  1. Very nice. Do you have a video of it running?
  2. If you look at the different containers, they separated the bags of bricks from the boxes. I suppose the box cardboard would be recycled. The bricks would be re-purposed.
  3. My cracked LBG 2x4 also came from the PAB Wall. That's a nice vignette using cracked bricks. I haven't had other color 1x4 tiles cracked on me either.
  4. Interesting, I wonder how they process the returns. Does it say which country that is in?
  5. You could lend them to me and I will return them in 15 years time. Are you going to have seller's regret?
  6. I think the another way that we could see a steam train is a movie that has a steam train and LEGO is licensed to merchandise for like they did with Lone Ranger movie.
  7. Great job. HO nickel silver rail shouldn't be hard to bend as model railroaders use them to hand laid tracks. I've seen them used in hand made switches too.
  8. Run power from the battery to the IR receiver. From IR receiver connect one motor and the PF switch. Connect the 2nd motor to the PF Switch. Set the PF Switch so that both motors run in the same direction. Two Sbricks is 76 euros not including taxes, duty and shipping. If you factor in the taxes, duties, shipping and exchange rate to Canada, it could come out to one 60051 passenger train set.

  10. Nice work. Do the subs have capability to rescue each other in case of emergency?
  11. Subway sushi, anyone? I guess those Atlantis Shark Warriors never learned about food poisoning. Day 361 of 365: Deep Sea Fishing by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  12. With the brick separators or fingers, where you apply force can have an impact on cracking bricks. I cracked a 1x4 tile when I tried to pry it off a base plate from the narrow end. The end that cracked was butt up against another tile. There was no place for the end of the tile to go and it snapped when lifted passed a certain point. You basically have to pry around some times to avoid damage. I also cracked a 1x4 brick when trying to separating them between two brick separators. I didn't put the bottom separator in the re-enforced center part of the brick and it cracked a piece off the side of the brick.
  13. They could change the criteria of 10K votes. Depending on the economics, may be they don't need 10K votes if people already put money down. It could be treated like a condominium project that starts building construction after so many people put in their deposits. I guess kind of but with better odds you get your product or your money back.
  14. That pitch noise when the speed setting is clicked to 1 is normal. The Power Function system uses PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) for motor speed control. Are the fresh batteries from the same brand and/or batch of batteries? Try running the locomotive with the wheels in the air and see if it performs the same?
  15. You can also try to put more weight on top of the current motor and see if that helps before going through the complication of adding a second motor. You can reduce some drag on the HE train by replacing the bogie with the technic axle wheels on the unpowered locomotive with ones that have more free rolling train wheels. If you convert the two coupler bogies to a jacob bogie. It'll give you two free rolling train wheels to make the free rolling bogie for the second locomotive.
  16. Darth Vader orders up some Xmas dinner for Sarlacc. Is it best served with white or red wine? Day 360 of 365: Christmas Dinner by dr_spock_888, on Flickr
  17. What kind of AAA batteries are you using? Alkalines? I had pretty good run time with rechargeable NiMh AAA in the battery box at public outdoor running of trains. Have you checked that all cars are rolling freely by hand?
  18. You may be having a case of Analysis Paralysis. Get a friend to help.
  19. Think of it like solving a Rubic's Cube problem. You can do it within the rules of the game by turning the sides until you arrive at the solution. You can go outside of the rules of the game by printing or buying color stickers and putting them on as a solution. You can go more destructive by peeling the stickers off the cube to get to a solution. Depending on the circumstances, you're free to do whatever to your cube. If it is a competition, how do you feel about your competitor not playing by the game rules and winning? Yup, I've used LEGO bricks to fix my car. Not really it's intended toy purpose. The 2x2 bricks worked great to replace the broken rusted clips holding up the splash cover.

  23. Legally LEGO does not endorse, authorize or sponsor Sbrick. If LEGO sponsors the prizes or contest, chances are good that 3rd party and cutting and modifying parts will not be allowed. Genuine LEGO only. Plan your entry creation accordingly to any limitations. It is ok to toss a Sbrick into your MOC if you need the extra amperage and bluetooth. It's your MOC, do what you want. If you have the skills and tight on funds, you can make your own bluetooth PF motor controler for much less than the price of Sbrick.
  24. I think another way to gauge buying demand on an Idea is to charge the voters a deposit to vote. Make it like buying a car or house whether the deposit is a commitment to buy and reserve a copy. The size of the deposit can be relative to the size of the project. Deposit can be returned if Idea deal falls through.
