but does anyone know when its available?.

I never knew they had comps. would be interesting to find out about it. On my Moc pages I have a couple a couple of alternate builds. http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/53377 8043 alternate bulldozer 8297 alternate tow truck and this one, as well as a few more. The instructions are getting better with the more I do. I have on the computer in technic- A log truck and trailer, concrete truck and a front end loader based on the set 8459 but in studless. The loader is in 3 different builds one is just a redo, another with a battery, lights and a motorized pump, the other is a rc version using 4 motors 2recievers 2 sets of lights the rechargeble battery box and 3 small acuators. Thank you everyone for your comments.

G'day. Can anyone help me to fix this problem with a model that I have done. It was a MLCad file>LDview>then export to povray. I get this error // 0 BLACK / 26 BLACK [ORIGINAL LGEO srgb] // LDRAW // PEERON <27,42,52> (LOOKS TOO BLUE) #declare lg_black = texture { pigment { color srgb <33,33,33>/255 } (this line is highlighted yellow) finish { lg_solid_finish } Its under the "solid color" heading At the bottom of the Povray window it says Parse Error: No Matching } in 'pigment', undeclared identifier 'srgb' found instead Ive used the all in one installer for MlCad. thank you

[HELP] 42009 Outriggers
jono rocky replied to Dr3's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
G'day. I had the same problem as well but found a simple solution. By changing the Blue axle pin with the tan axle pin to reduce friction which allows them to go up and down. As an example, the blue axle pins in book 2, page 18 and step 1 and 8 change to the tan ones. Hope this helps. Another way to help the power of the motor is to swap the AA batteries to rechargeable 1.2V 1,900mAh ones they are fairly cheap and good power without over doing it.
