  1. I actually forgot to put it in the train, but it could as well be hidden near the driver of the train :D
  2. Hello, For a train challenge on another forum I made a cross-over between the Knight Bus from Harry Potter and an English train. For some time I had the idea of making a purple train for re-using the large amount of purple train windows from the Knight Bus sets, this was a good opportunity. For that I chose an English train, the engine is based on a Brush BR60 (British Rail Class 60). On https://en.wikipedia...h_Rail_Class_60 you'll find a few pictures; the 60024 et 60054 were used as basis for the front. The passenger cars are derived from the Metroliner sets. See https://antp.be/lego/moc/knight-train.php for a few more details/images
  3. Nicely done, it looks good
  4. There was some promotional sets in that style (Toys'r'us ? or another store like that)
  5. There was a whole thread on that subject: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=78740&st=0 (and I see that someone posted in it just today, before that it had fallen in the old threads)
  6. Another possibility is that they needed these for one of the parks or for a certified professional, so they took a few parts of that batch for this set ?
  7. There were 1x4 lbg bricks with studs on side. 6x3 lbg "wings" (triangle plates) left & right Slopes or small plates : most likely not, or else I would have taken a few (there were black 2x2 plates and black 2x4 slopes though). Some time ago there were dbg bricks, not sure they still had them. Sometimes they have other parts available in the back. Each time I think "I'll take a photo of the bins for the inventory", each time I forget
  8. "All go to one place. All are from the bricks, and to bricks all return." (Ecclegosiastes 3:20)
  9. I found that this one was very well done: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=90594 (Modular Asian Restaurant, for the Modular Madness contest some time ago)
  10. Indeed, usually if it is more or less closed they simply add tape. Though that I try to not fill too much the cup, most of the time it can't fully click and stay closed.
  11. I find funny that Lightningtiger is supporting & commenting all these bad projects (probably the good ones too), like he is commenting on all the threads here on the forum... some need to leave a comment everywhere about everything ?
  12. From Lille (France) store: I only filled a small cup, as there weren't many new interesting parts. I'm still hoping to get sand green some day like what lucky newyorkers got :D
  13. The flags set reminds me http://brickset.com/sets/6316-1/Flags-and-Fences I got as kid :) They previously made sets of flags, cf http://brickset.com/sets?query=flags if you check those from the 70s & before. Unfortunately not many pictures on Brickset, but here is a photo showing these:
  14. Such bricks are probably rather expensive on pick-a-brick (as bigger parts tend to be more expensive there). However there must be sellers on bricklink with good prices.
  15. Sure, but originally rather about ideas that are so bad that you can't really do anything else than laugh or wonder why they're there... Not just the average "not very good" idea.
  16. The fist pic seen is the one on the description tab; I was just giving a hint to make the project more appealing ;) (or maybe they prevent from updating the description tab contents?)
  17. What kind of things? Going post into threads without reading the related info to know what people talk about? And giving a negative comment about that? Isn't that time spent on negativism?
  18. indeed, nice use of the arch/fender part, what is on Ideas could work as a set. It may be worth adding real photos of the vehicles there (at least the photo posted here at the top of the page: it looks better than the LDD renderings)
  19. It is more a concept than a precise scale. It just means it goes well with the minifig. A 4-stud-wide stuck from the 80s or a recent 8-stud-wide truck are both minifig-scale despite being at a different scale.
  20. As long as the vehicle is better than the one coming with the Palace Cinema...
  21. I find that "pay per use" concept interesting to take in account. Indeed there are probably some sets bought for parts that were more interesting than others in that way, because their parts came handy. In the same way, the pick-a-brick cups give a nice ppp for large amount of identical parts, but until you find a way to use them they are just a waste of space and money
  22. I filled a small cup of bricks in Manchester store, as I was passing by there: Small bricks wall, but there were still some parts I didn't encounter before. I forgot I already got orange tiles last time though, it was not useful to take more :D That makes this one my sixth Lego Store visited (after Lille, Levallois, Lyon, Wijnegem and Köln)
  23. Yes, I think it is just old blue that slightly changed I found one case like that when trying to identify another strange shade of blue: http://www.eurobrick...25#entry1552517 the 6th brick on the first pic (2nd on the second pic) seems to be the same shade as those you posted
  24. Indeed it is rather a question of time and attention required when building, but I suppose that's what they call "difficulty"; i.e. is the target 6+, 12+ or 16+ for example. For a non-AFOL adult I suppose it is less a problem then, if they buy a big set of thousands of parts they expect probably a long build time, like when assembling a large jigsaw puzzle.
  25. Seeing the low price per part of that set, wouldn't it be more interesting to buy extra sets? (except if you can get parts for very cheap, e.g. via a LUG)
