  1. We get a topic like this nearly every year, same question...same answer nobody knows the proper answer with the exception of the Lego group.
  2. I recommend that you should be testing any gearbox that will be propelling a car along should be tested on the ground, and not static like in the video. There are two ways I have often thought about building the most efficient auto-gearbox: Design A The Centre shaft is the one that changes gears, the top is a static axle from the motor and finally the lower axle is where the different output speeds are placed. Design B A orbital gearbox where the driven axle goes through gearing on a rotational axis which meshes to a static output shaft. I have tried your idea too but have found that there is not enough force to change gears, design A does work well but it is limited as a lot of gearing will make gear backlash. Keep it simple....
  3. Hi Paul I have hosted your image for you,Photobucket is easy to use and free so I would recommend using that if you are looking for a hosting site. Your bin lorry looks very good, and the functions are there too,you seam to enjoy making refuse vehicles.
  4. How about making two booklets, divide the model into two separate PDF'S?
  5. Smart looking truck. I like the styling/colour scheme.

  13. Nice looking truck, why has Jim not given you a technic badge yet?
  14. Sometimes members can post before they think, hindsight is a wonderful thing, but sadly it comes after the action you have done. Before posting read over what you have said, making sure is confines to the site-guidelines,its in the right forum section and its clear and tidy to your best of your ability. Just because you are posting about selling a technic pin does not mean that you should post this in the technic section. Or if I can not find my favourite 5420 -1 soft rattle in any lego shop does not necessary mean it belongs in the action figure section.
  15. There is actually a "Hide Function" that staff members can use,but I can see a public version of that leading to trouble with people making "hidden" comments. I just use Google, the topic tagging system on Eurobricks gets abused... People should be treating others with respect and being helpful anyway,no matter if they are a new or old (*cough Jim*).
