Unfortunately I didn't have any time to build last week, so this week's build is a special double length episode. Hope it's not too much! Location: C04 Tags: Civil, Science, Building. Interrogation Room 1, M.A.N.T.I.S. Supply Ship, Sorn orbit, 6 Julali 3815. …and then I swam all the way back to M.A.N.T.I.S. territory! Very impressive! Chief Accountant Long! Come to hear about my heroic escape from Kawashita captivity? I’m afraid I just finished my debriefing… I’ll read the report of your little vacation later Sal. I’m here to give you your next assignment. Vacation?! I was brutally tortured! M.A.N.T.I.S. Employee Handbook Chapter 3 Section 12 Subsection 14 Line 6 clearly states that time spent in enemy captivity comes out of your holiday entitlement. WHAT?? It encourages a speedy escape. Anyway, enough chitchat. I’ve noticed that we’re currently spending over 0.0000001% of the budget on daily anti-histamines for employee hay fever. This is an unacceptable inefficiency and I want it fixed by next week. You want me to cure hay fever? In a week?? Yes. Though by the time you get to Aeristus you’ll have five days. Your ship is waiting. But… Excerpt from the lab book of Big Sal: Experiment Code: L2C04. Laboratory: Laboratory Outpost 2, Aeristus. Lead Scientist: Big Sal. Aim: Find a permanent cure for hay fever. Date: 8 Julali 3815. Subject number: 001. Subject hay fever symptoms: Excessive sweating. Attempted treatment: Laser nose surgery. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! Just hold still and stop being such a baby! Treatment outcome: Failure. --- Date: 9 Julali 3815. Subject number: 002. Subject hay fever symptoms: Rapid drowsiness. Attempted treatment: Ingestion of awesomnium enhanced larvae. Wow, all these larvae for me? And it’s not even Friday! Treatment outcome: Failure. --- Date: 10 Julali 3815. Subject number: 003. Subject hay fever symptoms: Swelling of eyes and face. Attempted treatment: Direct awesomnium serum injection. This will really cure my hay fever? You’ve tested it before? Oh sure, we’ve had spectacular results with it in the past… Treatment outcome: Failure. --- Date: 11 Julali 3815. Subject number: 004. Subject hay fever symptoms: Bloodshot eyes. Attempted treatment: Massive exposure to alien flora. I really don't see how this will work… Chief Accountant Long will be here tomorrow expecting a cure! You got any better ideas? Treatment outcome: Failure. --- Date: 12 Julali 3815. Subject number: 005. Subject hay fever symptoms: Extreme paleness. Attempted treatment: Psychosomatic therapy via the Persuadomatic. You do not suffer from hay fever. You have never suffered from hay fever. You especially don’t suffer from hay fever today. I completely agree! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! What’s happening to me! I don’t suffer from hay fever! I've never suffered from hay fever! I especially don't suffer from hay fever today! Shhhhh! That’s Long’s ship landing! I’ll have to go up and meet her… but maybe if I leave the Persuadomatic on I can convince her I’ve found a cure… Treatment outcome: Failure. Excerpt ends. Chief Accountant Long! How lovely to see you! Right this way! Is that the Persuadomatic? Why yes it is! A wonderful invention of mine, wouldn’t you agree? Yes, it’s actually very impressive... Praise! I think it’s working! ...of course, as soon as I heard that it actually worked I took the antidote. Damn it! Now, I believe you were going to demonstrate the hay fever cure? Um… yes. The subjects are outside in the grass and you’ll see that they’re completely cured. Voila! They’re all wearing helmets. Helmets are even more expensive than anti histamines Sal, this better not be your idea of a cure. Hahaha… uh, no, of course not! It’s just, uh, the berries from that tree are quite heavy and if they fall, well… as you know, employee health and safety is my number one priority! Yes. Helmets off please. You see? Cured! Hmmm, good work Sal. Achoo! Damn it! Goodbye Sal. You’re to stay here on Aeristus until you’ve found a cure. But… Phew! Comments and criticism welcome! A couple more pics in the spoiler.

