Technic Photography
dr_spock replied to Werlu Ulcur's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice chromed build. Regarding photography, I am finding the red car and grille in the background are drawing my eyes and attention away from the truck. -

Looks good. Have you tried putting the new tires on the Unimog and Volvo loader and photographed? -
Congrats to the winners and thanks to the participants for taking part. I like how the DB Awards are crayon color coded to each factions' main colors.

Trying something new and different is risky business. Safer to stick with what worked before. investment money-wise.

dr_spock replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
There are several topics in General forum and Minifgure Customization forum on how to remove print. Removing print with Brasso seems to work well for most people. -
Very nice and spacious guest room. Motels are little too far into the future for the BoBS era. The automobile hasn't been invented yet. Maybe coaching inn.

There is usually a double VIP points month some time in the fall, at least for North America. -

The Parts Draft Topic (ideas and rules discussion)
dr_spock replied to Vedauwoo's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
We sometimes have one person buy the draft sets and participants pay him/her to be in the draft. -
I added a motor to the HOG steering. I have since reused the steering m-motor in a GBC module.

I find this to be handy for reading TechLUG: or Google Translate. -
Color Coding
dr_spock replied to Richard Dower's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I think the new color coding can be helpful for the older builders. When you reach a certain age, your eyes can have a tough time distinguishing black, DBG, LBG, etc. -
Yahoo, (and therefore Flickr), To Be Sold To Verizon
dr_spock replied to BrickCurve's topic in Community
Remains to be seen if the deal is approved by the regulators and what changes Verizon will make or not make. This topic probably belongs in Community. -
Is LEGO promoting non-purist thinking?
dr_spock replied to SevenStuds's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't think LEGO has too many 100% LEGO rules other than entries in their contests, MOCs for LEGO Store community windows and some marketing projects. -

That's pretty quick delivery. Now the important question: Does it work as a GBC module? -
[COR-Jul FB1] The House of ill repute, Charlatan Bay
dr_spock replied to Brickwolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Haha. Very "artistic" artisan build. Maybe it should be under Art and Culture. It's like going to the ballet. -
It appears that the train arrived really early at the station. CITY trains seem to be on a 3+1 years cycle. So next two sets should be in 2018 and one in 2019.

It appears to be a system from RC Trains -> http://rctrains.co.uk/index.htm Nice, how do you connect the LEGO motor to the control board? Do you cut off the PF connector and solder wires directly?

Very nice. How did you get your 13L half width Technic liftarm beams? I 3D printed some for my PRR FF1 and they don't look as good.
