  1. Indeed. Or at least trains without tracks: I have 12V tracks so if I buy a modern train I'd rather use RV trains on my old tracks than on the new ones. Or just put the wagons on a 12V-powered train. I'd like to have a nice passenger train but I do not wish to buy a full set with rails, engine, etc. I just need the parts of the wagons :D For that something like the hobby train sold few years ago on lego.com was good, but still expensive if you wanted to make several wagons of the same style.
  2. To answer Scorion's last question: it is Gaborone About small sets, I agree: when I was kid I remember I got sometimes a "big" set at 25$ (e.g. at birthday) but usually it was smaller sets around 10-20$, often vehicles. To take the example of bus+tram+truck, being kid I would have loved these (especially the bus), but could get them more easily separately.
  3. I never had problems with these hinge, but I understand what you mean as I feel the same with 4275/4276 : (and I already have one or two of these broken)
  4. And for the fun, a reduced version that I just made, even if it is a little off-topic here I guess: edit: fixed link for new pic location
  5. Hi, I got a 5550 when I was kid, I always liked that model, I found it fun to play with, destroy, rebuild, etc. After my dark age, I found another one on Ebay for cheap. As I had parts for that, I modified the colors, replacing yellow/black by blue/red. Then I found another one, so when you have two, why not three? It got green parts. I bought parts on bricklink for that, making a blue/darkgrey and a green/red. Recently I eventually found a fourth one, making it red/darkgrey, with orange replacing darkgrey on the blue one. The 5581 "Magic Flash" seems harder to find, I only got one. My original 5550 is actually the blue one, the one in original colors is the third one that I got and that I kept as it is, since it was in nearly mint state (unlike mine, since I played a lot with it : ) I have to order parts, I am missing 1x1 orange plates (I used round ones) and I cheated for some green parts. I do not know yet which color selection I'll do for the next one, not all parts exist in all colors (I'd like rare colors like purple etc.) Maybe I should try to replace the white by something else too... edit: fixed link for new pic location
  6. There was also a Danone van with printed bricks which was quite expensive too (maybe not as much, though)
  7. I like tiles, especially 2x2, I do not know why :D Maybe because these were not so common in 80s sets. Probably for the same reason, I really like green parts too. So I really like the few green tiles that I have
  8. My storage looks similar to DarkKnight's Plates, small bricks and rare colors are sorted in these: In the transparent boxes on the right there are more special parts, accessories, small windows, technics, etc. Base plates, large amounts of bricks, doors & larges windows, slopes, wheels and minifigs are stored there: All train-related stuff is stored in a separate box (rails, train bases, etc.) Primary sort criteria is color (previously it was part shape), that makes things much easier for MOCs, I find. Previously I had all the parts in various tool boxes, but having to take all of them out of the closet each time was annoying. Here most of the parts are directly accessible at the desk, for building.
  9. Thanks ;) I'll add these then, and continue to try to get pictures from other.
  10. Description appears when you move the mouse over the video while playing. But from what I understand it seems to be virtual (CGI) bricks indeed... Fake MB, Fake fake Lego bricks then :D
  11. Hi, I hope that this message will not look too much like spam... It is long time I planned to register (after someone posted a link to one of my MOC: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=12480) but because I haven't build much since then, I did not had much to post on this forum either. Recently (3 weeks ago) I started a small site to put somewhere the few Lego scenes I saw in movies. I asked to other people to help (in a Lego topic on a general French forum, and on the forum of a movie-related site that I manage). Then someone gave me the link to this topic. Some of the movies that I found myself were already here, some were not. But you also have many that I did not know. But I planned to only list movies of which I have pictures (and search pictures of others). So I post here to ask: can I can use the few pics in the first page on my site? Giving credits to the one who provided the pictures, of course. I also plan to add a link to this topic, for other movies listed without pictures. The current URL of the site is http://lego.imcdb.org (until I find a good domain name idea).
