You could use the PF train motors if that is all you have. Really depends on what you're trying to move with it. You can use the train IR speed control and IR receiver to control the speed of the train motor. If you need more torque or speed, you can make a gear down or gear up drive train. Works with tires too.

dr_spock replied to legotrainfan's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Cool. Where did you order from? LEGO Shop@Home seems to be out of stock in North America. -

You could go the other direction and create MOCs based on what pieces you currently have on hand. It can be an interesting challenge and no shipping charges.

Both the AAA and rechargeable battery and M-motors are out of stock in North America. I wonder if the people looking to motorize their Avenger's Helicarrier and/or the Ferris Wheel are the cause. Good thing I ordered a bunch of them back during double VIP points.

OP has many options for the cars as demonstrated. Only limited by imagination and depth of wallet. LOL, great minds think alike. I bought the Harry Potter Knight Bus just for the train windows and the LEGO Store grand opening minifigure set.

New Set 60097: Tram 9V motorized (Town Square)
dr_spock replied to Zusammengebaut's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Nice videos and purple thumb bandage in your other video. How did you get the Town Square set so soon? Looks like there is room for the PF train motor, IR receiver and battery box. You'll probably lose the seating arrangement in at least one of the cars. -
Welcome to Eurobricks. Cranes are great.

Some Plasser & Theurer MOW equipment would be cool. They sell equipment pretty much on the majority of continents.

A deep discount like in the back in the old days would move remaining stock and make space for new incoming sets in the warehouses and stores.

Why is LEGO now being made in China?
dr_spock replied to 9v system's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It can be done but you have to proactively provide oversight and perform due diligence when you outsource work. Sometimes you have to send your own staff overseas to ensure quality and IP protection and have clauses in the contract for financial penalties. It can be a pain in the butt if you're the person responsible to manage the contract/contractors from afar but cost savings can help up your stock share price and senior exec pay. -
