When you click on the ?, it actually says 5 per order, not 5 per customer, I wonder if they allow repeat orders of 5. Not that I'm buying more than 1 of the new crawler, but knowing how easy it is to checkout on Lego.com/shop VIP login Add to basket Enter Card Security number Done :-) It would not be hard to do multiple orders.

My objection to road plates is the increase in price. Maybe 10 years ago, They used to be £4.99 for 2, now they are £10.50 for 2. I find it hard to believe in this day that the cost of manufacturing has doubled. If anything, the COGS on the product has likely halved for Lego. They must be one of the most cost effective items for Lego to ship around the world as they are flat and they can get loads in a box. The same for the single green and blue baseplates, price used to be £3.99 a plate, now these are £6.99 It's almost like they are being priced out of production. It's not like the thicker 16x16 plates are reasonably priced instead, at £2.55 a plate, this actually makes the base plates reasonable value at £6.99. Maybe I have just not got a used to the cost of inflation and the value of the Pound :-) I'd love to see the unusual road plates back, As I grew up with the road plates in the sets, I'm sure this has a reason behind why I'd like to see them back. A child of 2013 would not know any different.

I like the maze :-) plus it looks like they might be putting some of their archive sets on display in the museum, maybe it will be a way for us to see them without having to pay for a full tour and vault visit.

It's interesting and I only found out the other day, Lego designed the 12v transformer, so you could invert the black control piece and it then only allowed you to output 4.5v (you could not rotate the power knob any further) this allowed the running of 4.5v motors using the 12v power pack. Quite a clever design, but prone to over powering a motor is the knob popped up a bit and rotated to far or like an earlier poster mentions if the transformer is actually producing more than the stated 12v.

MOC: Cobblestone Street & Bridge, Theatre District

That bridge just rocks, it needs to be over a river or some sunken feature, but it has real charm. Nice job -
As requested, here is the new shark which came with this set

I'll be trying to order one on the 1st August, but I'm not sure it's going to sell as quickly as some might think, OK, limited sets like the train Sante Fe, limited initially to 10,000 units, was incredibly hard to get, Mr Gold, limited to 5,000 units, almost impossible to get, but with a high price tag and technic sets being less desirable to the majority of Lego collectors, at £150 it's going to be a Christmas or Birthday set for most kids, I think we will be safe. I think the resellers who will profit most from this limited set are the ones that aquire unique licence plate numbers, e.g. 001 (although this is likely to be in the lego vault) 10,000, 20,000, etc.

So my 2013 purchased Coast Guard Helicopter from the Lego Shop Watford has the new shark mold with the gills. My only disappointment with the set, which I can't believe anyone has mentioned is the main rotor hits the tail rotar when they are both spun together. This is a flaw which does not seem to happen on any of the other 10 helicopters in this years set release. Apart from this, I quite like the new canopy, I think it looks quite realistic, nice set of minifigs, although when you add the ear defenders to the minifigs, they are becoming quite tall to fit inside vehicles.......

Weetabix Promotional LEGO sets....
paul_delahaye replied to LEGO Historian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Although not branded or linked to Weetabix, I'm sure it was a promotion on the back of the packs circa 1987 which got me 6381 Motor Speedway set. There was also a promotion to get 2 other small sets, 1612 "Victory Racer" and 1898 "Dragster" -
Lego Technic Figures
paul_delahaye replied to BasOne's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Not only that there is only one rare one in your collection, but the guy to Mr Green's left, Grey plain Torso with grey arms, also not available unless someone have changed the arms and used some brasso to remove the printing, but this thing which appears to make this one also rare is that he has blue feet and a dark grey helmet and visor, also not available in any set I'm aware of. Jackpot I'd say without even realising! -
REVIEW: 71001 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10
paul_delahaye replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Picked up a sealed box of 60 figs today from my local shop, disappointing, not Mr Gold for me, only the expected mix of figs in the box, so I now need to purchase another bumblebee and sea captain for my needs.- 114 replies
