[Software] LDD Manager
Scorpion replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Have you considered trying out the new BrickLink lego designer? They were bought out by Lego, so basically that's the official sucessor to LDD... I'm not sure it can limit designs to the parts of one set, but I know it show's when there are bricks in the design that haven't been manufactured in that colour, for instance. -
Good morning, gents. So it's come that that time: I have to clean out my attick and wash my insanely dusty LEGO. To the city sets, that's simple: lukewarm water and dishsoap. But when it comes to Techic sets, two parts pose an obstacle: shock absorbers and linear actuators. How does one go about cleaning those parts? All suggestions are appreciated!

I was playing around with power functions remotes, trying to bash out a joystick-style remote control for my latest project, but all my efforts were unsatisfying to me. So I searched around for some designs and I came upon Technic Dragon's excellent design. Having found it to my liking, shamelessly ripped it off drew inspiration from it to make this remote. The design is practically the same, I only made small improvements to decrease the part count. I hope you all find it to your liking as well. Here's the LDD file. Hope you enjoy it!

LDD 4.3.11 Update Discussion
Scorpion replied to ImAChangedMan's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Where can I report on bugged pieces on this latest version of LDD? -
A little bit off-topic, but shouldn't this be pinned? Is this information not relevant or in any way important?

Sariel, unless it has been commissioned by someone or you solemnly promised to give a certain destination, it's your creation and your property and you can do anything you bloody well want to with it, be it selling it, keeping it, burning it in a fire or build power armour for your hamster from its components. Go forth and keep amazing us with your technic constructions!

How come this thread hasn't been pinned yet? [Next Year] Rumour & Discussion threads usually are.

Amazing, simply amazing! Why LEGO doesn't reboot Blacktron is simply beyond me!
-
BTW, does anybody know exactly when the sets will be available at Shop@home and when the instruction manuals will be available at Lego.com? I've got kind of an order to make but I also wanted to mod the Arctic Cargo Plane, so I was wondering if I should go ahead with it or just wait a while longer...
-
So you need conflict? Blacktron 3! Blam, problem solved! (Nothing must come between me and this part in Yellow, Blue, Red and Black!)
-
Nope, that is not correct. Just ordered a PF IR revceiver and I received the V1 version.

Let me just say this: I hope we get some System Planes sets. I'd love to have a LEGO System Vough F4U Corsair!

New LDD Update! 3/26/13
Scorpion replied to CM4Sci's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Also, Technic axles no longer go straight through this part -> http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6538c -
In a word, yes. First off, get the LEGO part numbers, the ones you get in the parts inventory section of the building manual. Then, just call LEGO Direct, select the option to make an order, then the option of ordering loose parts. You'll talk to an operator, give him the list of parts [there's a limit of 15 (or is it 12?) part types and 200 parts of each type], your credit card info, address and you'll get your parts in the mail in one of those bubbly bags, which is always a plus. Hope it helped, Scorpion P.S.: You can't get parts from licensed sets, though. (I'm referring to parts exclusive to licensed sets, like SW helmets and such, not any part in a licensed set.) I tried and they just refer you to Bricklink.

Trial Crawler
Scorpion replied to Sicil's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Could you be a little more specific? ________________ Nice trial tuck, Sicil! If I may make a suggestion, though, I couldn't help notice that the suspension's Dark Grey links are secured by an axle on the bottom and a towing ball on top. I strongly sugest you put towballs on both ends of the link, because the towball allows 3 axis of freedom, whereas the axle allows only two, which can give you trouble when one of the wheels is higher than the other, forcing the axle to twist the link. Are you seeing what I'm getting at? -
Did anyone else notice that the Helicopter in the Museum set appears to have this windscreen http://www.bricklink...tem.asp?P=2483only modernized with clip hinges? Is LEGO trying to get back a few "blasts from the past"? Are there anymore "remakes" of old parts coming our way?

I hope the second wave has more cheap "army builder"-type sets, specially for the red and green teams... It's especially a shame that the red team only comes in an insect set...

I don't know why nobody has picked up on this yet: - The Hovercraft is reported as being the 42001 when the box says 42002; - The Mini-Backhoe is reported as being the 42002 when the box says 42004; - The Action Racecar is reported as being the 42003 when the box says 42011; - The Action Race Buggy is reported as being the 42004 when the box says 42010, and; - The Motocross bike is reported as being the 42005 when the box says 42007. This means we're missing 42001, -3, -5, -8 and -9, one of which is undoubtedly the Grand Prix Racer...

Loved the concept as much as I loved the E3 Halo 4 Trailer, which is to say, A LOT!!!

How can the set "disapoint" you? We only have a super-tiny, super-blurry picture of it, how can it possibly be enough to pass judgement on the theme, much less the set? Let's wait for more pics to follow...
