How long do you keep mocs or sets together?
antp replied to Aventador2004's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I usually do not keep my MOCs, to be able to re-use the parts (and also maybe because they are not so exceptional), so I dismantle them a few days/weeks after I made photos. One exception is the Renault 17 I made for a contest here, because I like it a lot even if it did not get many votes, and it does not "block" too many rare/needed parts. The other exception is the replica of my apartment, in display in a transparent coffee table, but that one will soon be dismantled because I'm moving to another apartment (so a new MOC of that will have to be made). I have however many sets bought for display (modular buildings and a few other big ones) and a few city vehicles that I keep (sometimes modified). -
not sure they have to pay for such license, it is linked to US government, it is not a private company

nice, it looks good, i like the old ad on the side wall the thing that should be improved however is the parts of the roof with the slopes : it would be better with several windows across the width (instead of a door - why? - and a rounded window on the edges)

And the reason for these non-official color names is that Lego wasn't publishing their "internal" names back then, so people had to "create" names for the colors.

indeed, and from the requesting side they tend to send these request in mass for many sites without much check in what they ask. For example Google often receive requests for removing from their index pages of the IMDb website!

They often released brick-made animals in the Creator line

A small box like that old one for 9V battery would indeed be welcome for things that do need much power (lights, small motors for accessories, etc.) However one for a single AAA battery would not: AA & AAA are 1.5V, hence why you need to put 6 of them in a box ;)

Why is the HE not as liked as the other creator expert trains
antp replied to Legoboy22's topic in LEGO Train Tech
The Horizon Express is probably my favorite (though that the Maresk is close second) but I like the original TGV since I am kid, that helps. -
Wasn't the Cuusoo/Ideas Minecraft original proposal very basic? For some projects it is more the idea than how it is made

I fully agree, I miss the sand red :( It was a good color for grounds/bricks/roofs
-
That produces a lot of dust, no?

I don't think it is possible; there would be no clutch power on these. The round corner 1x1 is already a little weak for that. or worse, Jack Stone series :D

Here is a small scene of a computer test lab made for posting on the forum of hardware.fr, featuring many decorated tiles from my stock.

Seen last year in a store selling paint, materials, etc., cf the color 11: ("jaune" = "yellow" in French) For my future Lego room I was thinking light blue, so walls can act as a sky for the Lego city :D

I use a duplo brick as soap holder :D (the hollowed studs are good to avoid the soap to lay in a small puddle)

While wanting to buy from B&P a second pair of bright light blue minifig pants, I discover that the part was actually not in any set. I got this fig from a "build a minifig" station in a Lego Store: The hair is obviously from the Lego Movie figs, the torso from the ice skater collectable fig, As these legs existed in printed version for Lego Movie figs, I guess that's their origin, they must have had an unprinted extra remaining stock they got rid via the Stores.

Yes, it has been mentioned, you can find pics here: http://bricks.inmovi.es/movie_212671_Malcolm-in-the-Middle.html There were also Bionicle sets seen in later episodes

Misprints and Other LEGO Production Oddities

Indeed, that's actually nice :) -
As transparent colors are another kind of plastic, that may also for testing purpose (either test the mold or test how the part behalves)

I like how you made the door & windows; with that new ornamental fence part these look great

Nice idea!