[K - C04] The Finishing Touches Location: C04, Aeristus Tags: Land Vehicle, Vehicle, Building (the hangar, the judges will once again have to decide if it counts), Kawashita I have actually wanted to build a skeletonized mech since a couple of weeks ago, and now the time has finally come. The mech is somewhere around 830+ pieces, not including background or minifig. Since I got some scolding (hehe) from Bob a couple of weeks ago, I've put a lot of focus on buildability, rigidity and poseability, and I'm fairly certain it would be possible to build the mech and pose it essentially any way you would want IRL. C&C welcome, as always! --//Alpha Level Encrypted Private Log Begin. Date: 2007(38)15. Scramble code: ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... [Encrypted].//-- [Alpha Level Encryption... Checking Security Clearance Level... ... ... Passed.] When exploiting a new and uncharted galaxy, there always seem to be some kind of emergency. One minute you're doing frontier science, developing a teleportation drive never before seen in human history, and the next, The Board insists that you drop everything in order to develop new weapons to fight M.A.N.T.I.S. with on the frontlines. *Sigh*, wouldn't it be better if these kinds of tasks were handed to lower level employees? I mean sure, I guess I'm kind of in their debt since they gave my quite a promotion despite The Heart of Awsomnium being destroyed, but in the end, it's just a title and some extra credits (which in the end go back to Kawashita, I mean, who else would I buy things from?)... No matter what, it's always quite nice to finish up a "little" project. Sometimes you just want to jump in there with a screwdriver and put in those finishing touches yourself. In the end I must say I'm fairly satisfied with the VBHAR (Very Big Heavily Armed Robot) - 207. With its standard loadout, consisting of a heavy duty arm, and a combined gatling laser and missile launcher, it can quite easily destroy most types of enemy craft. Thanks to its high mobility, including a newly developed anti-gravity ring (Note to self: we should seek to replace this with teleportation technology as soon as possible), it should also be able to avoid most incoming damage. Right now, it just needs some custom plating and then it should be ready to go. --//Alpha Level Encrypted Private Log End. Signature: Lt. Gen. Q. I found a new way to use group function that turn LDD LXF file into easy to use digital building instruction. Authors can manual fully control steps and building order. No more confuse, no more long time waiting for big LDD file to auto generate LDD BI. Group & sub-group bricks by building order -> hide all -> hide each group icon then undo(ctrl+Z)to make bricks show up in building order. For simple way. Just select groups icon in order to make LDD highlight each brick step by step. Below is topic link of Realistic Helicopter Rotor Head Swashplate (Cyclic & Collective). There are three Youtube video and many rendering pictures. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=90047

With the exception of the 16x32 base plate this model is built using only the parts available in the 10211 Grand Emporium kit. When I set out to build this the only thing I was trying to do is avoid having the facade look like the donor kit. It came out much better than I expected given I only had so many pieces to work with. More pictures of better quality at http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/377737 and information about instructions at http://www.AlteredBricks.com Thanks for looking.

The "Dares" Thread! This is a thread in which you can dare your fellow Eurobrickers to build things based on your challenges. How does it work? Well, you can format your dares like this: Dare - [insert initial dare here] DD - [double dare! Expand a bit!] TD - [triple dare!] BP- [bonus points; an outrageous challenge based on your original dare. This one's for all the InternetCookies!] I'll start: Dare - Build a vignette that contains at least 6 DC supervillians. DD - Make them all be working for a common cause! TD - Make Batman be coordinating this supervillian team. BP - Bonus points if the vignette is tiny - 8x8 or so.

Master Architect Challenge There are many wonders of architecture throughout Historica: massive dwarven halls, lofty elven towers, elegant cathedrals, and impregnable fortresses. But Revolword and the Elementals have laid waste to many of these structures. Now that Revolword has been defeated, craftsmen across Historica have started taking up their tools to rebuild the former glory of Historica. Show your character assisting in either the building of a new architectural wonder, or assisting in the repairs of a building damaged by the Hand or Elementals. The main focus of your MOC should be on the architecture of the building and construction work on the building. Maximum size 48x48 (2304 studs in any configuration), minimum size 8x8 (in any configuration). Deadline: August 1 (as long as it is still August 1st somewhere in the world, entries will be accepted) Prizes: There will be a winner selected from each guild and they will earn a guild specific parts pack and GoH title: "Master Architect of Historica" Prize packs: Builds will be scored in 3 categories 1. Guild style - How well does the build work with the overall styles and theme of the Guild? Are you incorporating your Guild colors? Does this look like it would fit well within some region of your guild? If your build is actually set in the lands of another guild, explain where it is and why you're building it. 2. Technique - Is your build very original? How does your build stand apart? Have you utilized some new techniques that you haven't seen before? Did you have a very intriguing storyline or did you show entertaining interactions between the characters in your MOC? Creativity and originality will help boost your score here. 3. Presentation - Does your presentation pop? Are your pictures crisp and clear? Did you provide different views of you build? Did you provide a good description of the build to accompany your pictures? Photo quality is a key aspect. Post a pic of your entry here, and a link to the topic. If you have any questions please ask

Hey everyone, new to the site. I have a hard question to ask all of you but didn't know where to post it so I'm starting a new thread...Ok so I've seen alot going on with this WW2 military scenes that people have been building for WW2 battle scenes and the such. The question I've got is, I collect vintage GI Joes (80's) and I'm looking to use lego for the back ground for my diearamas. I've seen this neat little bunker which is 12x12 on a 16x16 base plate, I've put a GI Joe into the bunker and it fits snugly, I'd like to make the bunker maybe twice the size of the 12x12 bunker and see how that looks with my GI Joe. What I'm looking to do is after I tackle this little project is I'd like to look into further buildings for 1/18th scale to fit the GI Joe scene. Thanks in advance for any and all help guys.

