Question about Watto's Junkyard (the set)

Thank you so much! Yes, I definitely agree. And 90 bucks isn't too bad for a set that retailed at 50 bucks 15 years ago. None of those parts should be hard to bricklink, so yeah I think I'll pick one up. Then I'm going to MOC all the other Podracers I like that aren't part of those five *twitch*

Suggestion on first modular building to buy and build?

A lot of people are saying to go Grand Emporium because it's the oldest. I vote you do Grand Emporium for that, and it's my personal favorite as far as outside appearance.
  3. I'm really interested in picking this set up. I just found a cheap Mos Espa Podrace, and plan on getting this to finally have all the podracers (a childhood dream). Do you think it would be easier to bricklink this or find the set whole? I don't really mind if it's used. I know a lot of the common parts are easy to find, but I'm more worried about the specialty printed ones and figures like Watto himself. Also anyone with the set, can you confirm that both podracers can be built at the same time? From what I understand Beedo's racer is complete, but the other one needs to be built with the parts from his shop. Which is fine for me, I just want to make sure you don't have to take apart one podracer to build the other. Thanks in advance guys! I'm super excited. Owning these sets has practically been a life long dream.

    Bricklinking Modular Buildings

I looked through some of the pages on this thread, but just figured I'd ask directly. If I were to Bricklink, or use any method of obtaining individual bricks from scratch, which would be the easier one to start with. Cafe Corner or Green Grocer? And are there *rough* price estimates for these?

    2015 Mixels Discussion

Agreed, I can't see them not being more Infernites. TLG has plenty of lazy re-hashes, but I don't think they'd go so far as another fire tribe that's completely identical to the old one. Infernites ahve been the most popular that I've seen so far, I'll bet they are just capitalizing on that.

To me it just looks like an old cinema style 4. Like a countdown.

Good point. I didn't actually look at the source of the leak yet. I just woke up and saw all the boxart on reddit.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'm believing more and more that this 'Detective Bureau" is legitimate. However, I'm still curious whether it will be an official government type building, or a PI/Noir style one. I'm hoping for the latter, but I feel like Lego is going to go for the former. Edit: Random thought. With all the leaked photos of '15 sets, and the fact that there was no modular in there, can we safely assume that the new modular wont have a Jan1st release, and will probably be later?

    (WIP), My Corner Fire Brigade

That's a good idea! I was mostly working on the floors separately for now, so at the time I was just trying to make them symmetrical. I'm probably going to bricklink some parts for tweaking, so a finished product might be a while. I might actually move the garage door over to be under the other window instead. What do you think?

    (WIP), My Corner Fire Brigade

Hi again! Here to show my work in progress my modular 64x32 corner fire brigade. I tried to do something a little unique compared to other FB mods, and I don't see many corner mods. I'm going to rip apart a lot of it later to tweak some seams and get a sturdier design in some areas. I don't particularly like my bell tower, and will probably redesign the whole thing to make it....blockier. Sorry about the picture size. I'm riding the strugglebus today. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/CSIguy/FireBrigadeMod/091320141003.jpg

Hello! New to the site, got some questions about my town/MOC/MOD

Another question I have, for those who have the Cafe Corner. In the turntable design for the angled wall, how much 'wiggle' is there. I assume there is a little bit, but how tight of a design is it? Does it move a couple degrees, or does it turn like 10-20 degrees?

Thank you! That was very informative! I feel like I know such more. I've been playing with these since I was a little kid, but only in the past year or so did I discover the modular buildings, and then I became hooked. I eventually plan on a small town piece that's 5x5 baseplates

    Modular surf shop

This is honestly one of my favorite modulars I've seen. Good job. If you ever made instructions for it, I would not hesitate to make my own.
  15. Long time lurker, first time poster here. I got myself a fancy account and everything. So I finally got around to starting my own MOD, since I figured it was a good segue into making my own custom modular buildings. I'm working on a full on expansion to the Fire Brigade. I want it 64x32, with one end being a corner. I don't see too many 64x32 buildings on a corner, and I wanted to do something a little more unique than adding another floor or just extending the same design outwards like I see with many FB mods. The problem I'm coming too is angled walls. I would like a 45 degree wall on the corner, but nothing seems to be working out. Does anyone have any good recommended guides for angled walls, or maybe a technique in LDD they could show me? I'm truly stumped. I had a really good curved wall similar to what is shown in the Helm's Deep sets, but it didn't feel like it matched the FB motif. Finally, I would like some advice on roads. While I prefer brick built roads, I'd rather put my resources towards my buildings and just use road plates. The problem I come to it that if I use the sidewalk with the modulars plus the side walk on the roads it seems too wide, but if I build the modular on top of the side walk in the plate, the streets seem very narrow and tight. Any advice? Look forward to showing off my MOD once it's worthy of your guys' eyes. I admire the work I see here so much.
