Grendelego Posted April 6, 2015 (edited) Following the WIP here comes the final island with peoples on it Pirate Fort Island 04 Pirate Fort Island 01 Pirate Fort Island 02 Pirate Fort Island 03 The island is modular : cave, bar, weapon room and roof/beacon Pirate Fort Island 04 bis The beacon is here to lure innocent ship to the pirates lair, it have removable flags of course ;) I represent an bluecoat expedition to take the lair from the beach, with a commando team for the roof. Let’s have a look on the difference levels. The cave Pirate base 1 Pirate base 2 Pirate base 3 Pirate base 4 Has seen in the WIP, it’s a part I did earlier, using LDD to do some rocks and beaches test, then dit the thing with my stock in front of me. BURPs (hidden behind bottle and big chest) helped me to have a minimum high and keep plates together Pirate base 5 I hid a canon to destroy unwanted ships who wanted to dock. Bar Pirate 1st 1 I did all the level on LDD, with later changes to the bar, and add some lights Pirate 1st 6 Pirate 1st 4 We had a little live on this and we get a pirate crew unaware of current danger… Pirate 1st 3 Pirate 1st 5 Except the cook who’s hunting rats (for the stew? ;) ) Pirate 1st 2 Weapon room. Pirate 2nd 1 Pirate 2nd 2 It was the hardest level for me. I did all the exteriors on LDD, but was stuck for the inside (I wanted to do a common sleeping room). Then I get the idée of a passage for other rooms (not on the MOC) and the roof. Here the commando leader meet the first defense. Pirate 2nd 3 Pirate 2nd 4 Pirate 2nd 5 I had some fun on the furnitures, and did a more luxury color code, pirates need to spend there loot !! :) The roof Pirate roof 2 Pirate roof 1 Pirate roof 7 Pirate roof 6 I wanted to test a brickbuild door, but still need to improve, it’s a bit difficult to open. The beacon was fun to build, I took all my flamme pieces and look how they connect together ;) Pirate roof 5 Pirate roof 4 Pirate roof 3 A little view near my ships Pirate Fort Island Sorry for my english ;) Link to FLICKR's album Edited April 6, 2015 by Grendelego
Orange Leader Posted April 6, 2015 That's one sturdy looking pirate fort! I think the beacon and the foliage on the walls are a nice touch for the fort.
2maxwell Posted April 6, 2015 This looks really great with all the minifigures. Just brings out the details. The shape is very interesting, feels really organic.
Graham Gidman Posted April 6, 2015 I'm not too fond of the basic water, but that fort... Absolutely no complaints. Amazing work!
Dunedain Posted April 6, 2015 Very nice, looks cool, nice and solid. It is almost too "perfect" looking on the outside, at least for a Pirate hideout. Its almost like it was an Imperial Fort that was taken over by Pirates. Was this your idea when making this, that it was an Imperial fort taken by Pirates? Capt Wolf Posted April 6, 2015 Impressive fort! You've packed a lot of features and detail into it. I love that it's modular.
dr_spock Posted April 6, 2015 Cool. That's a good looking fort with lots of play possiblities. Well done. I think you have a bluecoat infestation on the island. Better call in the exterminators.
LittleJohn Posted April 7, 2015 Simply incredible! The interior and action are superb
Jreacher Posted April 7, 2015 The Interior is really awesome. But I agree with Dunedain, it looks like a former Imperial fort that the pirates captured. Its a heck of a nicer home then what my pirates get. My pirates only have rock island refuge... Yours have an awesome fort!
Matthias Posted April 7, 2015 very detailed. I like the colors you choosed. I hope the pirates will kill the blond haired soldier, he reminds me to a famous musician. All togehter: Your Moc is just great!
Captain Braunsfeld Posted April 7, 2015 Wow this is fantastic. Beautiful and completely in your own style. Great! I love all the details and will immediately scrap my island fortress (or maybe not). How long did it take to complete this masterpiece? Attacking monkey is noted !! +
Grendelego Posted April 7, 2015 I'm not too fond of the basic water, but that fort... Absolutely no complaints. Amazing work! I haven't touch the water part since I started the projet, except adding a some round 1X1. I also need to change the sand to some dark tan? Very nice, looks cool, nice and solid. It is almost too "perfect" looking on the outside, at least for a Pirate hideout. Its almost like it was an Imperial Fort that was taken over by Pirates. Was this your idea when making this, that it was an Imperial fort taken by Pirates? I've try some things in the building, but my skills lend me to that direction. I like your point of view of a take over fort ;) Wow this is fantastic. Beautiful and completely in your own style. Great! I love all the details and will immediately scrap my island fortress (or maybe not). How long did it take to complete this masterpiece? Attacking monkey is noted !! +1 I start the project ealry march with my LDD test. So the all project took me a big month. For now, it's my biggest project, and took me a lot of my stock :'(

Graham Gidman Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) I haven't touch the water part since I started the projet, except adding a some round 1X1. I also need to change the sand to some dark tan? Sorry for the late reply... You could, it might add a bit to the scene, but I don't think it is necessary. Edited April 15, 2015 by Graham Gidman

Guybrick Posted April 16, 2015 Very nice! I really like the modular style, because of the playability. So, when is it available as an official set?

Captain Dee Posted April 19, 2015 I certainly wasn't expecting this when I viewed the WIP thread. It looked good then but in completed form it's fabulous. The size, shape, architecture and colors are all unique which makes for a memorable design. You've crammed a lot of detail into a relatively small footprint. I especially like the top section with all its various components. The water seems pretty basic but that's fine; standard SNOT water is overrated anyway and in this form you could set it up with standard sets and the water at least would match. The cook surprised me; I never would have thought to use him for a pirates build. Maybe he was pressed into service, or maybe the pirates stole the outfit from a victim who didn't live to tell about it. Very good project overall.
