  1. For this MOC (my second attempt at this subject!) I have taken 2023 Harry Potter set 76423 - Hogwarts Express and Hogsmeade Station - and modified the steam engine portion of the set quite a bit. I stretched the model out a bit into a 4-6-2, specifically Gordon from the Thomas and Friends TV show / The Railway Series books. In fact, I changed so much of 76423, that there isn't much of the original engine left! The four passenger cars are in the style of 2009 set 10194 - Emerald Night, but are four studs shorter and in the colors of the 2026 CITY set 60511 - Vintage Train. Each car has a removable roof and inside seating. The car closest to the camera is a brake coach inspired by this Rebrickable MOC. Gordon in both books and TV show is based on the London and North Eastern Railway A1 steam locomotive class. The last real world survivor of the A1 / A3 type in the real world is Flying Scotsman (LNER loco Nr. 4472) which is Gordon's brother in both written and visual media. The rear of the loco. The tender is my own design, and uses a sliding center wheel to keep it from binding. These are three identical express coaches. All the doors of this train open, and the middle roof sections come off for access to the inside details. Here is the brake coach, where passenger's baggage is stored and the guard has a bit of space to rest and keep an eye on the train's progress. The three coaches have identical insides, and the brake coach is mostly the same, up to the halfway point where the luggage area and guard's seat are. Thoughts?
  2. Well, it's that time of year again and with the new 60508 Police Train Heist just leaked, I suppose it's time to start this thread. Here's the usual list of recent years' sets - 2019-2021 have been removed as all sets from these years have now been retired. Discuss below, and as usual @JopieK maybe pin the thread?
  3. Hi guys ! I think that, I think that we were all pretty happy when we saw that Lego was releasing a new steam train. The new 60511 set is pretty cute but it lacks some realism. It is designed as a tender engine but the locomotive looks more like a tank engine with its big sidings. So I told myself, why not trying to make it a tender engine. The problem it raises is that it is then hard to motorize it with powered up if you keep the original 060 configuration. This is why I went with an 044, making it possible to integrate the train motor at the back. Link to the instructions : https://reb.li/m/265748 Here it is with some 6 studs wide teak coaches that I am currently designing. This is it ! I did not buy the set yet, I am waiting for some discounts but I will definitly build this when I get it. I will be pleased to share more media with you then. Let me know what you think about it !
