  1. I didn't know it existed, sad that they don't make it any more, as it looks better than the other solutions used in official sets for the camera lenses
  2. Another update ; this time I added the building across the street, which is somewhat related because it was made the year before by the same company. The building is much more simple, square, so it is actually more difficult to make it looking good as microscale (less identifiable) Actual building:
  3. The Lego logo at the bottom is just for parts that do not have studs (or have hollow studs), I suppose
  4. For 13548, as it is a current production part (in a 2017 set), you could buy it from Lego's Bricks & Pieces service (same page as when requesting missing/broken parts, but there is also an option "Buy parts") For recent uncommon parts it is often cheaper and easier than Bricklink. edit: forget it, this particular part is listed as not available :/ ... maybe it will be come available later
  5. It was not an exact copy. It has the same style, they copied the whole design, but even on a photo you directly see it is not the same (and each part is probably a little different). But indeed saying they did not copy was still hypocrite.
  6. The awful figs are from knock-off that make models with similar bricks as Lego but not really copies of sets : by doing different sets and different figs they avoid legal problem. The good copies are, unfortunately, good
  7. From the 2 & 3 fingers hinges from the 80s-90s, which they sadly abandonned http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=2433#T=C
  8. Supposed to be blocked windows, I guess. In Europe long time ago (1700s/1800s) they invented a tax for buildings, based on the number of windows. So sometimes useless windows were replaced by bricks. cf https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Window_tax for more info
  9. Some nice new & interesting parts in these models
  10. Not so many, compared to the very large mount of people who probably simply did not report that all was ok for theirs ;) (problems are often emphasized in forums) I do not know if it is bad luck or if happens more often than before, but in the last half year I had twice a part replaced by another, which never happened to me before in hundreds of sets (nor did any missing part occur).
  11. The Cafe Corner instructions included a picture of an alternate model: http://images.brickset.com/sets/AdditionalImages/10182-1/10182-0000-xx-33-3.jpg But no instructions for it. I think that people retro-engineered that to rebuild it, I suppose there are instructions available somewhere or at least a virtual LDD model as lxf file.
  12. 8 9 10 11 19 Too difficult to chose only five I reduced my list to seven, then I removed from my list two that seemed to have already a lot of votes (1 & 16)
  13. They intended that indeed, cf the last pages of the instructions of the Cafe Corner: http://cache.lego.com/bigdownloads/buildinginstructions/4513879.pdf
  14. That's not Lego, that's from Kre-o Some time ago I found an incomplete Kre-o set between trash bags in front of my building, I picked that to check by curiosity (and I was surprised by the quite high quality of parts) http://reho.st/self/35f750335492c78768dc9d9e92e3a932edb942c2.jpg There were some unique parts (not existing in Lego), that strange one with kind of "fur" was amongst them: http://reho.st/self/a2ea73d6d3da39bca5c19ad22cd122779499c84e.jpg
  15. Finishing bags 5, for the first time I encounter a missing part :/ http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=6155&idColor=86#T=C&C=86 I checked the empty bags in the trash, as well as under the couch... I'll wait to finish bags 6 just in case before asking the missing part to Lego (since this one is not common enough to be simply taken from my inventory) edit: and I got an extra 1x10 plate, probably explaining why the weight control did not detect the missing part...
  16. Thanks :)
  17. I thought the same when I had a missing part replaced by another one (that happened with another set, not in 10255), but afterwards I think it may be better to notify Lego anyway at least for their statistics, or else the problem may become more common (between those that can replace the part with their own stock and those who don't know they can ask Lego to replace the part, there must be many error unknown by Lego)
  18. No missing part for the moment (not yet finished to build), however in bags nr 4 I didn't have an extra "bar with claw" http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=48729b&idColor=11#T=C&C=11 in black It still doesn't really count as "missing" I guess, even if there is always an extra of that part type. However I got an extra metallic dish http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4740&idColor=67 in these same bags; is it an "error" or did everyone get an extra of that part?
  19. Indeed, it would be nice, a 16-wide contest (there has been a "regular" 32-wide a few years ago)
  20. I think it is right; from what I remember from a B&P order, TLG's "Outer cable" = BL's "Hose Rigid 3mm" At least I can say that BL's "Hose Rigid 3mm" fits well in the clips.
  21. Thanks; indeed it is nice to find other uses for parts and/or to try to achieve a more original result than what is commonly done :)
  22. oops, I missed that usually I read well all info posted
