Remember to support your axles from both ends
dr_spock replied to legoman666's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Wow, looks like one of my Great Ball Contraption modules after a day of running at an event. Think of it as "diesel soot". -

Now that's a practical creation.

Great review. I received this set in a gift exchange last year. I enjoyed the pooping action which makes it more real life. I made slight MOD to hold the fly up. Day 004 of 365: Rainforest Animals by dr_spock_888, on Flickr

You're welcome. A second motor will give it better High Speed.

I think it is worth the 3rd car for the long train. The easy thing might be to strip the nose pieces off the end cars of the 2nd set and then add the pieces to make the side and roof and diaphram. You'll need at least 2 magnetic couplers. Also some pieces for the undercarriage. You also have option to turn them into dinner car or baggage/coach car, etc.

A process could be buy up not so abundant but inexpensive parts you plan to be in your instructions beforehand. After releasing the instructions, open a BrickLink store to sell the scarce parts. Use the income earned to fund the next big project.

Thanks for the review.. The Utility Shuttle looks like it might have been based off the U.S. Air Force X-37B

Awesome family collaborative build. There is so much to see and do. The monorail ride is a nice touch for the mono fans.

PF switch is too stiff
dr_spock replied to AVCampos's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You could make a motorized mechanism to rock the switch back and forth to loosen it up if you don't want to spend an hour watching tribbles. Also do those rubber bands cause additional resistance to moving? -

Friends Minidolls hairpieces on "regular" Minfigures
dr_spock replied to Hoschiebaer's topic in LEGO Town
Shape of the face. Friends faces are long while minifig's are roundish. Some hair styles work better for round faces while others don't. -
Reformatted my camera's memory card.

A couple CMFs.

Containers can ride on any trains. It doesn't have to be the Maersk and the expensive Maersk blue parts. You can do CSX, BNSF, NS CN, CP. European or Asian railways. There are many possibilities with international shipping.

Must be a kids thing. Mine liked crashing spaceships and airplanes too. And then rebuilt them...

My Red #3 connector hunt....
dr_spock replied to Richard Dower's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
You need to have at least 100 posts before you can post in the bazaar. It's in the FAQs -> http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=71241 -
Very nice work. The shape of the prototype lends itself well to LEGO form.

Crashing trains into things is fun. I think there is an audience for train wrecks. The train kind and the people celebrity kind too.
