  1. @ clizarra: Welcome to Eurobricks! Is the Battlestar Gallactica (BSG) Viper model this one by Greg Stinger-Bates on MOCPages? (LDD .lxf file)
  2. @ rm8: To make the car "drift" easily with slippery wheels, you could get some of the solid-plastic Lego 44777 "Wheel 68.8 x 36 ZR Solid Smooth":
  3. Armor All is safe for use on Lego rubber tires -- I've used it and it did not deteriorate the rubber at all. However, Armor All makes the tires really SLIPPERY. I find that Lego tires are "slippery enough"; recall how new tires on the 9398 4x4 Crawler struggled to clear obstacles. If anything, I want most of my Lego tires to be LESS SLIPPERY and rougher so that they GRIP better.
  4. @ jm731lego: To learn how Lego Power Functions work, go to Powerfunctions.Lego.com and see the various "Frequently-Asked Questions" (FAQ) page and the diagrams/videos there.
  5. @ Cheng Fei: Armor All protectant may be avaiable in Malaysia; it is designed to make real rubber tires look nice and new. Look for it (or something similar to it) in your local Auto Parts store:
  6. Try the "Griddy" software that is on Lasse D's website. I used it recently on the LDD model of a 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. I overlaid a Lego brick-and-stud grid over various .JPG photos, and determined how many bricks/studs the LDD model needed to be.
  7. @ Kumbbi: One of the drawbacks to the 8421 set is that its pneumatics LEAKED AIR. A raised boom would be found flat on the table the next day. Linear Actuators "stay put".
  8. Yes, a "photo-sequence" building instruction of your mods would be nice, but if you don't have time right now (since you are working with The Lego Group on "The Boss" set), I understand!
  9. @ rm8: Are you able to say whether (or not) "The Boss" set is being designed so that it is THE SAME PRICE as the standard 9398 4x4 Crawler set?
  10. @ rm8: Nice mods to the Lego Technic 8081 Extreme Cruiser set! Now it really is "extreme" with your lowered GT! Do you think that someone could rebuild the stock 8081 to match your modifications, by looking at your pictures alone?
  11. I like those hubless wheels on your Lego Technic Chopper motorcycle!
  12. Yes, I will, but what is the new hyperlink to your revised LDD .lxf files?
  13. @ Paul Boratko: Is he/she in your hometown (meaning, did YOUR WIFE make the high bid?)
  14. @ olaf9198: LaixEngineering has some good steering ideas shown on this Mini Mobile Crane webpage. Perhaps they could be adapted to your larger scale MOC ( ) (Brickshelf gallery):
  15. 15 minutes to go in the charity auction -- USD $967.65 and 37 bids.... 5 minutes to go in the charity auction -- USD $995 with 38 bids! The final winning bid was USD $1,160 ! Thanks again, Paul, for your donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation!
  16. I'm trying to learn more about that Nooteboom OSD semi low-loader trailer (since they don't have any of those in the USA):
  17. @ Chilly: Although you probably have the missing pages now, (for future reference) Brickfactory.info is a great resource for page-by-page images of Lego Building Instructions. Set 850 is there.
  18. @ olaf9198: You may want to study the steered axle design on the Lego Technic 8053 Crane Truck (instructions available on this Brickset webpage). There are some good (oversized) pictures of the steering on Therion's Brickshelf Gallery.
  19. OK, but there is a lot of "tire scrubbing" going on, where the wheels are not rolling on the same radius. Trailers have to do something like this (with each axle's wheels turning on its own radius) via DIFFERENTIALS to prevent premature tire wear. Start at the 2-minute (2:00) part of this ; amimation by Blakbird :
  20. Here is Cams / CamsPL's comparing his two walking Lego Technic Biped Mecha models:
  21. Besides RoscoPC's Brickshelf Gallery of his LEGO Eagle Weslake Mk1 1967 Formula 1 car (which was already pointed out by NYChase above), there is this Flickr photoset by RoscoPC. The model has "working suspension - steering wheels - stabilizer bar - V12 -- [and is now] Finished with few stickers": He revealed some of his techniques used, such as the "half pins and cones are not strong enough to keep in position the 3 ribbed hoses, so I have to move to the most reliable solution with the palm tree top part ": -(
  22. On YouTube, CamsPL / Cams posted of his yellow Lego Technic Walking & Turning Biped (W&TB) Mecha model. It uses three Power Functions (PF) Medium motors to walk and turn. More on his Flickr photoset, and on his Brickshelf Gallery (when moderated). He also made the red Walking & Riding Biped (W&RB). which uses four Power Functions M-motors to make it "ride, walk, skate, and turn" : ( ) (Flickr photoset) (Brickshelf Gallery when moderated)
  23. Huw Millington of Brickset wrote this short promotion of the charity auction.
  24. One more Lego Technic TV Commercial from MrLegocommercial's YouTube Channel: Lego Technic 8043 Motorized Excavator (from 2010):
