  1. I keep using the HMS prefix as well, and it seems more Corrington captains do ;-)
  2. HMS Isandlwana // Tomsche // Corrington HMS Terrigan // Tomsche // Corrington The Founding of Quinnsville // Tomsche // Corrington MCRA Bringing in the Riches // Tomsche // Corrington Transferring Command // Tomsche // Corrington
  3. My second ship I`ve build for BoBS, the HMS Isandlwana is a `class 0 ship`. These small vessels can be registred for a measly 15 doubloons (which I`ll be doing someday soonish), and as one of the first two builds of a month they already pay back 10 DBs. Based on the actual `Norfolk Wherry` ships, who saw service in official capacity as far back as the rennaissance right until the last one was retired from commercial shipping in... 1967, this also the only type of sailing ship I actually `been` on. Wherry`s are used to ferry goods in the calmer coastal waters and down inland waterways, and often saw service with larger sailing ships to unload them where ports couldn`t handle their size or the cargo needed to be divided over several waterside villages. The HMS Isandlwana, "captained" by Miss Forsythe-Smith, serves the (for the moment) small port of (to be founded soon) Quinnsville, as the new settlement isn`t big enough (yet) to handle large trade vessels or multiple cargo vessels at once. Nobody knows where she came up with the name, but gossip tells that she is the widow of a deceased officer of the army, lost in some far away country in a battle woth natives. She probably chose the excentric sail design for that reason as well, but remains very closed on the subject when inquired.
  4. She has a nice line and a great colour scheme, top ship
  5. There wasn`t said we all where filthy rich, but `that MAESTRO would want all the ships they can get`... that could also mean we will all be moccing a pile of driftwood this week to get 10 DBs for building our MCRA run. I said it in the beginning, and I`ll keep repeating it, knowing my abysmal luck I`ll probably be the captain of the first ship on the ocean`s bottom...
  6. That`s a nice piece of printing equipment you build there
  7. Well, usually in books the Age of Sail ended the moment the Monitor engaged the Virginia, though in general lines it was a bit earlier as the Ironclads went into development. I think personally to have a `decent` timeline, it might be better to consider it ended a bit before that, about the beginning of the 18th century, generally considered at the end of the Napoleonic war. Within that timeframe, there is already a LARGE difference in ships and technology, like the size of ships and guns, to have a great variety to build around. Take for example a Venetian galley from the Battle of Lepanto and compare to Nelson`s HMS Victory...
  8. It might give some inspiration, but here is a list of (british) professions during that agem and how they where called. I`ve certainly scored some ideas from that already for some properties in the settlement The List
  9. I really like those little ships, and the firing cannon is just awesome
  10. I`ll take that serious compliment in serious gratitude, seriously!
  11. I love those flowers, and I admit I am going to steal that stud on flower thingie
  12. It`s a belgian company, Mijn Blokje, who engraves bricks for you. At 1.10 a brick, I find that a handy source for all my builds, and since I know the persons behind it well, I can usually skip the shipping as we tend to run into each other at least once a month.
  13. Et voila, got `the most important bricks` for when I start building my settlement
  14. Nice little `box of guns` you have there, I love those sails I really should get my GF to her sowing machine to make me some ;-)
  15. I like the use of the barrels incorporated in the masts
  16. That`s a fine ship for a mexican Love the furled up sails, and the lantern design is cool indeed.
  17. Thats a very clean build, love the sand green in the roof, the pillars and the cobblestones
  18. The white in the middle isn`t a bra hehehe Mah, she is going to be the middle building in a trade street, hence she gets the flags :-)
  19. My latest piece for the Brethren of the Brick Seas, this will be a `Commerce building - small 16x16` when I get the 25 doubloons needed to register it... and the land where the city of Quinnsville will be founded is sorted out. The house is the location anyone wanting to do trade with in the city will be registring their enterprise, and serves as the place of contact for the MAESTRO Trade Company in the new land, where Lewin Daggenholl keeps the city and company charters for the mayor. While his wife will serve the waiting traders a refreshing drink, his only worry at times is where his up to no good daughter Harley is hanging out again. Ever since she stated she wanted to become a circus performer instead of a lady befitting her stature as daughter of one of the most influential man on the island, his mood has been terrible. Even the kitty he bought her, Batsey, is more trouble then it`s worth... oh, the "joys" of puberity. The building is made on a 16x16 baseplate, sharing the same cobblestone style as the foundry earlier and a warehouse I once build for GOH (my `Store phase 3'). The store has been recycled to go into the Quinnsville layout I hope to start on very soon, as both side beaches for the modular are already completed, but need to be `equipped` still with build on them. That way, when the initial three plates are locked together, it becomes one long connecting road, great for adding consistency to the whole city. Of course, the building flies all the main colours, from left to right the Quinnsville flag, the MAESTRO trade company flagg and the Corrington royal flag. Hope you like it! And if you`re not a royal subject of the Queen Annetta of Corrington, any approvals and thumbs ups are appreciated as this is my third freebuild of the month.
  20. Her camouflage colours (hehehehe) will surely help her in navigating the zealots waters. I like her lines, she looks indeed a swift packet
