WesternOutlaw Posted March 2, 2008 I was just checking out the Brickmaster item on Lego SAH US, and noticed that there's no mention of the exclusive set. I could have sworn I saw it this morning after checking out the link provided? I wonder if it's still available.
jp-30 Posted March 2, 2008 I think I might buy the jungle tank and use the green corner pieces (if it has any)that way I'll have the tank and the car. Looks like the parts you will need in dark green will be available in the Indy River Chase set (though you'll possibly need 3 sets to get the six 1x1 corner pieces). Of course people will be buying these for the figures and selling off the parts on bricklink, so it should be able to be reproduced pretty accurately. The windshield's pretty scarce too in both smokey-trans and trans - just 7 sets listed, and most are pretty expensive. Oh, and the dark green 2x2 tiles may also be a problem. LegoFranks Posted March 2, 2008 One thing that baffles me, is how does Indy steer the jeep? With his mind? With his whip?! M.
Brickmaster Posted March 2, 2008 Screw you, Brickmaster! :-D This could be taken badly on my part! :-P Luckily I have a sense of humor on my side X-D Great recreation, I'll be whipping mine up soon aswell. :-$
jp-30 Posted March 2, 2008 One thing that baffles me, is how does Indy steer the jeep? With his mind? With his whip?!M. That's the good thing about LEGO. It's not too hard to add a steering wheel to the set if you have a spare!
xwingyoda Posted March 2, 2008 Screw you, Brickmaster! That sums up perfectly what we all (nearly all) think :-D And tks for the pics of your Jeep, its some nice reverse engeneering there hehe And judging forom the rarity of the parts needed, I'm not even sure its worth the effort of making one |-/ Now we can only hope for TLC to understand they need to release that set normally because it ould be a huge seller !! *yoda*
xenologer Posted March 2, 2008 Well, I did what I could in LDD: Limited parts and whatnot. Seems the parts cost about 8$USD or so. Expensive little set. I thought the tyres look strangely tiny, so I experimentally made a second version using more standard big tyres. I don't think you'll want to be buying either from LDD tho, since the nice corner panel pieces are not available... as you can see i just used the little 1*1 slopes at the wheel wells instead. Plus the colors are fairly boring. Fun to build at least, Might have to resuse the mudguard technique in other Town sized cars...
LegoLyons Posted March 2, 2008 Screw you, Brickmaster! Here's my attempt... Nice work. Better than the "real" thing. How about some instructions. ;-)
Bobskink Posted March 2, 2008 this blows (again), why not an european exclusive (again)... (nothing more to say)
PaulC Posted March 2, 2008 Nice work Gylman, JP-30 and Xenologer. I like the modifications you made Xenologer, especially the front windscreen and the new wheels. The wheels really improve the look of the vehicle. I love reverse engineering Lego sets. Here's my attempt: The wheels and axles are from 7731 Post Van. The finished Jeep. It will be interesting to see who's got closest to the actual design!
ExoBuilder Posted March 2, 2008 Awesome instructions PaulC! You made them very clear *y* Those wheels are also available in the Batcopter set. Hey Paul, you ever going to answer my PM? :-D *sweet* *y*
jp-30 Posted March 2, 2008 How about some instructions. ;-) You should be able to figure it out from the 5 or 6 disassembled shots I posted (plus the other similar attempts that have been posted). PaulC, I really like the back of yours (which is all educated guesswork), I think that's closer to what LEGO will have done.
xenologer Posted March 2, 2008 Nice one PaulC I really like the yellow, makes me think of a Meyers Manx beach buggy. Where?? did you get all those nice yellow panels? And I think you hit the nail right on the head with those axles, brings the wheels up closer to the body (problem mine had). Wouldn't be surprised if yours is Exactly the same as the real model. WhiteFang Posted March 3, 2008 WOW! :-D Thanks for the wonderful alternative! That is one cool jeep, however, in Singapore, LEGO is not selling the postal van -.- and i am not a subscriber of brickmaster too :'-(
PaulC Posted March 3, 2008 Awesome instructions PaulC!You made them very clear *y* Those wheels are also available in the Batcopter set. Hey Paul, you ever going to answer my PM? :-D *sweet* *y* Patience, Grasshopper. I'm a very busy man! X-D Nice one PaulCI really like the yellow, makes me think of a Meyers Manx beach buggy. Where?? did you get all those nice yellow panels? Most of those yellow panels come from 8147 Bullet Run which uses an identical method to make the wheel arches on one of the racers. Dadster Posted March 3, 2008 Not sure how new the news is, but I rec'd my Lego Mag today. In the back, there is a spot concerning the Brickmaster Club... July/ August will of course be the Indy Green Jeep. Sept/ Oct states that it will be a Bionicleset (no pic). Nov/ Dec will be a Star Wars set (no pic). Jan/ Feb is unknown at this point... Still excited about that Jeep set, but now I'm betting we get some Clone Wars set come the end of the year!

Piranha Posted March 25, 2008 Missed this thread! That is the best BM promo ever! *wub* The little dark green jeep is sweet! As soon as I saw this and heard about the SW exclusive I ordered a BM subscription immediately! :-D Can't wait to get one! Jeep On!
Dadster Posted March 26, 2008 I saw a guy with a BM Fireman vehicle up on Ebay. He said he got it recently... This is my first year doing the BM stuff - I got the "Welcome Kit" in March. Anyone else gotten anything yet? Can we expect them at the same time each time (end of the month vs mid of month, etc)? Thanks!
AFOL SF Posted March 26, 2008 How much do you think this mini set will cost in the secondary market?
Dadster Posted March 26, 2008 How much do you think this mini set will cost in the secondary market? If you're referring to the Indy Jeep...I'm guessing it could go as high as $20 based on the popularity and rarity. The Fireman set went up to $12.39 (?) last week. And those poor Europeans...
