  1. I'll look at that too, if you e-mail your LDD .lxf file to me at LudersDG@MSN.com . I'm waiting for it now.... EDIT: The LDD Power Functions wires have those green arrows; the digital wire does not extend from one Power Functions element to another. Yes, the green arrows will remain when you are done with the virtual model.
  2. @ matthewclso: Yes, that is the file name. Lego Digital Designer building files always have the .lxf extension.
  3. @ matthewclso: Welcome to Eurobricks! Meshing Lego Technic gears in LDD is tricky -- one uses the LDD "Rotation Tool". Zblj is the best at meshing LDD gears, but I have some practice and could probably do it for you. If you want to e-mail me your LDD .lxf file at LudersDG@MSN.com , I'll try to fix it and e-mail you the updated file back.
  4. @ crazy_1993: When I uploaded the LDD .lxf file into Rebrickable, I got some error messages that the colors selected were not in the Lego Color Palette, and there was a button to convert those "error" colors into the most-common colors. I did not think about the missing Power Functions L-motor and Servo Motor that were "approximated" using other parts. EDIT: I just edited the Rebrickable Parts List to correct those errors noted above.
  5. @ jadedomg: Those RC4WD Retread 1.7" Commercial 1/14 Semi Truck Tires MAY NOT fit well on the Lego 32020 "Wheel 62.4 x 20" because those tires have an Inside Diameter of 1.71" (43.5mm). That is close to 1/2" (19mm) smaller than the O.D. of those Lego wheels (62.4mm). The RC4WD rubber can stretch over the O.D. of the wheel and fit into the inset grooves. The width of those tires (0.87" = 22mm) is close enough to the wheel's 20mm width, but if one stretched those tires over the wheels, the sidewalls MAY end up bulging outwards. The price of those tires (USD $9.99 for a pair) is not bad, though.
  6. Isogawa Yoshihito's "Fleet-Footed Insect" spider-like Lego Technic walker is now on Rebrickable. Thanks, Technicmad, for hosting it and thanks to the Japanese master for sharing it!
  7. crazy_1993's HIGHWAY ENFORCER is now on Rebrickable. If you already have the 9398 4x4 Crawler set, you can load that set in "My Sets" on Rebrickable, and see what MISSING PARTS you need to build the Highway Enforcer's body shell. If you already own the 9398, you already have "1660 of 2811 parts (you have 40.9%)." Thanks, crazy_1993, for sharing your MOC and thanks to Technicmad (Nathan Thom) for his great Rebrickable website!
  8. On his Flickr photoset, Barman (Barry Bosman) "reverse-engineered" the Lego Technic 42005 Monster Truck set. He wrote, "After looking at the Nuremberg Toy Fair video, I decided to try and reverse engineer it. I'm sure there are still some errors, but I will find out once the set instructions are available. It is a fun little set. Because of the big wheels it can't steer very far, but this is compensated by the double steering."
  9. @ PsyKater: I can view both the YouTube video and the Flickr video here in the USA, and I can tell you that they are identical except that the YouTube video has an additional ~30 seconds of footage, showing the car driving in a parking lot. You're not missing much. Those beautiful curves on the Ferrari 246 are difficult to replicate with Lego Technic right-angle connections. The tapered oval radiator grille is very distinctive, but I don't know how one could improve upon it.
  10. I still can't believe that the 42005 Monster Truck will have a Suggested Retail Price of USD $49.99. When you look at the parts that you get, it's probably worth only USD $34.99. It makes you wonder if The Lego Group will be providing some better tires for it. I don't know what could justify that high a price.
  11. OK, I see what you mean now. Here's an older (February 2nd) photo of the set, with those Light Bluish Grey liftarms in the midsection of the chassis instead of the Technic Panel used now. As dhc6twinotter noted, the horizontal Technic Panels that once were at the back of the model (forward of the battery box) are now gone in the images above. Ignore the red circle; it has no meaning in this discussion.
  12. @ dhc6twinotter: Daniel, which panels are you referring to? BrickshowTV's of just the Lego Technic 42009 Mobile Crane MkII at the New York Toy Fair:
  13. CollectionDX posted this of the Year 2013 Lego Technic sets shown at the New York Toy Fair:
  14. @ dvsntt: So that I can visualize the problem, I've restated the situation below. The 92950 "Brick, Arch 1 x 6 Raised Arch" (below) does not come in Dark Red, but it DOES come in Red. Would you consider spray-painting the part? The 3455 "Brick, Arch 1 x 6" part DOES come in Dark Red, but you cannot fit the Dark Red 93273 "Slope, Curved 4 x 1 Double No Studs" part underneath of it: Should you consider using the 62361 "Vehicle, Mudguard 1 1/2 x 6 x 1 with Arch" part? It does not come in Dark Red, but it does come in Red and could be spraypainted. It has an eyebrow effect over the window:
  15. Matt Gray made the Lego Technic 42000 B-Model Race Truck alternate, and posted this YouTube video (PDF Building Instructions): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e8y-rPdBm4
  16. @ Someonenamedjon: TechnicFreak lives in Michigan -- he'll probably chime in on this topic soon. @ timslegos: NYChase is on the East Coast.
  17. Here's something you don't see often -- a Lego racecar made with an onboard intelligent brick! Laurens Wuyts posted this YouTube video of his Lego Mindstorms NXT Ferrari 246 model. His Flickr photostream shows many of the details. He credited Sheepo for the suspension design. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWHy3a-aSHU
  18. joshdammonkey posted this of his Lego Technic 12-cylinder Radial Engine MkII:
  19. The "regulars" on this forum don't care -- there are other Teenage Fans of Lego (TFOLs) that are Eurobricks members too. As long as you write well like you did above, and don't "act like a kid", things are cool!
  20. @ Someonenamedjon: Welcome to Eurobricks! The "best place" is Bricklink.com -- those Lego 54120 balloon tires are available here. Pick the Bricklink store you want!
  21. @ Kronos: Yes, I know. I put a comment on LegoTechnicModel05's YouTube video to alert him that his "Download" button doesn't work for that model. If he restores it, I'll post its status here.
  22. On this webpage, Nico71 presented the results of his questionnaire about how much AFOLs are willing to pay for Building Instructions:
  23. @ efferman: Have you contacted NYChase to see if you could market your Building Instructions through the MOCplans website (which will be online soon)? Maybe he has a feel for how much Lego Technic building Instructions would command in the marketplace....
  24. It would appear that Paul Boratko is going to make the Building Instructions available soon. What is posted on his Crowkillers homepage now is a red version of his black Porsche 997 GT3 model, which has these features: 6 speed transmission "Hand of God" steering system with functional Dash Steering Wheel Flat 6 Rear mounted Engine Full Independent Suspension Opening Hood, Doors and Trunk
