  1. Lego has released a lot of (sub-)themes, but few have the same following as Pirates, Trains and Star Wars to name a few do. So, it would only seem right to launch a (small) pirates theme to celebrate. But hey, I'm no marketeer.
  2. Sorry to say so, but I've noticed over the last couple of weeks in different topics that you do not respect other people's opinion. All members on this board or LEGO fans, but not every fan has to appreciate everyting lego does. I dislike many sets they made when I look at lego as an AFOL, but understand the appeal for kids. Just let everyone be, let them express their opinion, even when it's not the same as yours. It is a discussion-board after all.
  3. Finaly some good news. This is what city is all about, not some neo-space-theme.
  4. Sorry if my reply has nothing to do with pirates, but I always feel like LEGO puts a lot more effort into the friends line/themes. This new ocean/explorer/coast guard theme would be a wonderfull city set. Alle the pink, lime green and light blue is to girly (I know it's a theme aimed at girls :p ).
  5. I missed this the first time you posted it on eurobricks, but I like this build a lot. I'm no modular fan, but in a way, this is a nicer build than the original lego set.
  6. This is an amazing set. I hope LEGO takes it into production and maybe builds a new pirate theme around it...
  7. If this were an official lego set, I'd buy it :). Well done, so many details.
  8. Thanks for sharing the build with us. Just a tought, why not stick to two axle bogies? Now it just seems silly to have a 2 axle and a 3 axle. I know the prototype had 3 axles, but still... Give it a go and see what you like best.
  9. 4 axle, german railways (DB)
  10. Why not complete the build first, but make photos along the way and upload it afterwards?
  11. Nice build. I would turn the track next to the building in a service road for trucks and vans.
  12. Very nice, well done.

    Sailboat

What a cool, sleek design. Well done.
  14. There is indeed a clip on youtube with some new city, star wars and creator catalogue images. Set 60223 (harvester transporter) looks very, very good and will be a great add-on to last years forest traktor and the farm theme from almost a decade ago... Cool
  15. In the past lego used 28 long base plates for trains, which looked better. You can, as has been stated above, always lengthen your traincars. For passanger cars in 6 wide, a 48 long base still looks ok, but will seem a bit narrow when looking from the top.
  16. Very nice model, esp. since it's mainly 6 wide. Well done.
  17. What a great rendition to the first pirate theme :).
  18. LEGO recycles a lot of themes, sometimes quite often (Police, Fire), sometimes they leave (many) years in between. What I would consider possible are the following themes: - harbour - farm - TV station (last one was in the '80s) - outdoor / safari / hicking / rafting
  19. I really, really like this MOC. Mostly, because it would fit in very well with the line of creator expert trains we've had, but also with the current city theme. It's not overly complicated and reminds my in many ways of the 7740 and later metroliner. Those were cool trains because they offered great resemblance to a prototype, w/o being overly complicated. Yes, I know LEGO is a child's toy (when it comes to trains, that is), but this is something they could design and sell at a fair price. It has more play-value to it with the opening doors and panoramic roof and can be sold at a fair price with an oval track lay-out and basic platform.
  20. I like the lay-out of this small station, but it's still a bit rough. I am by no means a good MOC'er, but I would add tiles (1x1, 1x2 and 2x2) to make a pattern on the inside of the building and to smoothen things out on the outside (you could use 1x1 round tiles or the commonly used 2x2). Add some plants and garbage cans (in and out) and instead of using slopes to connect the platform to the track, I would close the front and add some ladders to give railway personnel acces to the track.
  21. Wow, what a great moc. Well done!
  22. Good luck guys, I'll certainly take a look but will not be buying since I'm an addict of Euro models.
  23. I wasn't a fan of the previous amusement park themed sets, but this RC is just amazing. Brings me back to my youth when I spend (to many) hours behind my old desktop, playing roller coaster tycoon :) )... I must have for me, even with it's higher price.
  24. I agree that when parting out a set or using it for mocs, small pieces can be very handy, but, the last cargo train was a well designed set with enough detail for the adience the LEGO group targets... The LEGO metroliner f.i. also used premoulded fronts and did not have a very high piece count, still, it was a good looking set.
