Thanks jtooker! I too wonder what this architecture would look like expanded to more buildings.... Thanks zoth33! Thanks buddy, I totally see what you mean. In fact, I used similar angular door jam similar shaping with a previous dwarven build!

Looks awesome so far!

This is a really nice wagon! I think the only bit of this MOC that leans towards "comedic" as you noted is the height of the bench for the driver. If it was attached to the wagon 2 studs lower I think that would help a lot with the proportions.

There's some great architectural work in this MOC and some clever parts usage adde51! Those grey armor pieces near the top of the coral tower in particular are both unexpected and perfect.

Nice build Gideon! I like your approach to the challenge here with building a tower that is not the typical watch tower format and in doing so you also added relevant lore to the lengthy pages of Historica.

Thanks! Thanks Grover! Yes, I was trying to keep all the rockwork horizontal here in general as I thought it would be the quickest/easiest/most parts efficient method to build out the base and I thought it look pretty cool as well. I do admit that the overhang got a little bit out of control for that section though! Thanks Louis! "for some reason the trees growing out of it don't bother me at all." That's fair! Until you mentioned it it honestly never occurred to me that trees as big as are here probably would have a tough time growing as I depicted.

CDC1 Tower: Mitgardian Watchtower of Treacleheim

I'm glad you were able to squeeze this one in under the deadline MKJoshA! Your signature lavender foliage works well in the frozen landscape once again and I like the tower itself, making it look like it was truly cut into the cliff probably wasn't easy but it looks great. -
CDC1 Tower: Ssilyrrlith's Retreat - [NCW] Feathers of Fate

Cool tower! It definitely has that Nocty vibe but transported to Kaliphlin. The spiky plants also feel appropriately dangerous.- 20 replies

Your color choices here are simply awesome mccoyed. The color blocking of those colors is on point and the overall shaping of the beast is just perfect. I really like how you incorporated the wheel well pieces too! I never would have thought of using those to ease the transition between body and appendage.

Perhaps the most awesome thing about this challenge is how it has pulled the old guard back into the Guilds for a while! As others have noted already, the sand dune technique is really cool--was the minimal elevation change here intentional? I'm wondering what that method looks like with a little more height change between each ring. As for the tower itself, it's certainly evocative of the chess piece and I really like the colors. Good to see you building in Kaliphlin again Si-MOCs!

Instantly recognizable as Varlyrian!

I really like that tower! Using all those 45 degree slopes in the SNOT stonework to create really deep texture works really well here for my eye and framing everything with brown certainly adds that timber touch that reminds of the northern Guild's building style. As always, your rockwork is on point here as well. Great MOC!

Geez, this MOC looks like a movie set or something. Very imposing! You've definitely developed a personal style with your rockwork often incorporating striations of color and it's well done here as well. Some kind of crazy fit of inspiration or table scrap fiddling must have struck you with respect to the throne itself; it's just perfect!

A very Nocty-like build here. I agree with much of the above regarding the foliage, the tree is great here with the red horns. I also think the tower is really great given the restrictions you imposed!

The contrast between the tan of the surrounding desert + the about-to-crash-down waves and the white/green of the city really helps convey the action here--I wonder if that might have been further enhanced by swapping the black boarder for tan as well. I totally love your use of the 3-leaf stem pieces as palm trees. Going to have to remember that! Another nice MOC adde51!

This is a really cool build! Very atmospheric and the way you lit this is just perfect.

I like how bright these are Kai! The buildings certainly capture the spirit of the new blacksmith shop and scale it down into a more "classic castle" footprint.

CDC1 Tower: Harburg's Southern Watchtower

The handlebar technique for offset bricks is rather inspired SK. And, that little wooden section on the side is just lovely (they make reddish brown ingots????? ) as are the trees--they almost seem like a more detailed evolution of the flex tubing tree trunks that were everywhere a while back. I can't say switching the brickwork technique in the middle section works very well to my eye though. I might have kept the studs-on-top construction throughout. -

An awful lot to like here! Great way to make a hexagon tower, I'm definitely going to have to try it sometime. Love the flag at the top and the minifig posing too. Sweet little slice of a castle here. -
Great textures all around here. Smart usage of the log bricks for the door!

This is a cool MOC adde51. The salmon color and the azure play off each other very nicely. I admit to mostly loathing the "dump Lego on the table" techniques for water and flooring and whatnot--however I also admit that the pile of leaf pieces off to the left and around the back looks really good.
