CDC2 CMF : Sympatik Brick [It's all about Power]
mrcp6d replied to Sympatik Brick's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice! The factions you created here fit perfectly into the lore of GoH. The desert orcs are my favorites! Welcome to the Guilds! -
Thanks Aurore! The djinn is one of my faves too, and I knew I absolutely had to get an enchanted pumpkin in the mix here. I found creating the "presentations" for the minifigures to both look good and be potentially a faster workflow overall the last time we had a CMF challenge. This time, I figured a typical white-ish background wasn't really going to work with the subject matter I had in mind either... Once the template is created (in GIMP for me), I can move pretty quickly and only type everything once for the back stories--just have to post the pictures! Thanks man! Thanks Robert8! That piece is not a hairpiece, it's an "energy effect" in the BrickLink scheme: Power Burst Blaster with Bar Handle. Thanks Servertijd!

CDC2 Ancient Wonders: the Moonbird Mausoleum (Chronicles of Embervale Ep.02)

So lovely! The curves in the structure aren't easy from the start, but you really blew us away with all of the ways you created the feathered effect in the bird! Epic work! -
Nice minifigs here! My favorites are the Paladin and the Fire Wizard, but like jtooker mentioned above, the Water-bearer is posed brilliantly for its presentation.
-
Thanks folks! Once I settled on the theme, I knew an enchanted pumpkin had to be done!

CDC2 Ancient Wonders : The Forgotten entrance of Kaligem

Oh, very excellent. Photography and editing for this is great, all the different parts used for details in the walls are great, the way the sand has flowed into the room through the door is great, and all of the furniture and whatnot you added really gives a sense of "work in progress" in the scene. -
Love that big Groot tree!
-
For me the Genie, Vampire Knight, Dark Elf Witch, Necromancer, Tzarina, Winged Hussar are the best ones of this excellent bunch, but the remainder are all strong designs as well!
-
A couple more excellent minifigures here socalbricks!

Nice work with these John, the Spice Merchant and the Extravagant Fop are my two favorites! Those necklaces are new parts for me, Friends pieces I guess?
-
Great entry! Magnus is lovely with the copper printing on the legs matching the torso, Yffreya is a nice evolution of the Eskimo minifig, and K'sirtllhisqr carries the blue accents very well. Sweet stuff.

CDC2 CMF : Aurore [Scholars & Spellcasters - and some Scammers too]

You certainly have a knack for minifigs! I love the theme, and the execution is just perfection. -
Oh, you did some great work with the poster edit! My thought process went exactly in the other direction, I thought about doing something like it, but then decided it would way easier to get all the figs lined up properly for one overview camera shot + edit than it would be to shoot individually, then edit individually, then edit all together. Sure does look nice though. My favorites are the Courtier and the Noble. The dragon technique I can't quite make out. Any chance for a breakdown?
-
Oh, these are good Henjin! Logh is perfect, and the rest are all pretty fantastic too. Great work for that "second place" you're shooting for!
-
Quite the sometimes morbid, sometimes funny, always memorable CMF series kahir88!
-
Best castle diorama I've seen in a while! I really like how the whole thing continuously gains height moving up the hill from the water to the tower in the back, and how you've sort of framed the whole thing with the buildings. The waterwheel design is particularly slick.
-
Woah, the tower is epic. The stonework in the bottom half is very unique and looks lovely. I'm always happy to see a Duplo shield incorporated into a MOC too!
-
Great series SK! I love the Warrior Wraith and the Master Swordsman. Mushroom Forager and Mercenary Commander are also strong combos.

CDC2 CMF jtooker | Hired Hands of Historica
mrcp6d replied to jtooker's topic in Guilds of Historica
Strong series jtooker. Nice to see the more mundane inhabitants of Historica, "civilians" are often some of the harder minifigs for me to put together! -
These are all great Ayrlego! The Dryad is definitely my favorite but the parts combos for the Shield Maiden, Cyclops Warrior, Assassin, and Mercenary Captain are fabulous too. I can't believe the excellent condition of the Classic Castle torso and shield or that you pulled the arms out of the torso and put new ones in! I'd be way concerned about cracking that 42 year old torso!
-
Pairing these off is kind of a fun idea, and you managed to make the individual minifigs different enough that they don't seem too repetitive. My favorites are Sofia (those cages are all fantastic too!), The Devourer, and Arken; the Motus are strong combos too.
-
Freaking awesome work on this MKJoshA! Imposing fortifications with some nice texture work (I particularly like your use of the 5-sided tiles throughout). Of course, both of those statues are fantastic, and you know I love seeing studs used intentionally as contrasting texture! Rockwork frames the structure well without going crazy. Great MOC!
-
This is generally a clinic of a CMF series as far as incorporating Star Wars and super hero parts into fantasy castle usage goes. I say generally because honestly all I get from the Nocty group is Star Wars--those helmets are simply too recognizable and sci-fi like for me. Ylspeth, Marilla, Gerard, Gerti, and Shriana are all really strong characters!
-
Beautiful MOC. Really, simply beautiful. I'm also going to have to steal that "slant the whole wall section" technique for some Egyptian/Adventurers builds to deal with the fact tan Slope 75 2 x 2 x 3 Double Convex parts are apparently more rare than Lego goats in the world!

I really, really like the architecture here. Smooth(er) arches contrasted with the textured walls underneath and behind them are lovely. The water is great here too!