Hi guys. Here is my latest modular - the Lion's Heart Hotel. A small boutique hotel, with just three rooms, including a very spacious penthouse. This one is also inspired by a Brisbane building - the Inchcolm Hotel. It has an elevator, which is borrowed from the Town Hall (the design, not the actual elevator). In the lobby is a statue of the knight who was said to have the heart of a lion in battle. And a neat little telephone bench. The first floor has a single and a double room. And the best room in hotel, the penthouse suite. The hotel is missing a restaurant and bar, but our guests will just have to go next door. I don't think I'd be able to lift the building if I added another floor! Good excuse to add a restaurant to the list of buildings to do. There are more photos on flickr. Comments and suggestions always welcome.

Hi everyone. Here is my latest modular building. It's a handbag store, called "Coveted Clutch", that is based on my normal avatar. The store is on the ground floor and there is an apartment upstairs where the store owner and designer of the handbags lives. The bit from my avatar is the left side of the storefront, changed a little to make it wider and taller. I think of it as Soho meets Friends. Enough babble, here are some photos. My favourite part - the first floor windows. Overview of the store on the ground floor: Dining, lounge and kitchen on the first floor: Bedroom and bathroom on the second floor: More photos on flickr. Here's a MOC I made of the best hotdog place in Western MA! Nick's Nest is located on Northampton St, Holyoke MA, USA. Nick's Nest is famous for its hot dogs, baked beans, popcorn and frappes (milkshakes). Nick Malfas started his business in Northampton MA in 1921 with a popcorn pushcart. In 1927, he opened a restaurant just 50' away from where it is today. This building and interior are from 1948. The hot dogs are still made from the original 1920s recipe combining beef, pork and spices with no fillers. It's one of those places where they put the condiments on the hotdog for you (you're not allowed to do it yourself!), and they have a great selection of fries, beans and sodas. Here it is in real-life, so you can compare: And a view of the interior: Available on MOC-Pages: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/423772 This will also be on show at both the Amherst Railway Show at the Big E Fairgrounds in West Springfield MA Jan 30/31, as well as BrickFair New England in Marlboro MA in May 2016.

Location: F10 - Arium Major Tags: Military, Land Vehicle, Building Gattsu? Melanie Mashkov - Murakumo Security, take that armor of and come with me, it's time for your training. Ok I'll just take this thing off and- Statement: Master I am afraid that is not an option, removing F3NR1R may disrupt the Nanomites that bonded with your body and thus result in potential organ failure. Well frag, that's just lovely. Wait, what if I have to use the bathroom? I'll see if I can find some kind of solution, I need to work on disconnecting you from the really expensive suit anyway or we'll all be in trouble. Fine, in the mean time just come with me, we are going to Arium Major for combat training. (Gattsu and Melanie take a shuttle to an abandoned Kawashita base on F10) This seems like a strange place to come for a training exercise, couldn't we've just used the holodeck or something? Don't worry, just stand right there while I get on this freight elevator. (Hangar-bay doors open and a large machine comes rolling into the hangar.) Oh frag, is that a Goliath Tank Drone, those aren't even legal for companies to- You'd better defend yourself, it's set to search and destroy mode. (The Goliath begins to tear up the room with it's Gattling arm mount.) Statement: Master I recommend activating Combat mode and dodging it's attacks, finding a weapon would also be advised. Bloody megablocks, frag frag frag, doesn't this suit have any build in weapons. Statement: Negatory Master, the F3NR1R is an enhancement type suit, while not equipped with weaponry it does come with jump jets. (Gattsu manages to avoid the hailfire and snatches a crowbar, while the Goliath now attempts to roast Gattsu with it's Napalmer thanks to the jump jets Gattsu manages to jump over the machine and jams a crowbar in it's exhaust vents disabling the drone.) Wow, I'm somehow quicker, more responsive. Statement: Affermative Master, as previously mentioned, you are wearing an enhancement type suit. You brute! You're not elegant at all. (How did those idiots think your Kawashita special forces material.) Elegant? Well at least you did one thing right, you managed to pinpoint and strike out at it's weak spot, good operatives know that everything has a weak spot. (I suppose you might be special forces material after all.) Wait, what are you talking about? This was a test, to see if you're really suited to be a special forces operative. Didn't they tell you? No. They did now. So am I like a spy now or something? I doubt it, they probably hired you to wreck things. So what's your weak spot? I don't have a weak spot. But you just said everything has a- Oh shut up. Comments, Criticism, Suggestions, Advice etc are always appreciated.

