Couldn't find the pics on reddit, but this is great news !!! Hope they go all the way and make it a BIG (and expensive, who cares, we've waited 25 years for this) set :) .

Did anyone notice they do not mention a T-rex on the back of the box? All the other official molds are included... Must be because it's a junior mold set.

It looks like a nice set, but not a 130USD (or EUR) set.

Got it, thanks all :)

Same here. I had a look on all the regular sites, but could not find it. Thanks.

This is what LEGO should've released, instead of that ugly double cab... well done to you, sir!

I was so thrilled about both sets, esp the cargo train when they said (and the first prelims showed) a french inspired BB15000 series... Seeing they made some shady 'deltic' inspired model made it loose all of it's apeal. And the passanger trains just looks childish... Guess I'll be picking up two 60051 sets and convert them into the german ICE.

I have a feeling I am the only one who prefers buildings and structure over the included dinos ;). No, it's nice to have some variation, but don't mind an extra T-rex as much as I dislike (sorry guys) al the raptors and non existing dino's (indominus etc).

If they decide to use the JW line for this, I really hope they make some kind of JP tribute set. Doesn't have to be much, just the jeep or ford explorer with gate and T-rex would be cool.

Picture of junior T-rex set now online. Looks very cool!

I wonder what the Jeep and mansion will look like. What I dislike the most, is the fact that there will probably be no JP tribute set :(.

Good job !!! Why buy the original if you can make it better yourself :D .

I was thinking the exact same thing when I heard them discribing the sets...

Does it annoy anybody else that LEGO has not made a traditional stand alone locomotive with 2 or 3 carriages for a passenger train since Santa Fe and 7740? Sure, there were some good looking trains, but if they would use the 1 + 2 concept, we could interchange the locomotives between freight and passanger, something that would only increase playability.
-
I hope so, because I really do not like how that train looks. It's very duplo-ish and could benefit from a brick build front.
-
What I like about the freight train is that LEGO has never used this shape of locomotive before. Even if we go way back to the 'golden' grey era, al kinds of locomotives have been released, but this one never has. It's a shape that was commenly seen in France, Portugal, NL and Belgium.

The lack of a T-rex could also mean that LEGO has a JP tribute up in it's sleeve in which they have to include a T-rex...

Cargo train sure looks like this:

Yes, the source that gave the description based on the prelims said it was the carnotaurus.

High hopes about the mansion :), and I'm glad they included some new dino molds. To bad there is no triceratops, baryonyx or mosasaur.

Thanks for posting all these great models. I'm going to use the belarus traktor for my 'work in progress' train station. I've been looking for a set I could use as a freight for my rolling stock, and this is perfect!

It would be nice to have a running train, but since your space is limited, I'd ditch the idea of having a loop/oval for your train. Instead, try - like has been mentioned - to let the train go back and forth. You could even make your own train which looks good in either direction it's going, like a trolley. I'm sure there are instructions to be found somewhere. That way, you could use a small station or just a platform and the new winter station at either end of your track. You could even add a switch for some playbility and include a static goods wagon that is unloading some Xmassy stuff like chocolate, presents, santa's sled, reindeers or whatever you fancy. Btw, I'm in the same boat as you. No cat, but two big dogs in my case. I'm using the dining room dressing which is 3 baseplates wide and 12 plates long as a layout. No loop, just shunting and messing around... Well, that's the plan. For now, it's just a big pile of bricks and some half finished buildings and rolling stock.

What trains could be rereleased if Lego goes the Legends route?
*thomas* replied to Doom2099's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think that IF LEGO would decide to rerelease a set as a legend series, it could be the sante fe or even the bnsf. Why? - including PF wouldn't be to troublesome - engine cars are available (santa fe and ttx) - they would make a good 120USD set which is about the pricerange of the previous creator train sets (engine + 2 cars, w/o powerfunctions or track)- 52 replies

Regardless of the fact if the rumours are true or not, I have mixed feelings about a modular train station. I'm always exited when they something train related in the creator line, because that would mean the build would be more challenging, the design stuffed with detail and ofcourse, more parts. But, I don't feel the need for a modular train station, since that would bring a lot of limitations to the build and to the town lay-out. Furthermore, people who don't have or exhibit modulars, would have a building that would look very silly standing 'next to' some tracks...
