  1. I'd always assumed when Lego added holes in the minifig head in the 90's it was to meet some kind of "Children's Toy" regulation, in case the part was swallowed, so it might prevent a choking issue? They did the same thing to pen lids (e.g. Bic Biros..... other brands also available) But this year I now notice they have done away with this and switched to the recessed stud? I cannot believe any regulations regarding children's toys has been relaxed? I'm inclined to agree that the holes would not make much difference if you did choke on it, about 4 years ago I choked on a 2x2 round plate and that had a hole in it! Simply inhaled whilst I had the piece in my mouth, and it went straight down!
  2. Is that some kind of Ozi machine gun which becomes part of the lifeboat crane. Overall I think I'd have prefered a boat which does not look like the real thing, but instead in minifig scale which can hold about 4 - 6 of the containers from the Maersk train. Problem is at £109 it's not like it's a cheap way of buying blue bricks to make your own design.
  3. A week.......it's been a month since I saw that retailers catalogue and provided info on the sets, I'm just amazed nothing has leaked in this time.
  4. Often some of the sets pop up before Christmas in certain markets, although they are not supposed to be sold until January. Someone always manages to get a set off ebay or something.
  5. Now looks like a Lego store heading to Newcastle in the Metro centre! Fancy a job as Manager? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2424329/Portsmouth-FC-dumps-14-antique-chairs-HMS-Warrior-SKIP.html
  6. James May built one of these on an episode of ManLab to get his model train upstairs, obviously not out of Lego bricks.
  7. I find cold water and a good scrubbing brush gets the dust off my technic tires, mind the logo's on those power puller tires!
  8. Not in the first half release
  9. They also look a bit like the technic balloon tire hub, http://www.bricklink...D=5&itemID=1541
  10. There are about 15 separate sets being released next year to accompany the Lego movie, I think this is being discussed in another theme on this forum.
  11. Bad news on the Southampton, UK store opening in 2013, rumour has it Lego have pulled out on this one. This would have been my local
  12. It has to be not buying a lifetime pass for £150 - £200 back in 2001 at Legoland Windsor, pre Merlin taking over the parks. However we have to remember the financial mess they were in back then, we would never have known if they would have survived under direct Lego control. I guess the fact they are still there today is most likely down to Merlin's commercialisation and marketing them like their other theme parks.
  13. Empty pallets, yes you could get 4 in there. Full pallets as supplied by Lego with the set, without modification to the height of the plane or the pallets, The door won't shut with more than 1 in each cargo section of the plane, but that's a discussion for the other topic, back to the trucks, both the truck from this year plus the one from 5 years ago are great sets, I think this years is slightly over priced, I would have put it at £17.99 rather than £24.99 in the UK but I notice Argos since launch have already been selling it at £20, so there is hope.
  14. I don't know either, but I need to buy an old 9v motor to replace the jammed one on my barcode truck which I bought the other year.
  15. What is more impressive is that this truck can carry exactly the same number of pallets as that massive cargo plane!
  16. 4 from memory and it was either Dark Red or Orange, but I could easily be confusing it
  17. The greatest problem by far with this plane is it's massive, but only has two small cargo areas of 6w x 10l x 2h, you cannot even load 2 pallets side by side in each of the cargo areas? why they did not make the hold go all the way through the plane, even if it was on a different level it would have been better. Never mind, The ground vehicles are great, especially the conveyor belt one.
  18. ahhhhhhh I thought I'd bought all the Lego for this year, now I will have to find more to get these little sets!
  19. Sorry, can't recall, it was 4 or 6 but that would be everyones guess, it won't be long now, the first 2014 star wars sets from the resellers catalogue have now ended up on Flickr, so I'm sure we will see the rest within a week or two now.
  20. That's a really nice freebie, I'm running out of sets to buy this year to justify another couple of hundred dollars in spend!
  21. I have one to, it must be a common thing for Eurobrickers to have
  22. Yes, they are designed to be moved when extended, but they travel at reduced speed
  23. Having used a 12 meter Scissor lift at work, I can confirm they don't have outriggers, and they do wobble like that at full height, especially when you drive them. I think it's quite accurate.
  24. To be honest, as soon as I saw more police sets which did not look much different to the last wave of police sets, I just turned the page, th only police set which I though looked ok, was the 4x4 with trailer and boat. But the boat was quite big, It will potentially give us this part http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=62812 in white which I think will be a new colour.
  25. It looked a little better than that one, but yes, basically it's a 6 wheeled dump truck, more like this http://www.pioneerjax.com/images/trucks/MackCH613DumpTruck.jpg but made of technic bricks, hopefully the pictures will surface soon, it's been a week since I saw them, so a retailer is bound to leak them soon.