Purple Pharmacist by Duncan Adkins, on Flickr What makes something a 'dark ages'? Is it just any time you take away from the hobby, or is it something that's up to the interpretation of the MOCer? Regardless, it seems like it's one of those things where you know it when you see it. And with that overwrought musing over, I'd like to jump back into this great old hobby headfirst with this MOC here, the Purple Pharmacist! Purple Pharmacist Sketch by Duncan Adkins, on Flickr Designed in the vein of the official modular buildings, and with a careful adherence to not go crazy with the unlimited pieces and unlimited space offered by LDD, this is a 2553 piece homage to the official sets. My process for designing started with a nascent idea that I wanted to try out some of the new purple pieces in the Friends sets- particularly Lavender. However, I found out that it is very limited in the number of pieces it comes in when those pieces are to be applied to a modular, and I thought that Medium Lilac meshed much better with the nougat of the brick bricks that I ended up wanting to use. Plus there are 1x2x3 windows in medium lilac/purple! With the simple idea that I wanted to use purple in mind, I delved into books, sketch paper, and Google image searches in order to put together a mood board of what types of architecture I'd like to pull from, as well as what colors I'd want to use. Then I came upon this: This italianate building in Cincinnati, Ohio's Over-the-Rhine district was almost exactly what I was imagining I wanted my building to look like. With all that in mind and planning finished, I built! Some of the trends from the modular buildings I took into account with my build were liberal use of striping, a primarily grey first floor facade, unique but meaningful color blocking, and a façade that is intricate in design, but not 'busy'. The ivy on the front was one big part of the 'intricate but not busy' paradigm- it added a lot of interest to the front and differentiated the top and middle floors, while not looking out of place and not clashing with the rest of the build. Purple Pharmacist by Duncan Adkins, on Flickr Outside of the façade I took some liberties though! I wanted to include a pergola in a build ever since seeing woooootles' Wasabi District Avenue Residences, so I did! Outside of that, the rear was mostly bland, as there will likely be little attention paid to it if this ever gets built. ;P Purple Pharmacist Rear by Duncan Adkins, on Flickr Purple Pharmacist roof by Duncan Adkins, on Flickr The way I designed the building posed a problem though- since I designed the façade before building out the rest of the building, all the way to the top, I had a design that I liked a lot, but it severely limited my options when adding the breakapart functionality of a classic modular building. It wasn't too bad between the ground floor and middle floor, or middle floor and top floor, but the relatively complicated and fragile structure of the cornice would have prevented adding in another plate layer. So I had to get creative- instead of popping off, the roof slides out! The rear wall and two outcroppings with tiles at the front hold the roof plates up, while the chimney actually serves as a 'clip' to hold the entire superstructure on! It works out perfectly, since the roof can be built entirely out of 4x10 dark grey plates. Purple Pharmacist Interior by Duncan Adkins, on Flickr Since I was trying to stay true to a limited part count for this one, only the first floor has a completed interior- but it's a fully stocked pharmacy with multiple shelves, a scale, a fancy curved desk for the pharmacist, and newspaper rack to sell people on while they wait for their prescription! On the residential side of the stairs, there is a bike rack and a hat rack, as well as the door out to the back patio. Unfortunately, it will be some time before this MOC has a chance of seeing the light of day. The 1x4/2x4 medium lilac slopes that are integral to the gable do not exist in any usable variety, and so construction is going to be held off until that piece...exists. Which is why I posted it here as only renders and screenshots instead of glorious full color photographs. In the mean time, you can look forward to my Police Headquarters MOC, which will be posted and explained in detail as soon as it's built! Constructive criticism welcome; it's good to be back!

I caught some of your TPS reports you have sent out and I see you are ready to attack Mantis, and Spacer Steve right away... Of course, the facts show he did it. Are you sure? Of course I am, I am the CEO. Are you sure? YES, why are we dealing with this and not my legs! What kind of questions are these??? There is more you need to know, before you start a war, Col. Brik.

Hi folks, My long running saga of a project has finally been finished. Inspired by a trip to Portugal this summer, Rua Amarelo is a corner street featuring a Pasteleria and a hat shop. The yellow corner building is perhaps more authentic in colour and I would of preferred to have made a tiled effect for the narrower building but could not source enough tiles from what I had at my disposal. Really would like TLG to bring back sand red in an assortment of pieces! No interior this time but I'm hoping to have something to see inside on my next MOC which is already planned. Anyway on with all 4 of the pics; You can view them at flickr if you so wish https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Comments welcome!
