Nice little street side business build. The mould could be useful for making blue cheese in the barrels. Wine and cheese.

Welcome aboard, WinXP. Not bad. Nice ATSF colours and lettering. With 6 wheel trucks (bogies), the locomotive is a SD9. EMD use the GP designation for their locomotives with 4 wheel trucks.

Welcome aboard, Ryan. Happy holidays and may the Force be with you.

It could done mechanically with a ratchet system like in a socket wrench. To go forward, the horse wheels would only be allowed to roll forward and not backwards. The horse would spread its front and back legs apart and pull them back together and repeat the cycle. Basically push in the back and pull in the front. At the same time it would be pulling the wagon along.

Would you be able license the use of the Power Functions protocol from LEGO for your commerical venture?

60051 has the battery box over the train motor so that should help. The long nose could move the center of gravity forward away from the train motor area. Try adding some more weight at the rear of the motor car and see if it helps. Check that the tires on the train motor aren't covered with dust and dirt. Gunk can reduce grip. Cleaning may help too. Check that the other cars can roll freely without much effort.

Welcome to Eurobricks. Clever way to fit 2 in the cockpit.

TRON Light Cycle
dr_spock replied to Sariel's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice. I like the effect. Has it been 34 years since TRON was released? -
Thanks for sharing. I don't know if the book was available in Canada. I was in the dark back then. But I see some GBC module ideas could have came from this book.

LOL. Now I want to make one. Those Brits sure have a thing for the Pacer rail car ride qualities.

Santa needs help
dr_spock replied to Luvalot's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That depends if he only want to follow instructions for GBC, then buy only the parts needed to build as per the instructions. If he wants to experiment and make his own GBC modules, then certainly buy motors and sets with lots of gears, threads and parts useful for making balls move around. You can order Power Function motors from shop.lego.com. He may need some speed control using the discontinued 9V train speed controller which can be found on Bricklink. Alternatively, the Power Functions Infrared Receiver and PF train speed controller can also be used to regulate speed. More challenging fun would be to use the correct combination of gears to get to the speed and torque required for his GBC design to operate. -
Cool. Very neat board layout. You used an ATmega168 microcontroller. Is it less expensive than an ATmega328?

The position and future of Friends and minidolls in Lego?
dr_spock replied to Dorayaki's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You can film them from the waist up as they are moving across the scene. It's one of the techniques used in the Muppet Show or Sesame Street. Let the viewer's mind fill in the blank that their legs are moving. You also would some work and time on having to stop motion film moving legs. In the case of muppets, how to hide the operator's arm stuck up their butts. -

42055 from Costco can make a good GBC starter. It can be turned into a GBC or provide parts to make other GBCs. It doesn't come with 14mm sized balls though. -
Season's Greetings. I started a little project at the beginning of December to see if train wheels make it better like the way bacon makes things better. It's a daily photo project of my MOCs and MODs spiced up with train wheels. I made it past one week milestone so I think the track is cleared to post up the first week's work. I plan to keep chugging along until Christmas assuming I don't run out of steam.
